I am so glad you did this video. It really confirms I am on the right track. I picked up a used ShoreLand'r jetski trailer this week and I was looking on CZcams to see if anyone else modified one to fit a small pontoon boat. I purchased a Field & Stream Angler 10. I didn't want to put it on a flat bed utility trailer and then have to unload it off the trailer and then drag it into the water. That sort of defeats the purpose of having a boat trailer. I am glad you pointed out why you would want a boat trailer vs a utility trailer. Great video! Thanks!
Jim, I've been reviewing boat mods on the tube and keep coming back to yours. Very well though out. I just bought a Bass Raider 10E and plan on making similar additions to my boat and trailer. Look forward to future videos.
I've got a jet ski trailer I've yet to modify, but this gives me some good ideas. I'll have to grind my brackets off and reweld, but shouldn't be too bad. Already thought about extending tongue. You're right about it being too short. Where did you buy your brackets? I'll need those bigger ones for sure.
I’ve got a 14 ft long jet ski trailer I’m fixing up like yours. I cannot find a bunk bracket anywhere, like the one you used on the 2x8s. Can you tell me where you found those? Thanks!
Hi Ryan, I live on a 64 acre lake, so I just back down the boat ramp & launch, so I don't use a transom saver. But if you're going to be trailering on the road, I would always use a transom saver!
If the wood goes and it is time to replace it, try engineered decking boards. I used 2 of those in mine. No carpet needed. No waterproofing or painting needed. Easy to slide things on them too.
I watched this video like 20 times. A easier way would be to get: (8) 12 “ Galvanized Swivel Bunk Bracket Kit instead of drilling holes into the trailer frame with L brackets ( he used 4x for this build) Here he uses 4x 5 inch L brackets & 4x 8 inch swivel brackets The 12 inch galvanized swivel bunk brackets are cheaper when you buy them in a quantity of eight and you also have the vertical clearance for your center pontoons

Steve Riggs Thanks Steve!
Nice job on the under carriage! I would like to see your stop on the front. The wench setup.
Thanks
I really like your idea on centering boat up with balster brackets and 2x4s.
Thanks for sharing.
great idea
Take all that contraption off and lay a sheet of plywood down. Then use the stake pockets as for uprights and 2x4 for rails. Done.
Where can I find the 5 inch bunk brackets

Do you transport the boat with the motor on. If so do you use any type of transit saver?

Can you show us how you strap down the bass raider ? Can’t just be just the strap on the front right ?
I just attached an eyebolt on the left/right sides of the trailer. I use a ratchet strap across the rear deck to each eyebolt. That holds it great.
