A necessary evil these days 🙁
It took me a minute to realise that I DIDN'T have dirt on my screen though! 😂
I always knew that Rassilon was planning to return as a member of the local village council... he's plotting his inevitable revenge, slowly but surely...
Doctor Who Actors Appearing in Hot Fuzz:
- Simon Pegg (played the Station Manager in a Series 1 episode)
- Nick Frost (played Santa Claus in a Christmas Special)
- Timothy Dalton (played Rassilon in the David Tennant specials before his eventual regeneration)
- Bill Nighy (played a museum curator named Dr. Black in the eoisode with Vincent Van Gogh)
- Olivia Colman (played one of the disguises for the villain in Matt Smith's debut, The Eleventh Hour)
- David Bradley (was given William Hartnell's role as the First Doctor in 3 episodes of the Capaldi era, guest starred in the episode "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship," and was even in an episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures)
As far as I know, that's all of them.
Actually, David Bradley only appeared in 2 episodes of the Capaldi era. The "third" episode you're probably thinking of is "The Power of The Doctor" which is from the Whittaker era.
Plus, he originally portrayed the First Doctor's actor William Hartnell in the 2013 docudrama An Adventure in Space and Time.
Bill Bailey played Droxil on the show in 2011 (The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe).
Anne Reid! Florence Finnegan from Smith and Jones and Leslie Tiller in Hot Fuzz.
There are a few more:
Jim Broadbent (the 11th Doctor in The Curse of Fatal Death)
Kevin Eldon (Ribbons in It Takes You Away)
Ron Cook (Magpie in The Idiot's Lantern)
Tim Barlow (Tyssan in Destiny of the Daleks)
and a few others who popped up in Torchwood or Big Finish productions.
My favourite Who-tuber reviewing my favourite film of all time?! I’ve been going through a really rough patch emotionally recently, and today has been my first good day for ages. This video is just the icing on the cake. Cheers Harbo. Keep up the great work ❤️
NATHAN GIBSON MUST SPEAK.
The fact it was filmed in Wells, the smallest city in the uk as well as wrights hometown, just shows the depth of the parody
rip Somerfield, when i was at uni the petrol station across the road had a somerfield shop which changed to co op in the second year, we all still just called it somerfield though
sorry about the filter everyone! i tried everything i could, and tested many different edits, but the copyright holders were just so strict! (more than the BBC, if you can believe it!)
Honestly didn't really notice, I think you did well for the hand you was dealt.
@@-sk8-437 thank you!
it's a really good filter... like, it kinda enhances the vibes of lots of the shots... would you be okay saying how exactly you did it? I totally need to learn how to use filters myself coz it can be such a nightmare
@@LucyliciousDoccyWho it’s mostly a still dust asset with a black background, i changed it to the ‘add’ blending mode (i think) and then added a ken burns effect so that it gives a sort of parallax vibe. there’s also an anamorphic lens plug-in i have that i added over the top.
@@joeyunderwood that's rly neat, tysm!
I actually saw something about the Cornetto Trilogy the other day by another CZcamsr who points out that Simon Pegg's characters are those that don't actually change; the world changes so they don't have to. Nicholas Angel doesn't actually change at all; all the ludicrous action scenes at the end of the movie are all done with police officers, nobody dies, and everyone does the appropriate paperwork, the only difference being that he's doing it louder than normal.
It's a really interesting perspective that I actually bought into; even though Angel banters with the other officers at the end, there's nothing to show that he's loosened up, only that he's got rid of all the injustices that riled him up in the first place.
That was a really good video essay.
I love how nobody dies in the climax (well except for tom weaver but that was an accident)
He tripped and fell on his own sea mine
This film is an absolute masterpiece, not only as the best of the cornetto trilogy but one of the finest British films ever!
It might be one of the best written and edited movies of all time. The script is so tight.
WE NEED TO KNOW. WHAT HAPPENED TO NATHANGIBSON
It's definitely the best of the Cornetto trilogy, so eminently quotable. It also shows the trend behind the best parodies, that they come from a place of love of the thing being parodied
Here come the fuzz
(Here come the drums)
My favourite line in the film.
The best quote I remember is Simon Pegg saying he wanted to make the UK police look cool compared to US police. He definitely did with this movie.
I think it was Innuendo Studio that said it best: The Cornetto Trilogy is not about the main characters growing up, seeing what they lack and adapt, it is about the world changing so the main characters can they the way they are.
The montage at the beginning is a parody of the join the police adverts in the 2000s
This movie is as funny as it is brilliantly written and acted. Hot Fuzz is a perfect example of a parody made with love. It can poke fun at their tropes while being endearing. It's why Spaceballs is so good. It's the same kinda deal, a parody made with a love and reverence for the source material.
Yeah I was thinking it’s got a lot of dr who actors in it… what have we got
Simon pegg - Nicholas angel/the editor
Nick frost - Danny butterman/santa
Timothy dalton - Simon skinner/rassilon
Olivia Coleman - Doris/prisoner zero
David Bradley - farmer/first doctor
Bill Nighy - chief inspector/art critic
Jim Broadbent - frank butterman/11th doctor from the curse of fatal death
Bill Bailey- receptionist/guy from the dr widow and the wardrobe
I think that’s all, but there could be more
Crazy numbers…
Kevin Eldon - Tony Fisher/Ribbons
Anne Reid - Leslie Tiller/Mrs. Finnegan
Ron Cook - George Merchant/Mr. Magpie
The UK isn't that big of a place. Sooner or later even Taskmaster will run out of well known comedians. 😂
@@MrAdomus great spots! Anne Reid was also in the curse of fenric as well, can’t remember her name but she was one of the nuns
Yarp
...Narp?

This is one of my all time favorite movies. I loved The whole trilogy, but Hot Fuzz is absolutely the best. I can watch this movie 1000 times and still love it.
Same i watched it last night after about 10 years. I forgot how amazing it is. I'd happily watch it again tonight.
Hoping this does well! There can never be enough praise for Hot Fuzz!
Oh we already know Harbo cooked with this one, come onnnnn
It's the best out of the Cornetto trilogy imo. Simon Pegg & Nick Frost are in top form.
I need to watch hot fuzz again
Alright, I’ll rewatch Hot Fuzz again 😌
One of my fave films of all time, it’s so good and perfectly paced and edited too
I always thought that one of the big differences between this and the buddy cop movies it's parodying is that the shootout doesn't result in any deaths. It's ridiculous and over the top and not a single person dies in it, and everyone still gets booked in the end. It's also still a ton of fun to watch.
Timothy Dalton really does play villains excellently.
Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy is one of the few British inventions I can get behind, aswell as football, Harbo and Wholmes.
I don’t remember this episode of Doctor Who
Please do videos on the rest of the Cornetto trilogy and Spaced.
Great video man
when I saw this in my sub list I was like YES
This movie is what the first episode of k9 and company should of been 😂
A new film just came out with a similar concept of suspicious goings on in a seemingly normal little village - Swede Caroline, though it's a parody of true crime docs instead of buddy cop movies. I went to see it today and whilst it wasn't bad, it didn't quite hit for me, and I can't quite place why - would love to hear your thoughts if you see it!
What?! No mention of Cate Blanchett's cameo as Angel's girlfriend?! 🤬 Peter Jackson's blink and you would miss it cameo was spotted but not Cate's?! 😂
Just the one swan actually!
The only other buddy cop thing I think the UK had in the 2000s of the top of my head was life on Mars and ashes to ashes (it really depends on where you would class it as one considering what was actually going on)
Ah f**k, your going to make me watch hot fuzz again
The Wickerman being an example of the policeman always having to be 'in on it' is yrmmm... a dark take I won't lie 🤣
The farmer is legit a person I live in the countryside theres more shot guns than people
Great analysis
Now then fancy going to the shop?
Next time let's go to thaddeus nook time tours
13:33 Yeah RIP Somerfield. Also Safeway; the morrisons it got replaced with in my town is so mid
For the greater good
I wonder what would happen if BBC sells half of Doctor Who property to Japanese Media companies like NHK. Would they eventually make an anime adaptation of Doctor Who?
It’s for the greater good.
The greater good
23:35 how could the NWA hide killing the youth without their parents or the other cops noticing it?
Very cool!
oh yeah
The the bacteria
Can you review Shaun of the Dead
I invite you all to make a cop movie name with only the first adjective and noun you detect around you. I got 'Saucy Desk'. What about you?
Too late already grabbed my seamine. Don’t worry, it’s deactivated
I knew Rassilon was the killer… kind of 😂
This is one of my favourite films... so many jokes 😂
Anything from the shop?
What do you have against Nostalgia critic?
I like Hot Fuzz
What do you have against Nostalgia Critic. If it’s his movies that he makes, I haven’t seen but I’m in no rush to watch. If it’s his videos they are funny most of the time.
Doug Walker isn't a good person, like his toxic behaviour towards people who work for him is well documented. So yeah, there's a lot to not like about him.
For the greater good
