We need to make CZcams the new school system. I’m actually learning useful skills.
You're already in it buddy. Welcome to class 🤟
lol dont exaggerate
I dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a tool to get back into an instagram account??
I somehow lost the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
Dont give them ideas
yeah bro
client: yeeeahh, can you stuff alot of stuffs here? it feels empty
Lol that happens sometimes
@@SatoriGraphics so accurate!
In my experience, while that does happen sometimes, usually that just means the minimal design wasn't effective. If ever I get that input I try to rework my approach and often times without adding anything, but rather refocusing the design, the client will be ecstatic

Summary (you should still watch the video to see the examples and do the test at the end where you can quickly get all six questions right):
1. Spacing: 0:19
- don't just use open spaces,
- use images as focal points or balance.
2. Font choice: 1:33
- use a clean and readable font,
- pair fonts in a hierarchical way.
3. Colour choice: 2:37
- pick one colour that drives the design-forward that matches the message and the design's theme. Colours can also be used as a focal point or something used from background textures to accents.
- Use two highly contrasting colours.
4. No clutter: 3:52
- Bare essentials.
- Practical and visually appealing.
5. Balance: 4:42
> For every bold/heavy element in the design, look for ways to balance them with shapes, space or lighter elements to establish harmony in the overall design.
This is really good thank you, it actually clarified some stuff from the video for me. But I still don't understand what font hierarchy means..Or what exactly is the relevance, function & point of balance.. Is it just that fact that one or 2 bold things within an empty space wouldn't look great so we balance them out with lighter elements? I feel like I'm missing something out.
It'll be great to get to know something that could help clarify :)
@@unnatishe-her5916 You're welcome, from what I understand the relevance and point of balance is to keep a levelled quantity of information that are treated differently (so not too much graphics or text). For the typography balance that's to enable the brain to filter information by importance and to aid in forming a structure of the information.
Font hierarchy is to distinguish key/primary elements from secondary and tertiary ones.
thank you
@@Trisuku You're welcome.
Great info, really loved the test at the end and the way it was implemented!
Thanks for the test at the end!
It not only kept me watching but also re-watching this very informative video. ;-)
Great stuff as always, Satori.
I'll be implementing some of these.
I love minimal design! Great video Satori. It's a nice review/refresher for me :) Thanks a lot!
I really like this style, with questions on the end, i hope to see more
graphic design afficionados: *watching vids like these religiously and thinking working in the industry must be the epitome of stylishness
actual graphic designers: *still fantasizing of a world where we can apply these pretty-sounding principles that are rarely even used outside of big branding projects
i like watching these videos because they show graphic design at its most romantic: theory, where you have creative freedom and no client shoving their tackiness into the work
would have been ecstatic to be in the first category rn ;-;
If you're a GREAT hairstylist, you're not gonna let your client walk out with a mullet, even tho he asked for it. A designer's job is almost more communication and persuasion than pixel pushing.
@@xeler8r Very good point. Lots of jobs on upwork now say "open to opinions" because they don't know wtf they're doing. That's why they're paying us.
A client's "tackiness" is relevant as long as it achieves the goal. Unless you're a graphic designer for no reasons other than it being your hobby. In the industry, people ought to know how to respect _preference_ and recognize the structure of supply and demand.
@@xeler8r there will be an extent of consideration for a certain request, depending on the amount of professionalism required from the designer. It's like denying someone their choice of rare steak because you think you know better. But you see, dear, it's a thought applicable in fast food chains but not in fine dining. Siiiiiigh. Idk why a lot of people have a hard time separating personal from professional.
Thank you so much Satori Graphics! This was so informative and helpful!
6/6 Thank you Satori! The video was very informative and relates to a design im working on now🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥
I Love the questions at the end that really helped ! Thanks awesome as usual!
Lovely video, man. Thank you so much. This was so well-made, it shows your design experience too
Got every question right at the end of the video! ^ ^ Not really a brag as much as a testament to your capabilities as a teacher to lay out the information clearly and effectively. I'm new to design and this was extremely helpful.
Great tutorial, wonderful design and soundtrack.
The quiz in the end is great for us to keep the knowledge even more in our minds.
The best video I have seen for a very long time, concise, straight to the point. Many thanks. 👍
This is among the greatest most useful content I've seen so far on CZcams. I'm a new fan.
1. Balance
2. Try to only use 1-2 font families
3. To add impact and to grab attention
4. A focal point
5. Use 2 Contrasting colors
6. Implement hierarchy
aaahh i got 1 wrong :D
thank you for this amazing video, keep going on this way!
I'm really digging the test part at the end to compound what we learn !
Love this! Keep em coming, sure self-taught designer such as myself appreciate it! Thanks
Great video and tutorial, loved it and saved it to rewatch in the future. The quiz helped reinforce the topics in the video, awesome.
Love the test at the end, helps me remember everything that was taught better
This is great, I've once tried to design such but I didn't turn out so well, but this tutorial has shown me the light. That's bro.
Like from me on the quality of the video content itself, the way everything is structured and presentet. The bottom bar that shows the tooic keeps you in the loop, and then the final part to test gained knowledge is marvellous. This is overseen by many youtubers and should be implemented more and more. That brings the whole new level of engagement. Well done on this!
The test part is so much helpful. Thank you for the video
These tips are a goldmine!! Cheers Tom!! All questions right!
Crucial aspect thanks as always mate
I found it both enjoyable and useful!
keep up the great work!
your videos will truly come in handy to me sooner or later.
xD

Haha... But it works... Have a good sleep for great ideas!😅😀
@@SatoriGraphics actually it's a good idea, helps to memorize the content that you provide
6/6 .. very helpful tutorial, great work as always (Y)
I like the pop quiz at the end. It forces me to review what I have just watched. That's a great idea. I aced it but that's not important. I think all designers need to take time to look at research, think about style and review basic concepts. Thanks, always great work!
As always, a very helpful and amazing vid, thanks! :)
Thanks for sharing this information Sir Tom. I have always wondered about the rules for this design style. I believe I got 4 right on the test. As always have a great day.
Insanely informative. Thanks for this.
So much inspiration from this video. Thanks man✌️
Love it, thank you so much👌✨😎

Great video. 9 out of 10 on the test. In the current environment of covid created isolation, with collaboration and creative interaction nearly impossible, your videos are really filling the void. What an oasis of great content! Very glad I discovered your channel. Thanks,
Relentless! Thanks for a new video, who doesn't want to design simpler graphics that are more powerful! Have a great day! ✌🏆
I love your videos, youve taught me so much and shaped me into a great graphic designer! I was wondering if you could do a video on designing a keyring? I cant seem to find any good ones online. Thank you! Keep up the great content.
Satori I Love your videos!! Always learn something new!!
The examples were sooo helpful and made each of the points easier to understand!!

Wow the q&a and the end took the video to another level. Very informative and. Helpful . Thanks a lot.
well created content dude - thanks
Awesome idea is progress bar at footline of this video! Genius
Keep making videos! you are awesome!
I've always seen minimal design as borderline abstract. I've tried countless times giving options like these to clients I've handled, and not more than twice did they choose this option. With all the information they require to convey, it just wasn't feasible to do the design minimally. As an art director, I was taught and I learned to think of design to be like water, able to adapt to anything. So this minimal design, though it is great, I think is really a niche.
really good stuff, thanks
6/6 love this!
Thank you for this informative video
Thanks that was very helpful!
GJ man! I think this is very helpful for beginners (and not only) to improve

thanks a lot bro, much appreciate the feedback
Thanks, Satori! Great content, peace :)
Hey thanks for the feedback
wow so minimal and great video ty
Fantastic tips, thank you for sharing. A strong and great advice to designers, and the reason why minimal design is the preferred method for those who truly understand design, is to understand the content, to have robust categorization skills to create superb taxonomy of the content and provide the better hierarchy of elements.
Loved the quiz! Subscribed
scored 4. Thanks. liked. Can't wait to see more.
