      I won't even get my license if I can do a u turn both ways in between the space of only 2 parking places. The u turn and 8 turn are really the 2 only things I got trouble with leaning. Just can't seem to get it right aspecially for the right turn. Often losing power during the turn. We only use the throttle (ofcourse) and the back break. Not the clutch aswell. So need to have some gass and then controll the speed with the back break. Its hard man.

    This is brilliant, you are brilliant.
    I failed my test in UK in '93. Two reasons, I dapped a foot down on the mandatory U turn; slight rear wheel skid on the mandatory emergency stop. I was disconsolate and had no confidence that I could do any better on a re-test so the learner bike was mothballed and I've not ridden since. I so wish your videos existed then, it might have been a different story! I discovered them recently and it's been a revelation learning so much that I didn't know when attempting the test. You have given me confidence that this is do-able and I now have the appetite to give it another try. First of all, the mothballs have got to go!!

    Eddie, the U turn God...thanks for this. I have been practising u turn a lot since your first video. I am now mainly practising between two raised kerb as well as main road and anywhere I can really and i realised that, this gives added pressure to the u turn. I practised so much that I am now able to do u turn within 16 foot on my triumph Sprint GT (large, heavy bike) where I though it was not possible before. I just wanted to share with you and your viewers.

    I appreciated your other clutch-control and low speed turn videos with explanations. But, I've been riding for quite a while and had that down pretty well. I really got a lot out of this video by just watching you do it over and over, which I'm sure was your plan. Some other people's videos, they talked and talked, then did only a few examples. That's not enough to really get me feeling the flow of the action. Thanks for putting this out there.

    I just bought a Triumph Street Triple. Haven't owned a bike in probably 15 years, and I've never had a license before only permits. I am signed up for the safe rider course next month. I started practicing U-turns and set my beautiful bike down at about 2mph turning right in a parking lot :( I was so depressed. I came across your video where you talk about using the clutch to regulate power and to never pull it in if the bike begins to fall. It saved me once or twice today when practicing, I have a ways to go, but I get the idea. My arms are just so tense, I keep telling myself shift weight and piano fingers lol, but it's tough at first! Only had the bike less than a week I can't be too tough on myself. Anyhow, thanks for the videos, hopefully the 250cc bikes they use in the class turn as well or easier than my street triple so I can pass this course and move on. I would like to get to a point where I can comfortably do a U turn without feeling like I'm about to drop my bike.

    I have been working on my U turns on the new bike for a while on a quiet road with a median. My turns are about 30 meters apart and with a slight incline/decline on each end. I also go from a stop at the end of the median to simulate the gas pump scenario. I have been doing this for about 3 weeks now and it has been very helpful to increase my confidence and control of the bike.
    Last night I mixed it up and did the drills at night. It is not a well illuminated area so the only real light is from my headlights. U turns went well, but when I transitioned to just riding in a circle is was scary AF. When I turned my chin I was looking at nothing but darkness. I had to stop after a while as it was messing with my head, even though I know the area well. Good training....back at it tonight until I dont need diapers anymore :) lol.... People should consider trying their training routine in the dark. It makes a difference.

    I noticed dragoin the brake slows the bike n stabilizes(also seems to quieter the revs.) it n keeping the clutch in friction zone keeps the trottle from being over sensitive . Letting off brake . N easing clutch out a bit more pulls me out of turn without having to do much with trottle . Sounds better feels better. U been saying to implicate this stuff in multiple videos. Doing it was way harder then listening to it . Thinking I'm heading it rite direction . Thanks for the help

    Hi there,, Great instructions as ALWAYS ! I would suggest to perhaps show the actual speed during the the U- turns... Does the student even need to get out of the friction zone, to perform them?? I hope someone can donate you another CAM for a SPEED insert in the whole frame.. Just an IDEA ! Cheers and Semper Fi !!

    • @MotoJitsu
      @MotoJitsu  Pƙed 4 lety

      The speed doesn't matter because it'll be different depending on how fast I'm going and how tight I'm trying to make the turn. If I'm making a tighter turn, I have to go faster in order to make the bike lean more. The most important thing is for you to go practice yourself.

  • @petej7534

Wut part of friction zone r u suppose to be in when u go to dip bike in . Cutting power part.or given power part. Plus I seem to have trouble over reviving if i try to maintain a steady low rpm while trying this . N if I try to just slip clutch in friction zone it bogs like I'm going to slow

    I think something I really struggle with is leaning on my bike (gs500f) and wondering where the point is that its going to slip, because I've watched videos where guys have been leaning and slipped higher than where I am, I guess it all comes down to confidence on the bike at slower speeds and doing drills like these right?
    I also have trouble taking off with the steeling locked in either direction because I feel like its too sharp and im going to jackknife the bike and the momentum is going to highside it.
    even taking off at slowspeed riding gives me that sensation. Would you suggest I just keep at it and get used to feeling even more uncomfortable? or am I missing a key component?
    I love your videos so much too, they have been such an invaluable resource as im about 12 months in riding.

    • @MotoJitsu
      @MotoJitsu  Pƙed 4 lety +1

      It won't just slip unless you do something stupid like grab the brakes mid-turn or hit gravel or something like that. You have a lean limit in your mind..the bike can do more than what you think. More courses, more time practicing. Go do MotoJitsu drills for a few hours a week, you'll improve.
