Ultraman Clash & Thrash Playset Bandai Dreamworks [REVIEW]

I didn't see this anywhere else on CZcams, so here it is! The figures are fairly common on Ebay, but the set is a little harder to find (especially at a reasonable price).

Look up "Ultraman: Towards the Future." First English language (live action) Ultra series, filmed in Australia. The only English language Ultra series to receive an American broadcast (late 1991 to early 1992). Of note, DreamWorks was quickly absorbed by Bandai America, and the original prototype for the Ultraman Great figure was actually repurposed for the original 1993 Power Rangers toys...since Haim Saban easily redirected their stateside attention to adapting another juggernaut "tokusatsu" series, Super Sentai (Power Rangers).

The soldier figures look like they are based off characters from the show. The wrinkled face guy is UMA commander Arthur Grant, the second one looks like a copy of the Jack Shindo figure, and the third one looks based off of Jean Echo. 1991 was supposed to be Ultraman's big break into the USA, not only toys but there were comics and a Super Nintendo game. There were delays in getting the show on the air, plus there were only 13 episodes, but by that time Power Rangers took over.

I REMEMBER THIS I had that Ultraman figure with Jack Shindo I used to watch this show back in 1991-92 super early saturday morning on fox five N.Y. The precursor for what was to come, Mighty Power Rangers! 1993 that took the U.S.by storm
