Coach beard is quite the underrated character the perfect balance to Ted over the top optimism
He low key has some of the best moments in Season 1. I love when he's there for Ted right after he and his wife split up. Doesn't say a word, just sits with him and has a beer. That's a true friend. Plus one of the best pieces of advice ever "Grow up... and get over it." Legend!
Just finished watching season 1. Hands down Coach Beard is the best character i have ever seen. He is just soooooo good.

I live in Richmond Upon Thames, where this is filmed, and can say that even the crew on this show are delightful. The whole team is really nice, so perhaps that contributes to the 'magic' Brett describes.

@@JackHGUK Yeah it's definitely more of a London thing. No-one's going to be bothered about a friendly stranger anywhere else in Britain; obviously a little more in cities but not as bad as London.

I spent two hours one day trying to understand the offside rule (I'm an american) and Brendan just explained it so simply in less than a minute.

Explaining offside with beer bottles is how we all (everyone that grew up with football as the main sport in their country) do it, that's why Brett was so proud. Love this show

@@Beanmagnet21 I agree which makes soccer even more stupid. The rules are made to keep the defenders as far forward as possible which should increase scoring but they still end games nil-nil. Dumb.
His “Let’s Gooooooooo!!!!!!” Shrieking Scream at his team from the sidelines was one of the funniest bits in the series. He’s such a straight, even character that when he has ANY kind of outburst, it’s surprising and hilarious.
The CG on Brett’s face is phenomenal!

As an American who lived in London for 10 years and had season tickets at both Arsenal and Fulham, I just want to say that the writers and performers just nailed it on this show. It represents both sides very well, it just nails the great stereo types of both sides. And naming the primary WAG Keeley while also having the original and greatest “Keeley” (Keeley Hazell) actually in the cast … genius.

When I saw the first episode I said “damm apple really went in with this CGI” but then I lookup the cast and he’s an actual person!! His face is so clear and smooth like wow 😯

I love this show because I’m not a major english soccer fan but my dad and I are huge Tigres (Mexican soccer team) fans, so all the general soccer jokes are hilarious and also Rojas mentioning playing for Tigres made me so excited

This is a show I treasure, love the cast and this interview is soo funny - props WERE needed for that demo for the meaning of off-side. Such a great show, rewatching them because it's actually a show you can do that with.

I’m enjoying the interview with these guys, but i have to say the intercuts to Jason Sudeikis’ photoshoot are so adorable and adorably distracting and make this a worthwhile rewatch.

Been used for many players but the one I remember is about Chelsea Frank LeBoeuf--who once said he was not a fan of the swearing so it went from "He's here, he's there, he's every fucking where, Frank Leboeuf" to "He's here, he's there, he's told us not to sweat, Frank Leboeuf."
Roy Kent is a great throwback to hardmen like Vinnie Jones and Roy Keane.

That pub on the green is one of the first one's I drank in when I turned 18. I seem to remember it being a lot thinner on the inside so I guess those scenes are shot in a studio. Having said that I haven't been there since the 1990s!

He did what I do when trying to explain Offside, and bring up the "second to last defender". A mistake when explaining it to a novice. Get them to understand the concept, and then we can thrown in the earth shattering wrench that the goalkeeper can throw everything off

@@yemio1005 It's actually very simple, it's the second to last opposition player, not the last defender. Normally the keeper is near the goal line so well ahead of the attacking player receiving the ball so it effectively becomes the last defender but if their keeper is way up (behind you) then there can be a defender in front of you but you're still offside because there's only one opposition player in front of you. Also you can't be offside if you're in your own half, if you receive the ball from a throw in or if the ball is played backwards or sideways, only when it's played foward.

In explaining the offside rule you missed that if the attacker is behind the defenders but still on his side of the pitch then he's not offside, also if both the attackers are in the offside position, but the pass is sideways or backwards then it's not offside either.
The pass doesn’t have to be sideways or backwards actually! If the passer is behind the defence, he can pass it forwards to a teammate as long as the teammate runs onto the ball from behind/in line with him
So impressive how far CGI has come, almost thought there were two people there
