      Have the Nothing 2, Edge Plus 2023, zenfone9 and pixel 8 pro. Can do the same tasks on each phone and the one that constantly can't get me through a day is the Pixel 8 pro. Love this review of practical use and using a phone as a phone. Not sitting inside on wifi all day. This phone is really good in my opinion and has turned into my daily driver.

    My wife and I both have a Nothing2. I got the earbuds as did she, and we LOVE these devices. A fantastic price point for a premium device that doesn't require to be plugged into a charger every 4 hours, nor does it get hot after talking on it for a while. We LOVE it.

    I've had the Phone(2) for the last couple weeks and it's not a bad phone. The glyphs definitely feel like a gimmick, but otherwise it just feels like what a generic android would be and cost if Samsung and Apple hadn't spent the last few years competing to see who could fleece the highest premium from consumers by waving a bunch of shiny features they don't need at them.

    • @jlm_pix
      @jlm_pix Před 9 měsíci +6

      Then again... now that we've passed the month mark on the phone my opinion of it continues to slide. Feels a bit like paying $700 to beta test something - especially when you talk to Nothing support about issues and a lot of the response is that they're a new company so they're still working on making better devices in the future. I'm about 90% sure that within the next couple months I'm going to eat the cost of the phone as a loss and just switch to a more established brand with better technical and accessory support. Especially after the nothing ear sticks I bought to go with the phone had the "right earbud volume failure" I didn't even realize was a thing until it happened to me and I googled for solutions.

    • @LevenZ69
      @LevenZ69 Před 9 měsíci +2

      uhh... I used the phone(1), and im on phone(2) rn. I was tired of using those shitty samsungs (I don't get flaghips as daily drivers) especially with its UI and other chinese phones. This feels like a refresh to me. I really love this device and I ain't gonna buy any other phone or brand of phone until this company is alive

    • @jlm_pix
      @jlm_pix Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@LevenZ69 My phone(2) is sitting in a drawer as a backup in case my Flip breaks. Was too frustrating to keep as my main phone, tbh. Auto brightness was weirdly aggressive, it was super hard to find a case for it (I don't like clear cases, they get way too dirty too quickly), I usually set the grid to 5x6 so most of the widgets didn't look right anymore (which feels like a bizarre oversight). I'd have returned it if it didn't take so long to hear back from their CSR that I missed the cutoff date. Between that and the ear (stick) that stopped working right after only two weeks, it'll be quite a while before I send anymore money off to nothing.

    • @LevenZ69
      @LevenZ69 Před 9 měsíci

      @@jlm_pix To be honest, auto brightness was a bit of a flaw with the Phone(1) too. But I don't use auto-brightness on any of my devices, I used it on my OP6 for a while and disabled it, I just don't like auto-brightness in general. And cases is a bit of a problem if you don't want a clear one, clear case is the way to go because that's the thing that stands out the most in the phone. To me, I bought a case from spigen which are known to not get dirt or turn yellow, I used that case on my NP1 too. Although I love the device, I get what you don't like about it. I set my grid to 5x6 too but I don't mind the smaller grid with the OS 2.0 because it feels super refreshing and I am willing to give that up, and it's actually has become a benefit rather than a con. I've had the ear sticks in the white version from the last 7 months and they work fantastically, pairing was a bit of a hit or a miss at the initial stage of the product but since has not caused my any inconvenience, they need to improve their quality control majorly for the earphones for sure! Although I didn't have to encounter their customer support because I didn't have any issues. I love the device and will keep it for a long time, they surely have huge issues with quality control though. I feel like that's the only brand apart from apple on which I am willing to spend even a grand because I don't daily flagships because I am too frequent to change phones and don't want to waste a ton of money doing it. I am planning to keep the phone(2) and will pass it along to the family when the phone(3) drops next year. I used the s21+ for a while and that's when I decided I am not going Samsung anymore, their UI feels inconsistent, they literally have a 12 fps animation for unlocking and animation for plugging in, the notification center swipe feels laggy and unusable, linear ass animations without any joy of using them, that's the only good thing I found about the ColorOS/OxygenOS, they have super smooth animations although may feel a bit sluggish at first. They had very not fun animations and sometimes the phone lagged on me, had buggy animations. I love the PixelUI, ColorOS/OxygenOS, iOS, and NothingOS for having such great animations. I get the feeling of using a flagship, from build to software, everything feels top notch, Initially I wanted to go for the Sony Xperia 1 V but decided to give this a try, no regrets so far but I will be later down the line getting the Xperia for sure, I love photography and that's the only flaw I found with this phone, the auto-mode, expert mode is pretty good though, and that's what matters to me, the expert mode! Cheers! You surely should give the phone(2) another try! It's a great device!

      @@bgaming531 As someone who actually has the phone, it's a lot more useful than you think. It makes you put it screen down so you don't get distracted constantly, and it also just looks hella cool lol. Definitely not a phone for everyone, but things like the glyph timer are incredibly useful when you wanna just have a timer that doesn't make you keep opening your phone to check (plus you can see it from across the room!).

    I might have missed it in your video but what network were you using? My usage is very similar to yours in videos but I usually get half the screen time with the various phones you review. I am starting to wonder if it is a Tmobile network thing

    This is such a GREAT way of showing off this phone's capabilities, no nonsense.
    On another note, I've been using Galaxy S22+ with its rather... terrible battery life. Is it worth grabbing Nothing Phone 2 over my current phone?

    Im from Kerala. South side of India. Im a phone buff and i like the way you review different from other youtube tech reviewers. Now almost all phones have same specs and is at its peak. Your videos are so subtle and also have an advantage of seeing places that i would probably never see me in entire life. Thanks man and keep up the good work 😊.

    My issue with devices now is that for review it appears that the camera is at the forefront and the rest of the device is in the background unless it's foldable is this a demonstration of a lack of innovation in the market as the on innovation/improvement is the camera is mobile innovation starting to flat line

    The idea of Nothing phone is exciting, it is different from boring phones from big companies. But as this video shows, the image and video quality of this phone is still far from flagship phones, and at this price point. S23 or iphone 14 are more solid and reliable choices. If they consider drop price or improve camera quality to the mainstream, it is still an interesting phone not a good or great phone.
