    Hi! The locker with someone else’s parcel opened because someone who was sending parcel didnt finish sending on the screen of parcel locker machine or clicked „cancel” without realising that the parcel is unsent and the parcel locker machine doesnt have this parcel registered in this locker. When such a situation happens, please contact customer service

      New customers should be possible to give a solution to each other, so the whole system can help for the bennefit of all. Its much easyer to give them a fast solution, then to let them make call's for others. Just a simple recolect order or new send order, would be a easy solution. The software should know what locker was given to the customer that did not finish the whole proces (after 3 or 5min) for sending or to still receive it, when a new customer scans it again to replace, to help the customer that made the mistake, or the driver that forgot to pick it up/out. "Replace for sending" or "Replace for receiving" option/screenbutton...

    This just happened to me this morning too. Although I was using a large locker. I didn't know what to do either, so I risked putting my parcel in with the other one, and am hoping that the delivery driver gets there before the person collecting does. I'm now anxiously waiting for my message to say it's been collected by the driver 🤞

    This just happened to me! I was "sending" a parcel, and when the locker opened, another parcel was already in there! I just put mine in there on top of it. It was the very first time I had used a parcel locker service, so I was surprised and didn't know what to do. Oh well, we'll see what happens eh! Thanks for the video, very useful for us newbies.

    i usually open another locker and close the one with a parcel in. Sometimes they pop open with someone's parcel its a repeated issue. Luckily no theft because of it yet. Glad you have it recorded maybe they will try to fix it finally because it happens on LOADS.

    What you should've done is take the other operating parcel out and then scan it and then place it in a locker, that way the system will register the parcel as being dropped off.

    This happened to me a while ago, my parcel hadn’t moved from the lockers so I called up Inpost as it was one of their lockers. You have to call them from the actual locker because they will tap in remotely. Takes a few minutes as the touchscreen goes blank as they do their thing and locate your parcel which by human error is stored in the wrong locker. Unfortunately if the online instructions aren’t followed correctly or if you have an active child with you (like I did)closing the doors before you then the item can get stored into the wrong locker and the parcel won’t go anywhere as your parcel will have been recorded into an empty locker. The empty lockers don’t open for the collection driver so your parcel will be just sat there forever. They have CCTV all over the machines and the guy I spoke with said surprisingly hardly any parcels get stolen as most people just close the door and opt for the next size door. The only solution really to stop that door from opening is to take it out and put it in a larger locker with your own parcel as that’s the only way the driver will ever see it and the locker is stored with your parcel as a reference anyway so your parcel is still getting delivered. I’m glad my parcel was still there anyway after about 5 days, that locker box must have opened for every person using that locker and it was a big Harry Potter box set 😂
    Anyhow i was really impressed with inpost as the computer wizz kid on the phone delt with the situation quickly and said it happens a lot so if you suspect your parcel hasn’t been collected then go straight back to the locker to sort it out 😀

    • @airportdocumentaries
      @airportdocumentaries Před rokem

      Better solution would be to take out the missing parcel and then scan it if it has a label then place it in the locker that opens up, that way the locker will register the parcel

    Not really used Hermes before for deliveries. Probably not the cheapest but we use Royal Mail and have a drop and go account. So we just drop a sack of all our parcels into the post office and then they stick all the stamps on etc and just charge our account. So in and out. Can't do evening drop off's though.

      Thing is though if there’s issues caused by Hermes will your buyer blackmark you or Hermes? All very well saving a little bit of money but ultimately it could reflect badly on you, especially with you having a physical walk in shop soon to be opening. I would say ditch Hermes ASAP and use a proper mail service/courier that are far more trustworthy.

    • @thecomputingchronicles
      @thecomputingchronicles Před 3 lety

      @@JamesSmith-ru7mm We've not used Hermes before so I've got no real opinion on them, but I do trust the Royal Mail and their Drop and Go service makes it really easy. I just fly down to the local post office once a day with a sack and they process the lot and send them how I like. I can jump any queues in the post office, so I'm in and out fast. I don't need to mess around printing labels etc.

    Maybe best to take out and put in medium locker with your own so the driver actually gets both parcels, he won't get that boohoo parcel as it won't open when he collects them in morning as it'll show as empty.

    I sent a parcel via Vinted. The locker already had another item in there. Now my item won't track. Vinted refused to compensate me.

  • @yellowstone2ndtrumpet304

    There should be a software system atached to it to scan the lost or wrong placed item, so that it can be replaced in a new "to send" or "to receive" locker with locker number, by a new customer incase of a mistake. By the new lockated track position, the real owner can then retrace its parcel. The software most know where the parcel came from or needs to go/stay, by its barcode. Further there can be people who die during the proces or in hospital for longer periods in wich the parcels stay stuck in the boxes. Whats the maximum date a parcel may stay inside and how do parcel collectors know about these problems?

The only problems I've had at my drop off when the labels won't scan then I end up taking them to a shop instead I don't drive so that's a mission.
