- What is a sweat guard on a kydex holster? It's the part on the back that extends up the slide, sometime wrapping around the rear sights.
Whoever first called it a "sweat guard" was attempting to market it to people who worry about rust, but it's no real protection. It can prevent the rear sights from poking you, if it wraps around.
When choosing an optic compatible cut, I recommend you go with mid height or no guard. The full height guard will poke you when cut away from the sights, leaving a dagger like piece of kydex up against your body when the pistol is not in the holster.
subbed for the belt. Thank you as a new guy couldn't find one vid that was useful
Let me know what you want to learn and I'll try to help.
The belt is by Brown Coat Tactical.
It's like sheathing a sword, using your thumb to guide the blade
I've got a Trex sidecar mid sweat guard and I break a sweat walking to my truck in this 100% humidity 90 degree weather. I just make sure I keep the sweat wiped off when I see it on the rear of my Glocks slide. Kinda wish I got the full guard.
Understandable, Matt. I sweat like a horse and find that it works its way around the holster in to the gun, no matter the height of the guard. Keep it oiled and be happy that it's a Glock. :)
Knowledge, Skill, Gear and I wear an undershirt always. Not a ton of sweat but it shows a few small drops on the slide sometimes. A little ballistol wipe down takes care of it. Nice video by the way.
Model of CZ 75? Nice!
Great video 👍...but doesn't the sweat guard poke your mid section ?...thx
Hi Mark, it can, which is why I recommend the mid height instead of the full height. I don't notice a difference between the mid height and none.
What brand holster are those?
