Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenwerfen Castle are two of my favourites of all time
Excellent choice to visit Shawn, the beauty, the history, Germany is rich in bucket list destinations. FYI, Wuppertal Schwebebahn which is a suspended rail is about a 5.5 hour drive, I know your fondness for one off unique public transportation types, this one is beautiful and very old, cost's about 12 euros for two Adult 24 hour passes, worth the drive Shawn.
Would love to ride this one day!
I really enjoyed that video, thanks for bringing it to us Shawn and Charlotte. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was one of my childhood faves as well, i never realised it was filmed on location in Germany. Wow, what beautiful views, maybe next time you can go on the cable car, that would be good to see the stunning views maybe you could go when its snowy.

Bavaria is Absolutely Stunning , stayed in the small Village called Schwangau for 2 weeks a few years back, I say a few years back when I mean 1985 😊 and spent most days swimming in the Reservoir, The village is the one you can see behind the castle and just past that is the Reservoir......loved it in the height of summer then moved on to Munich for a week then Dortmund, you guys need to visit the south of France that's also beautiful, lived and worked in Beziers in the mid to late 90s and also on the coast in Marseille and Cap De Agde.

I've seen this castle in person. The area is just gorgeous. The castle is just so awesome to see. Very enjoyable to be there. I was there in the early 80s.

Whoa. This brought back memories! I went here when I was about 10 in the late 70's on a school trip. On the other side of the mountain is a cable car which takes you up to the top. We went on this and has to walk down the mountain to the cadtle, in really heavy rain which made the paths treacherous. I remember slipping and nearly falling down a 50ft drop! By the time we got to the castle it was getting dark, we were soaked through and too tired to care about it! But I recognised the bridge and the buildings at the bottom.

In fact paying by card isn't that common in Germany as it is in the rest of the world. Outside of the big ciry areas, a lot of cafes, restaurants and shops are cash only or have a minimum ammount for card transactions.

The other castle was his Dad's castle. He built this one to flex over his dad. Mind you king Ludwig was as mad as a box of frogs
