- The power of this Terraria weapon may surprise you... The Charged Blaster Cannon. In this video, I take a look at this post Golem Pre Cultist powerful mage weapons that is pretty much just the predecessor to the Last Prism. Although it appears in a strange part of progression and drops during the Martian Madness event, it's damage is extremely high and can make this section of the game much easier for mage players! You should totally give it a go!

Me and my friend always called it the bootleg last prism, it's really good but it has a lot of flaws that make it not really worth getting.
I literally beat moonlord with this weapon in one of my playthroughs. The power of this weapon is seriously underrated

I really wish there was more content in between Golem and the Lunatic cultist. So many good weapons, only to be put aside after only 1 boss fight.

@@sockrteez that could kill 2 birds with 1 stone, as the EoL is such an amazing boss that many people, including myself, skip 75% of the time, only actually fighting it when playing as summoners.
Maybe the new update that hopefully comes out sep 28th will change that
Yeah, imo the most fun parts are terraria are like the parts after your first boss/the start of Hardmode. This is because the beginning stages take a long time to prepare sometimes, and the later parts of the game move WAY too fast and you barely get use out of your gear
this argument/complaign/topic is starting to annoy me with how often its being repeated, go play a mod that fill that gap, that is NOT something that relogic is ever going to change themselves, i repeat, go play a mod there are tons out there that do what u want
That buff that let you actually turn the laser made this weapon so much better

I gave this weapon a serious try recently when trying to beat post-golem Old One's Army, and I was SHOCKED at how strong it was. Just completely deleting waves with a seemingly infnite range
As a lover of Mage, I can confirm this is a fantastic weapon in the right hands.

I find it funny that for the Mega Man inspired weapon, they just gave it a continuous beam instead going for the charge shot that Mega Man is known for.
The piercing orbs IS the Charge Shot
But in Mega Man X series, you get a Laser Beam charge too
It actually used to be a weapon that you would charge up to get the beam, but they changed it recently to this.

I remember when this weapon was horrible and shot nothing while charging and the beam couldn't rotate when firing

In the Pedguin server's PvE gamemode, this is one of the hardest to obtain and most powerful weapon, I used it a lot and absolutely love it

I think think that most weapon that are between Plantera and the Moon Lord are good but because of how easy Golem and Lunatic Cultist are you can easily just defeat all of them in a couple of minutes and then get pillar weapons. I think that to make it worth get any weapon in this tier they need to add more non-optional bosses or just make Golem and Lunatic Cultist harder.

This weapon is absolutely insane in events/OOA when paired with the Celestial Magnet for collection of mana stars

I love this weapon, it carried me in my late game mage play through with my friends in our rolelocke
For some reason, ever underrated weapon thing you do, I almost use it every play through! Having beat the game 9 times, I can say these truly are underrated! I named it the first prism with my friends. Amazing video as always!
Before the buff to the weapon i had tried it a few times, and only found it useful for the old ones army event, where 95% of the enemies were in a straight line, after being able to move it freely while firing, it became the best pre-pillars weapon/some moon lord weapons to me, always it up using it. I always farm the martians for the ufo mount and would usually get a few blaster cannons before getting one mount
always loved this weapon so glad u can move it around now in the 3rd phase
Definitely one of my personal favorites for all the points you've mentioned. This thing let me do my first solo cultist, pillar, and moon lord.

It was actually really good when I got it in my first play through when I was farming for the The Cosmic Car Key. It made me switch to the mage class for a bit.
I’d love to see a video on the rocket launcher it’s op with a cluster rocket combo it shreds the pumpkin moons waves up to 12 It’s a really good combo in my opinion
Flying mount + the mana flower potion thing so lots of mana pots + mouse w decent aim = OP. Literally its an insanely good weapon. Against bossess just aim well and your hits WILL ALWAYS HIT just make sure you have a good summon so mobs dont get 2 close

Charged blaster cannon is a must have for me solely because it's just fun to use. I've used moon lord gear countless times so i often like to let post golem pre cultist gear take the spotlight these days.

I think the best way to make the golem weapons more relevant is to make them just as good as the pillar weapons, maybe with more damage, or faster speed, or maybe even unique buffs.

I used it non-stop when I got it myself. Please do the Snowman Cannon, it's awesome.
I got it in a playthrough and fell in love with it instantly
I always fire it without full beam, that beam uses mana per damage tick, however the charging up and infinite pierce shots come at the cost of 2 ticks worth of mana for the whole attack before the beam. The big bolts go so well with spectre heal
Amazing weapon buff. I remember when it only went in one direction. And wouldn't change when you switched directions. Virtually was useless in 1.3 due to it.

Between golem and moon lord my friend group made it a mission to beat morning Empress (on expert) during my first playthrough that made post WoF, so I used this weapon in so many invasions and beat empress with it so it has a special place in my heart
i love this weapon so much i once got it in my playthrough as a mage and when i used it it was so op and when i used it against other players the beam was just invisible lol
last time I used this weapon was in 1.3, when the thing was stationary and only had one firing mode. Glad to see it got a massive overhaul!

Get a mana flower, stock up on greater mana potions, and you're unstoppable with this weapon
It took me like 10 invasions farming for the charged blaster cannon, I had to check the wiki to see if it was an expert drop, I got so many laser drills but never the cannon
When 1.4.4 drops I am going to do my first master world. I have beaten expert mode but I have never beaten expert mode moon lord without cheese. I will create a character will multiple classes with the new load out mechanic. Having every class in the game or at least three to switch between will make the game easier for me I think. There will be a lot more grinding as I am essentially doing three play throughs but it will be worth it. Plus I’m excited to do new runs on the new secret seeds.

Fun Fact of this weapon origin
this weapon (obviously) references the Mega Buster from MegaMan games. as you remember originally it also acted like one, firing small pellets by default and allowing for a single charge shot
but the nice thing is that now, post rework they kept it true to it's origins, even if in a more obscure way. Now it's much more akin to "MegaMan: Legends" series Mega Buster and it's ultimate weapon: The Shining Laser. In this game the default weapon doesn't have a charge shot but can be fired very rapidly, and can be upgraded (first 2 phases of the sequence), while the Shining Laser is an end game alt-weapon with is a powerful continuos beam with deals massive damage, resembling the beam the terraria weapon now fires
Imo its more like thw icarus arm part from Megaman X8 armor.

I love this weapon, before i played mage i never tryed new weapons but in mage there are so much oprions to deal damage i allways end up with all of my hotbar filled with varios type of weapons and Charged Blaster cannon is my favorite weapon of choice in late game terraria.

I usually stick to the goat razorblade typhon for as long as I can, but I had problema with it against the old ones army event in master mode. Maybe the baby last prism have a place there.

As a mage main in Terraria since the hardmode update oh so long ago, when this weapon came in 1.3 I had so much fun with it, especially in casual pvp arena's online. I'll always try get this weapon when I feel like running a magic setup in a playthrough whether I use it for long or not just for the fun factor. It'll always be Fun > Functionality for me.

Empress of light should be a required boss to make more weapons viable for longer. After defeating empress the cultists should gather at the dungeon in response to all the world gaurdians being dead.

I have always loved this weapon but I usually just replace it with nebula blaze and/or arcanum almost immediately because of the strange design at this stage of the game
Dont do that. Duke fishron mount im recommending and with a mouse with good aim I swear this weapon is so much better since u can dodge well and u dont miss but nebula the speed isnt that fast for fire rate and the projectile is slow

I've been using the CBC religiously in Calamity because golem to pillars progression takes a LOT longer in that mod
there's so many pre-cultist weapons i wish we could use them for longer

I’d use this if its attacks were split. Have M1 autofire a basic non-penetrating energy pellet for simple, efficient, and direct damage. Then give M2 a charging shot for either a powerful explosive orb upon release or a penetrating beam if held to overload.
