the best example for this is foreigners enjoying leo and vikram movie ... becz they dont know the stardom of vijay, arjun, sajay dut or loki, they just go in to watch a indian cinema and get satisfied to the core, but here with all the stardom we feel loki wasted sanjay dut eventhough sanjay dut is just a side character in the movie as per loki's writing, becoz this aint event based film, this is simple a character study film, idhe taan commercial element ode naan avan illai nu eduthaange, another best example for this kind of film is "The usual suspect", adhule kude climax paathe pireku "appo ivelev nerem time spend panni paathe na muttal ah" apidi nu keke vechiruvange.
This story is all about parthiban and whether he wants to be leo or not, thats it ... this aint about vijay, sanjay dutt, arjun or madonna.... the whole movie is on the shoulder of parthiban thats how its written, for example: after the cafe fight scene no where in the movie you will see parthiban turning right after someone calls parthiban, he will only turn after calling his name 2-3 times.. because he strongly believes leo is back inside him and he dont want that to happen..

In my opinion, Master and Vikram wasn't bad but it wasn't ground breaking. They were enjoyable but not as Maanagaram and Kaithi and I genuinely think its because of like you said money but there's also time. For Loki, he had barely any time to write for Master and Leo. Vikram was decent because Loki had time to write the script and Aandavar gave him full creative control. For Master it was a commercial movie and it worked. For Leo, again high expectations, producer changing script and no time to fully write a good script .

Tbh, IRAIVI, petta, j.t and mahaan are better than jigarthanda. Except for assault sethu it had nothing. Weak protagonist, nonsensical plot of 'forgetting' the video recording evidence (which wouldn't have necessarily destroyed him in court anyway), and absurdity of sethu not watching any scenes before release.
Kaidhi also is not amazingly written. The constables abandon the civilians in the station for no reason when it will make their situation harder the next day after the dust settles. The inquiry which otherwise would have gone only to Bejoy would now attack them too for abandoning their posts without at least sending the innocents home.
