You want to avoid any unnecessary baggy-ness as it makes you look sloppy. Tee shirts might fit slightly tighter then dress shirts, just because they are a knit fabric. A tee shirt hem should hit right at your belt line. As a rule of thumb a button up hem should hit right between the belt line and the bottom of the crotch of your pants - although when it comes to dress shirts specifically, those tend to be slightly longer as they are meant to be tucked into your pants. Sleeves of a dress shirt should be long enough so that when worn under a blazer, they extend about an inch past the end of the blazer.

Thank you, will do! To answer your questions, yes and yes. Khakis and chinos are great with a blazer, but stick to the textured rule we mentioned. We wouldn't recommend wearing khakis with a suit blazer.

thetylife It is okay to wear dark jeans with a dark blazer. Its a very modern and sleek look. If you do go that route, then just try to break it up a little with your shirt color. You could try white for a classic look, or a light to midtone grey for a more modern look. If you go with a color, try something a bit more muted versus bright colors, as bright colors have a very strong contrast with the dark tones - and that could start to look a little "cheap". As far as the lighter jeans go… its not necessarily off the table, its just a more difficult look to pull off. The biggest issue is that lighter jeans tend to look a lot more casual - which doesn't always pair well with a blazer. If your jeans are a slim or straight fit and are fairly uniform in color without any rips or holes, then I think they could work. In this situation, I would keep your shirt neutral - grey, white, black, navy - depending on the color of the blazer.

I would look for something with a tropical feel. The reason I say this is because you don't want to be rocking out while sweating like a stuck pig. A tropical type blazer or sports coat will have NO lining in it which will allow it to breathe easier than one with a liner. Without knowing what your set is like or what else you're going to be wearing, it's hard to say what you should get. You can seldom go wrong with a Navy blue blazer.
I would suggest the same, a nice slim sport coat that is unstructured would be nice , make sure to get a sport coat that has a slightly higher armhole for maximum mobility . Go with cotton or hopsack , although the performance fabrics have indeed came a very long way since the 1980s where the polyester were hard as a cardboard and rough like sandpaper . If you are going for this route, I would recommend Ministry Apparel for their NASA based technology . They are not for the guy on a budget though , but if you get them , they are awesome.
Also the brown strap on the right guy doesn't match to the rest of his outfit (in my opinion). Would be better with black leather strap or stainless steel.

Let me run a quick idea with u guys. Would a navy blazer, with a white dress shirt (slimmer fit), dark slim jeans and white vans work for an outfit? No, the dress shirt indicates formal or semi-formal; Therefore, you wouldn't want to wear "Vans" or similar. If you were wearing a sweater under a sports coat, (not under a blazer) then you might be able to pull it off.
What about black jeans. Say, a dark blue (Navy) structured blazer, with white(black dotted) shirt, black Levis, white and blue pocket square, and brown dress slip-on?

One shouldn't wear a suit jacket with jeans as there's a huge clash in terms of formality and often times in terms of fabric and fit as well. As they mentioned in the video, a suit is made to be worn together and both the jacket and trousers are made from the same piece of fabric so it matches, hence why wearing them separately is generally discouraged. This is even more so the case with black as it's insanely hard to match (unless you have a suit). In terms of formality, a blazer proper is a step below a suit jacket.

You can seldom go wrong with Navy but a nice olive or brown works well too. Black shoes with Navy, brown with olive and brown.

Try a different approach to your shirts when wearing blazer. Go for solid, stripes or gingham squares.. Long sleeve. Cotton is best as far as fabric
