Ohio is going to be a monster. She’s got all the makings for a flexible BB. Sniping, brawling, etc. Definitely worth the grind.
That said, win rewards this season are booty. No crates at all.

For what the Yoshino cost last year in event currency, this year you can get 3 ships & a couple of guises for roughly the same 35k, but that obviously involves buying the crates, so technically this year is better, more things for your buck. The only letdown imo is the windroses being under par compared to last year.

My eyes widen when I saw the secondary reload. It's stock secondary dpm is 10k short of an atlanta. I was expecting the secondary reload to be 6 seconds, not 3.7. On Massachusetts you need to proc the epic reload mod at 4x to have a similar reload on her secondaries.

For people complaining about having to buy the Santa crates. I bought the bundle of 10 and pulled out HMS lion Friesland and Marco Polo. So I spent 12500 doubloons and got my value x3 out of them instantly. It’s a good deal in my opinion

@@francescogionso6467 from my experience I’ve pulled premiums all the time from event crates. Also having to spend 12500 doubloons for a legendary BB is still a good deal. Keep in mind you don’t need the Ohio, and gaming is a hobby so I’d expect to have to spend money. I’m also speaking from experience but I guess that’s where I was ignorant. Anyway good luck maybe you will pull a nice premium.
How I literally spent around £105 which is around $130 on the level 3 crates. and got 6 ships in total and 4 were destroyers like WTH 😢

Ohio sure looks tempting. What about Juruá though? It's mentioned on the blog as available for winter crowns besides Ohio and Anhalt. Did Anhalt get a buff since it trialed? No rush I got weeks to make a choice.

I’ve only tried it on a full 11km secondary build so far and I think it’s a mistake, just like on Mass. Considering the pen of the shells and the alpha potential, full 16/4 AL New Jersey is the way to go. The armor profile and general tankiness I think is the best part of the ship, and you throw that all away when you try to engage those peashooter secondaries in a lobby flooded with 20-25K damage torpedoes.
🤷♂️ seconadaries are fun for me personally. I don't play competitively
I’ve built my Ohio to have extended secondary range, a faster main batter reload and concealment using Kondo, as well as your typical dispersion and perks and it’s worked out fantastically. My secondaries reach out to 8.4km because I have the secondary mod in slot 1 and they compliment the ships versatility. When I do get in secondary range they actually do a decent job, unlike Massachusetts. The only glaring flaw with Ohio is that it’s a Montana hull which means it’s a massive target, but other than that it’s pound for pound the best BB in the game imo.

Ive been playing for years now, it seems every time i start getting into enjoying a good ship it just got nerfed. (Think Sumner, saipan etc). This is my first time getting a ship right when it dropped and not yet nerfed.

If I saw buffs coming down the pipe I would want Montana to get her PC heals. GK? I'm really not sure...perhaps a buff to secondary reload. Played two matches in her last week and the secondaries felt lame after playing Schlieffen

With the arrival of this ship I think they will rebalance a lot of the legendary tier battleships around it, for example give yamato its third base heal back and it’s correct 97200 health since we don’t have upgrades to grind, the ohio seems way better then anything else at legendary tier in terms of battleships except schlieffen, I mean who would choose the GK over Ohio at this point?

@@DerkaGames I feel like gks secondaries are not accurate, they must have the pre pc buff dispersion values. Also it’s sonar for no reason on here is nerfed to 60 seconds, they really need to do a once over on the GK in my opinion

Let me remind ppl that last winter ship I Paid for was the the LION which is a Tier7 that cost 25,000 WC so this considerably cheaper at 15,k

so far im still fairly meh on it overall. Especially since WG isnt releasing any further about the update. Its inexcusable that theyve not released all the info yet. Id love to see the windrose list without going through my ships etc. So far the windrose rewards for tier 8 and lt is ABSURD. grates for cards to get a tier 2 or 3 premium ship that ill never use? It used to be nice rewards to grind them out on 300 ships but not anymore.
I got the JB, so its nice.

I'm absolutely stoked for this ship and am kinda upset I'm gonna be out of town for the major of the update. Although realistically I'm watching this video and all I'm hearing is, "This ship is too good and is gonna get nerfed in 2 or 3 updates."

The Ohio is a Montana prototype with 18 inch guns (Navy wanted to save money). Same with the Gerogia, it's an Iowa prototype with 18 inch guns

@@DerkaGames patch notes say mobile will get missions to receive the same daily rewards, since they don't have calendar, Wich means extra 3000 crowns if it works like the dubs on the third week. 😉

@@DerkaGames , Nah, boats don't need to be boring to be balanced. Ohio will be another ship that a ton of noobs and wallet warriors splash out on and they'll sip in the back trying to snipe with her mighty guns, leaving their cruisers exposed to enemy BBs. Once their cruisers are dead they'll sail forward and be torp'd, then rinse and repeat. Still at least Brisbane looks a lot of fun.

Poor Anhalt....it's a good ship when I had it for a week, but compared to Ohio it's not a fair contest at all so I'll be getting that Ohio this week.
The one thing that I've done recently with my game play is learn to wait for the better or perfect shot. I've had my share of moments with cruisers like that Drake early in that match, in which i fire at it and fail to do more damage because the angle wasn't preferable, but as we see, seconds later that Drake offered the profile in which to destroy it.
This game is a game of selectivity but it's also a game of patience which often fights one's instinct by habit. I'm beginning to think that at specific moments, less is often more if one tries waiting a bit longer.
Now that I got my mindless philosophical nonsense out of the way this Ohio, as demonstrated, may become the new Mob Boss of Legendary Battleships.
Originally that title belonged to Yamato until I got the Schlieffen which to me, is a better ship but this Ohio may take the title for itself with that armor scheme. If one can keep the Ohio in that 9-10 km range it just might be unstoppable.
I foresee a lot of players regardless of their spending habits acquiring this ship, as it appears to be a generational talent of a ship to own & play.
The Ohio may reinvigorate some interest in Legendary Tier.
I mean Anhalt is a lot cheaper. Can get for 10 bucks...

What do you mean by “sigma”?
It's the propensity of shells to land near the center of the dispersion ellipse. It's on a 3.0 scale. The closer to 3, the better the shells will "group" together

I got 50k dubloons from one of the free containers, gambled and got another 50k and lots of awesome ships 😊, I think I exhausted all my luck for the next 5yrs

7km on the secondaries. WG pulled their punches on this one a bit, but at least it's a useful range and better than most. I'd still be disinclined to go full retard on the secondary, but a Lee hybrid build looks to be a much better option than on other USN BBs--Big Mamie notwithstanding.

cough ohio is one of the worst states around. Ive been stuck here since 04. the suckeye fans are some of the worst. Or people think there si scenery here, but theyve not seen real scenery. I grew up an hour from crater lake oregon. I was spoiled with 5 waterfalls over 75 feet tall in a 10 mile radius.

Kinda upsets me that these ships are always stuck behind a paywall. Making it seem like you can earn it by playing the game but in reality needing to pay in order to enjoy these ships. Honestly it’s a really good solid ship that seems fun to play probably worth the $60
