  • A short video demonstrating Somatic exercises designed to re-educate dysfunctional neuromuscular structures of the neck and shoulder. Somatic techniques can help ease neck and shoulder pain and poor posture.
    Bowen Technique uses a concept called Sustaining Muscle Spasm (SMS) which refers to an area of muscle, often very small, that is being subconsciously held in a locked position. This locked muscle (Spasm) distorts the normal function of surrounding Tissue.
    Somatics uses a concept called Sensory Motor Amnesia (SMA), this describes how dysfunctional movement can become established outside of conscious awareness.
    Often the SMS and the SMA are closely related if not one and the same.
