For those that do not recognize it, this is class. Music from true musicians, no beat machines and no profanities!
After the Ordeal, must be one of the greatest songs, ever written by the human race!!
😄
This man's music transcends everything.
Como interludio de "Bacchus", he reconocido perfectamente un fragmento de "Firth of Fifth" de cuando estuvo con el grupo Genesis. Enorme guitarrista, aunque injustamente infravalorado.
I found out that John Hackett plays a flute especially adapted as he cannot raise his arms after a car accident. Doesn't stop him playing superbly though and his style and technique produces a fantastic sound. Add the amazing Roger King on keyboards and production skills and this is one awesomely talented trio.
Hackett's classical guitar has always been an underrated side of his abilities, and it is lovely to hear such wonderful tracks again.
I've often wondered about John Hackett's strange flute, now I've got the answer, thank you. Steve has become a real master of classical guitar a long time ago, yes. I realized that maybe in 1988, when he released Momentum and I could attend a concert with just him and his classical/acoustic guitars. I love his sound and style on this instrument, and he wrote so much magnificent music for this instrument. The latest Under a Mediterranean Sky is a more varied, eclectic example of his talent.
you probably dont care but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account?
I somehow forgot my login password. I love any tips you can give me
All great guitarists have their own unique style and stand out from other guitarists no easy feat..Steve stands out created his own sound.
I need as much great music as this in the coming weeks to try and get my mind relaxed from the terrible stresses of the goings on in the world at large. Stay safe everyone, if you’re in isolation keep your chin up, it won’t last forever.
Some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard in my life!
Maestros como usted hacen mis días felices.
Espectacular.

Thank you Steve, John & Roger. The best moments of joy & happiness in my life are while listening to your music.
Tremendo guitarrista.
13:15 a bit of Firth of Fifth. 👍🏻
Steve a Genesis (Guy), (Playing beautifully) classical spanish guitar and the wonder call horizons
¡Magnífico! Grandes recuerdos. Greetings from Madrid. Spain
Just came across this video, by chance now. It's an amazing performance by Steve & the rest of the guys here. I have a lot of Steve's music on LP & CD. And of course the stuff he did with Genesis, as well!
Grande Mr. Hackett.
Steve's music is amazing. I love this.
As always, a beautiful Steve guitar work... MAESTRO!!!
Muchas gracias por publicar esto... GRACIAS!
They are incredible talented. beautiful music!
I wish he’d do these types of shows in the US. 😢
Mr. HACKETT is a superb MASTER!!!!! Ever and ever a super great MASTER!!!
real music :)
Yikes, what a guitarist, a virtuoso indeed, seeing him at Newcastle upon Tyne City Hall next month! 😁👍
Pool of Memories is only that short intro, Steve goes into "Bay of Kings" after that.
He’s so mesmerizing….
Jean-Claude van Damme covering Steve Hackett. Almost cried.
I saw him in that tour in Barcelona. Outstanding!
my God
Hackett at his very BEST.
Pool of Memory would make the perfect opening to Fountain of Salmacis. Keep em waiting.
Thank you Nuca Lia!
Superbo!
Great Steve
Absolutely gorgeous!!!!
Perfecto!!!
Qué bestia.
No words magics musicians by uk
Amazing!
Enorme
Nice to be able to see this little concert ! This reminds me of good memories seeing Steve live alone with a classical guitar and much later as a trio like here. I guess you couldn't have a better image & sound definition but that's OK. Thank you for uploading.
this is not a rock concert as some of you seem to be use to. in clasiccal music people do not interrupt. This kind of music has no frontier. Just like the Grandes Maestros.
11:00 BEST TUNE ON HERE?
WOW!
He was in his Bill Bixby phase.
1:43 Horrizons
Demais!
He has a very strange right hand technique on classical but still gets a great sound.
Ma che buonza
Oh my God, he is playing Firth of Fifth, After the Ordeal, and nobody reacts, were they sleeping or what???
mansant2 They are respecful, idiot.
Disculpa, sé respetuoso tú y no insultes, yo no he insultado a nadie.
Where are "Blood on the rooftops"??
They were listening you moron
Suena muy Flamenco
Steve Hackett and Ritchie Blackmore play similar the classical guitar!
Sort of but i prefer Blackmore on electric guitar. Steve Hackett plays both extremely well
I had to laugh at the Spanish dame at the end calling it "Genesis Re-viz-AYE-ted"!
Would the Spanich dame laugh at YOUR Spanish pronunciation, dear? I´m Spanish and fluent in English. I made my own journey to fluency living in my own country. I don´t assume other people can speak Spanish. Why do you think she should be perfect when pronouncing an English word? Because she´s on TV? Ok, we´ll have to check how good Britons are when pronouncing Spanish words on TV.
@@EnglishTomanotJuanma It’s STILL funny 8 years later! 🤣🤣🤣😎
I Think the audience were in there for the free sandwiches because none of them reacted to the old classic Genesis material...bit embarrassing really....Superb playing from the most talented musician (arguably) in the classic version of Genesis...I kind if cringe at the beginning of 'Ace of Wands'....its kind of 'Living in the Past'....if you see what I mean...Tull fans will know....All said...Really enjoyed the Gig..
Pete Davies What a gift it must be to create music that for some listeners or acolyte's has been a friend over the decades and Steve has certainly created such music for me, 'Voyage of the Acolyte' still leaves me spellbound from when i first heard it in 76 as a 16 year old, "let's go living in the past" indeed as Ian sang, I'm a Tullite as well. Good to see Steve with his highly talented brother John on here as well and Steve's old mate (Sir) Roger King on keyboards.
son Españoles,no entienden de buena música
Pete Davies They were actually there for the free tacos.
+Pete Davies This was a pre-recorded gig for a spanish tv program on the second national channel. This program used to air late at night for a very reduced audience target. Most probably the assistants at this concert didn't know much about Steve's music because the organizers had to fill the room up with 'random' public. Sandwiches were delivered most certainly though I don't think they got any tacos as someone says below since that is more of a mexican thing.
***** I heard the reduced audience targets got spanish style tacos and the random public got sandwiches. Still a cool free buffet either way. Spanish style peanuts were also offered
Seems to be avoiding A and M, broken nails?
Sometimes he looks so much like Tim Curry to me.
After hearing " Horizons" played by Steve anyone can suicide,'cause none will hear nothing better...
Wow I couldn't understand a thing but Steve can speak Spanish?
Why would the producer think we want to see shots of the keyboard player's hands?
Because he/she knows I do?
@@EnglishTomanotJuanma I don't remember making the comment, but it must have been because there was far too much of the keyboard player on-screen in a PROGRAMME ABOUT STEVE HACKETT. If you want to see the keyboard player go watch videos about him!
It must have taken some nerve to play classical style guitar in front of a Spanish audience.
I know all Spanish people aren't guitar 'experts' anymore than all Americans are 'gun slingers'
but it's the feeling I'd have. Ha!
I´m Spanish and musically literate. I can assure that he made a better job than 99.9% of u Spaniards would. Good music knows no nationalities, enjoy it!
That's a mad looking flute he's playing! It looks like he's sat on it and bent it all out of shape! Good idea though.
terrypussypower It's called a Vertical Flute.
permaveg
A vertical flute eh! A really good idea.
terrypussypower He's one of the very few flautist's in the world that use one.
permaveg
I've certainly never seen one before this, which is surprising as it seems like such an obvious way to modify the instrument.
terrypussypower It does to me as well, it seem's easier than the traditional side style flute.
it's pretty obvious from watching this as to who the REAL musicians were in GENESIS! Hackett, and Phil Collins - who was an astounding drummer, especially from "Nursery Cryme" , through "Wind & Wuthering".
mark darnell I would add his contribution to Jazz-Fusion, Brand X (first record, Unorthodox Behavior) is also astounding 👍🏼✨
Tony Banks was also an astounding pianist/guitarist and Mike Rutherford was also an astounding guitarist/bass guitarist.
Ridiculous statement. Are you seriously saying Tony Banks wasn’t a real musician ? 😂😂😂.
AND CLAPTON IS CONSIDERED A GUITARIST...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
He was considered God...
I find it bizarre he can play fast acoustic guitar, yet doesn't transfer that speed when playing electric guitar. Still magnifico!
Graham Mckenzie He can, he just composes his electric songs his way, which emphasizes individual tone and notes over shredding. His Firth of Fifth solo is considered one of the best in rock ever, and it was the antithesis of speed.
He can be very fast on the electric too as I've seen him do. Also, this isn't even half as fast as he can play
He does not do that because he is playing a completely difeferent music genre. But Steve can and knows to do anything he wants. He rules the techniques. And remember: play fast does not mean play well.
You have some watching and listening to do, because he does. But only when the music needs it. He always puts his virtuosity in service of the music, never the other way around. He is egoless, that is one of the reasons why he is a living masterpiece of his own category.
+Bernardo Saez Fernandez . Exacto.
