I recently volunteered at a zoo running the carousel and whenever the calliope played this song all I could think of was those two teeth bouncing in the middle of his face.
Back in 78-80, I used to watch Doctor Who, Monty Python, SNL and Hitchhikers guide ,On Saturday nights with my friends and my BF. (We're still married.) My Grandma would hang out watching tv with us sometimes even though she wasn't impressed by most of it, But Terry Gilliam's animations busted her up big time! Especially the Dancing teeth, And the military ballerinas trading dancing heads.
Someone on another video identified the recording. It's from a record called Pride Of The Ride, released by Marble Arch Records. Discogs link here: www.discogs.com/Giant-Hooghuy-Shaharazad-Pride-Of-The-Ride-In-Stereo/release/2194849 (Also the record was played at 45rpm)
This was my all time favorite Monty Python animation sketch. It was imaginatively done by Terry Gilliam.
Okay, now whenever I see “Under the Double Eagle,” my brain goes CONRAD POOHS!
