Hi there! I’m Brazilian and a huge fan of Brigadeiro (almost perfect your accent). You did it right! This is the type of comfort food we learn with our mom on childhood. A tip: sometimes we cook less to get it less tick and eat using spoons. It’s lovely to share with loved one at home ❤️

I like cooking it too much (got the tip from a friend, and it gets a slight toffee note; as long as you don’t stop stirring, it won’t burn) and then turning off the gas and adding 100g of heavy cream. Perfect brigadeiro de colher

Oh, this was great! Now I gotta make some brigadeiro, too lol.
As a Brazilian, I can say this looks pretty authentic. This is the best and fastest comfort food for rainy days, bad days or chilling out with some friends. In about 10 minutes it's ready to go. In cold days it's nice to eat this baby straight out of the pan, alone or sharing it with some friends (we don't care too much about eating from the same pan), watching a movie or whatever.
I might warn, though, that European/Asian people could find this way too sweet for their standards since Brazilians LOVE very sweet desserts and I find European (especially British)/Asian desserts almost unsweetened lol.

Hi Donal, brazilian and big fan of you since that wonderful chocolate fudge cake here 💛 you did the recipe perfectly! Most people use instant chocolate powder with added sugar (like those that kids add to milk to drink) instead of cocoa powder on the recipe since it's cheaper. Also, for rolling we'd use regular caster sugar instead of icing sugar, or chocolate sprinkles as a lot of other brazilians have commented. This is a most loved recipe around here and a classic at birthday parties. Love your channel, thank you for inspiring us to cook!

I just found this recipe randomly. Looked already to multiple different recipes. What I don't like people use butter on hands to roll them up. Someone wrote cold water is beter. Then I don't like how they put in in plate. One recipe just put it on baking form in baking paper. Way easier and less sticky, messy because you can just cut them up, then roll into something. I'd use different sprinkles or coconut pieces, sugar powder. Can't wait to try it out.

Lovely, Donal! One amazing thing you can do is to replace the cocoa powder for good quality chocolate (around 100g to 1 can of condensed milk). The texture gets so silky, you wouldn’t belive it!
And there is a version of this with coconut that we brazilians absolutely love! The recipe for that is:
    1 can of condensed milk
    20g butter
    100g white chocolate (chopped)
    100g of grated coconut
In the end, you just roll the brigadeiros in more coconut. It’s really that good! I hope you try it!

Traditionally it’s rolled in chocolate sprinkles. I also would suggest a more details explanation on how you actually cook it. This treat needs to be cooked until it’s no longer stick in the pot. Those are my suggestions.

    @carolfsanisme Před 5 lety

You said it quite right! If you cook a little less you got a Brigadeiro de Colher (Spoon brigadeiro), just let it cool down on a plate and share with someone. I would say to never stop mixing while on the stove, or it will burn and you get some sugar-candy-style pieces. It's good, but not what you are aiming for.
Actually you made the fancy/gourmet version. Usually we use margarine (it's cheaper an everybody got it in the fridge) and i never used cocoa powder or actually powdered chocolate (this stuff is pretty expensive here, so it's a nope). We usually use something like Nesquik (in brazil, nesquik is only strawberry flavored, and for chocolate we got nescau).
And it's a 1:2:3 recipe (1 can of condensed milk, 2 tablespoons of margarine and 3 tablespoons of nescau), so i would guess your mixture it's a little too flowy.
    .
I truly believe the whole world should be able to eat brigadeiro. It's god sent and it should spread as His words.
And try to roll it with a little bit of margarine in your hands... it won't stick and you will get a shiny perfect ball. And roll it on some sprinkles. It's a must on kid's birthdays parties. The coconut version is called Beijinho (little kiss) and is a little less sweet.

You look like a italian saying “brigadeiro” 😂 but it’s a good pronounce :3 thanks for making our beloved brigadeiro 😌 the only thing i recommend is to use chocolate sprinkles instead of cocoa powder 😉

Hi! It's really different from chocolate truffles, specially regarding texture! The taste is really different too, and you dont have to roll it in to balls, you can just eat it with a spoon XD and its easier to make! you should try it! :)

im a brazilian living in london, its much sweeter than chocolate truffles and truffles have a bit to it that brigadeiro doesnt. Its very creamy, melts in your mouth.
