    I feel like we have topped out on the high end trainers, unless something out of the box is developed we are just having minimal change for the sense of change at this point. Nothing earth shattering, I think the real break through is when they can hit Kickr functionality at Zwift hub price points.

    @DC Rainmaker, on the noise shot (8:43) it looks like your chain is too long. The rear derailleur is fully retracted and the bottom of the chain is sagging a bit.

      @miketimmerman6336 Před rokem +2

      Second this, I think the prior version selling for $100 off is a better deal than v6 at a higher price point. TBH, everyone has a trainer at +/-2% or better that is quiet so I don't see a reason to be brand loyal right now.

      @@handlebard I agree they are aimed at slightly different markets (you can’t use the Zwift trainer for Zwift sanctioned races) but given it is less than half the price and Ray got very good (+/-1 to 2%) on the trainer the Zwift bike is made from, the “market” may not be that differentiated. 😉

    Hi, So I've just gotten my 2nd kickr. I went from a 2016 to a V6 a couple of weeks ago. I've also had a single side stages power meter and now have a double sided power meter. That's the background. So I'm on a V6 model Kickr with a L\R stages. Do you know why the Kickr always shows ~20-30 watts less then my stages? I thought it might be the drivetrain but this is still a lot and it's always been this way, with every set combination?

    • @Dcrainmaker
      @Dcrainmaker  Před 10 měsíci

      Hmm, that's indeed a fairly big deviation - especially for an LR model (which, is usually pretty good). One thing to look at is whether or not there's a big skew to the left or right side. When I'm doing analysis of data sets, and see weirdness, I'll look at the Left/Right overlay chart within the DCR Analyzer, which helps to identify cases where the left or right side of the power meter is really wonky compared to teh total power of the trainer. You can grab a day pass (with three sets) here: www.dcrainmaker.com/analyzer

    until a company can come out with a 'smart' trainer which can run zwift, trainer road and all the other apps automatically without a need of a phone, apple tv, computer, etc.. then it wont be relevant all these models coming up. Get on it ! which ever company can do it first they will sell out the most. Have it all built in like smart tv with amazon prime, netflix, disney+ etc.

    Anyone who interrupts my training ride is a ding-dong.
    It's obviously a better device than the new Zwift trainer, but 3.5x the better (based on price difference)?

    Connecting your bike to a trainer absolutely sucks. It is and has always been the worst experience. I've had every Kickr and Tacx trainer and they all suck and are nothing but compromise. Get a Kickr Bike or a Stages SB20 instead.

      I'm sure we'd all love a trainer bike but that requires dedicated space and is double or triple the cost, this Wahoo bike is cost of a decent bike

      Wtf. I’ve never had a problem putting quick release aluminum and thru axle carbon frames on my kickr

    Adding wifi for 2-3 firmware updates… not worth IMHO…

      WiFi updates is just a secondary benefit. The greater one and primary purpose of WiFi is more stable and reliable connection vs ANT+/BLE that lead to dropouts for plenty of people.
