@@dan13ljks0n The sedentary nature of your job may be the issue here, your 'tiredness' though having an emotional aspect sounds more physical. A brisk walk at your main break, or even before/after your shift could help alleviate that. Stay well.

After trying to square-peg myself into a round extrovert world for 80 years, Covid downtime has given me what I didn't know I craved: full excuse to be alone with my cat. He's an introvert, too. We understand each other perfectly. Bliss.
This is exactly what I have tried to make others understand when they say I need to get out with people again. I prefer to park my 70 yr old butt down with my cat on my lap to watch a good movie and I'm happy. Why must I then be labeled a hermit and unsociable if I would rather be by myself until it's necessary to get around others. Somehow people think it's sad that I'm a female alone, but truth is I've always preferred my dog to the husband I used to have, lol.

I am so glad there are people like me. I've been an introvert my entire life (I'm 74). I just found out that I also have Avoidance Personality. So many things I wanted to achieve but couldn't in my life. Life has been very hard but now I know why. I still love my time alone. I cherish it.

Many of these hit the mark! People wonder why I don't have a cell phone. My response is that I have an answering machine. I attended a small high school and went to my 10-year reunion. Everyone grouped into their cliques, and I ended up on the steps outdoors with the smokers. When Covid hit and people were self-quarantining, I didn't notice the difference.
If you have a party (and I actually come to it), and you have pets.... you know where to find me.
I just bought a door mat that says "Go Away".
My husband had an uncle who had this sign on his front door for years, " Get out or I'll shoot". Introvert, but a traumatized man from an extremely disfunctional family. If I get a telemarketing phone call, i say very firmly before they get into their routine, " give me your Visa number, I charge $90 for the first three minutes and $70 for each minute thereafter". No one bothers me.

@@Tofueeter Yes, tofueeter, the sign was intimidating and he had no casual visitors. I think only one of his sisters would telephone him and not often. When my father-in-law's casket was being closed before the funeral, he shouted, ' Don't go back to Slovenia, we are all here.' He didn't want to see anyone, but took comfort that his siblings were just miles away.

I've always said that I'm quite happy with my alone time. All I've ever really needed or wanted was animals, especially my dog and cat. They understand me better than any human could, and are so much better companions for comfort and love. A cuddle from them is all the company I want.

In the Netherlands we have train carriages that are silent zones, such a relief for extroverts with migraines too!

I took a formal leadership class once, and one of the things they had us do was a Myers-Briggs personality assessment. On the introvert-extrovert scale, I was 51% introvert, 49% extrovert. I'm looking at my results while the instructor is saying something along the lines, "Everyone is one or the other, but still has some things they are the other one. It's impossible to be both/middle..." Apparently, I'm impossible. (One of my classmates, though, pegged it in the introvert side. Absolutely nothing on the extrovert side.)
I don't think I have bipolar disorder..i just talk to everyone one day then don't talk to anyone the other day..it just i think it depends on my mood?? But iam normally an extrovert but sometimes become an introvert
@@shinysam45 Maybe it's the situation? They say the difference between being an introvert and an extrovert is where you draw your 'energy.' I tend more towards introvert, but if I'm around the right people where I'm not overwhelmed, I'm the chattiest, most energetic thing ever. When I'm around more extroverted people or just there's too much going on or it's unpleasant, fleeing to somewhere quiet is almost overwhelming.
So many laugh-out-louds for me! Almost all were so relatable!! I CAN interact with people, and too often have to (twice a week is too often!), but am always relieved to get home and be by myself. If I have to deal with people more than tree times/week, I start getting stressed out. I'm 72, and it gets more so as get older.

My wedding... just us and our parents and siblings. (No wedding dress and just a nice quiet dinner.) The idea of having lots of people looking at me raises my blood pressure. I love beeing quiet and at home. Interaction drains me!
Now I'm a mom and I have to interact with people at school... and my son talks non stop, so I listen! When he's sick and can't sleep, I listen to him talking all night long! I love him that much.

at 6:10 mark .... I was once in some podunk place in Mississippi called Lutz's or Lusk's or something like that . It was old and kind of shoddy but each table had it's OWN ROOM and if you wanted something , you hit a buzzer and the waiter would come.... I LOVED it - Food was real good but that concept was the BEST. & it wasn't super pricey because it was MISSISSIPPI.... That being said I doubt i'll ever go to The South again.

I once met this sweet quiet gurl who shocked everyone at a holiday party once. After about four drinks, she karaoked sweet child of mine, and sang it loud, like axel rose, and didnt miss a single line or "axel expression". Her stance was like a rock star, too. 0:53 Yes. I do see a text and think I will reply when I have the energy or motivation or need to reply to a text saying, "Hi" and all that fore talking. I mean, you can just come to the point that You need my assignment to copy because you didn't write your own. Why do you need to know what I had for dinner today? It's not like I will ask you to come and eat my dinner if you say that had worse dinner than me or vice versa.
Also I do feel guilty but only for a little while because it doesn't take long for that person to show me why I shouldn't feel guilty for not replying to their text.

I am an introvert but I ended up working in call centre because I needed a job, once I got to know people there I dam well wasnât going to do rounds of painful interviews with strangers and endure getting to know a new office full of people all over again, fast forward 10 years and now itâs all Iâm qualified to do. I still jump every time the phone rings. I hate my life.
I have found the best thing for an introvert. An RV. You do not like people in your business or getting too friendly. Fire up the engine and go somewhere else that no one knows you.
I'm getting a motorcycle in two weeks which has only a single seat. A passenger seat can be added but I won't add one. Maybe my future will include an RV.

As always, half of this isn't about introverts, but some other stuff, like being antisocial, not liking people, having social anxiety etc. I see how lots of people can relate to these but not all introverts are like this. Especially it is not true that every introvert avoid people at all cost. It creates impression that all introverts WANT to be constantly alone, while lots of the time they just have trouble making friends.
