    really cool project. Now I wish i didn't throw out those old cabinets. Just one observation: you used what seems like plain plywood (not the water resistance one) so if this project will be outdoors, in time it may expand and rot due to moisture/water. since the ply is only used to support the casters, consider a weather treated 2x4 base which will probably last forever! Again, really nice project!

    Open question to the forum: perhaps there is a better way to prevent the concrete from sticking to the foam and cabinet ? Wax paper ? Oil ? That way you can re-use the foam and cabinet to make another one.

  • @olivepressdesign
    @olivepressdesign Před 8 lety +1

    I tried it. Came out amazing. Removing the inner foam was super challenging though. If I were to do it again, I would cut 2x4s cut to make the inner rectangular form and begin by screwing each piece forming a rectangle and building up from there screwing each 2x4 onto the other. Otherwise it was an awesome project. Thanks Ben

  • @MountainGuerrilla

    you should have put fibreglass mesh in there to reinforce it, regular ol concrete is rather fragile, also you can ratchet strap an orbital sander to the side to vibrate the concrete and get rid of any air bubbles.

    Really nice, should have cut a light angle in the last layer of foam though, so that water runs naturally towards the drain and you don't have to lift one side of the container
