Notre Dame will be at least 10-2, and it is a ridiculous hater myth that it would be “magic” that they would make the playoff with that record - having played at Texas A&M, USC, and Ga Tech, and had Florida State and Louisville.
How do you get Notre Dame to join a conference... you leave them out of the playoffs... I'm not saying that I agree, but at this point, you scan out, and ask what would these people do to get what they want. And the answer is anything and everything they can. Once you realize that, you realize that nothing is out of the realm of possibilities...
Agree that ND should be 10-2 with that schedule. The coaching changes above all look really good and a huge upgrade. It's unfortunate the level of OC and WR coach they had last year as clearly the offense at large was not clicking outside RBs and stayed stagnant if not actually declining and being disfunctional. Oline was really spotty too and it boiled down to basic errors in technique even from older players. Not sure what went on there but you'd think they get this under control this year
Whatever happens is going to be fun because even if you are not ranked halfway through the season , realistically your team still has a chance depending on what's left on their schedule...that like 30 teams still engaged in a season.
Mike Dembrock is really good play caller this year, but is it him or Joe Sloan that is the one responsible for Daniels growth? Regardless, It is a good get for Notre Dame. I think that LSU let him go because have Joe Sloan (spread/air raid concept) and Cortez Hankton are very capable and are better recruiters for the south.
The top half of the B12 and the ACC with ND should make there own league and you can’t tell me that won’t be a super solid conference and could be viewed as a B3 power conference

Its really fascinating how UH is still be considered a G5 program (even in basketball as they literally lead the B12 rn)..... never mind the fact that they existed for 40 YEARS in a power conference before UT shunned them from the B12. Same with Cincinatti - literally played 20 YEARS in the Big East, but people act like moving into the P5 is such a major step for their program that they are gonna be in shock (literally used to play in a Power conference 13 years ago prior to joining the AAC). On the offensive side of the ball most of the front blocking line has been left intact and quarterback Noah Fafita and superstar wide-receiver T-Mac return for another season. This was muy importante. The Washington Huskies expected them to follow and enter the transfer portal, but these 2 intelligent guys chose to stay put in Tucson citing team unity and formally stating publicly that “this is just the start of things to come, & the CATS have unfinished business to take care of. Now with the addition of Head Coach Brett Brennan who is the absolute perfect successor to Jedd Fisch. This dude is a winner and he did things @ SJSU that the average Joe is not going to understand.

I think year in and out go 11-1 win or lose your conference championship your in 10-2 your probably going to be in a sloppy discussion with about 5-7 teams with the same record and who has the best losses. Only 3-4 get in. So do yourself a favor and go 11-1 whoever your team is and you should be in. As an FSU fan I believe we would be left out at 10-2. The schedule from right now sets up extremely nice to have a good record but wouldn’t hold up vs an sec big 10-2 team. Obviously no matter the record win the conference championship you are in but lose the conference champ no matter who you cheer for. Do better than 10-2

I think that Notre Dame will be forced to join the ACC with the 12-team format. If Notre Dame is in the top 12 but #13 is a Power 4 team (especially SEC or Big 10), the conference president would sue Notre Dame and the playoff committee because the Power 4 team has followed instructions.

That isn’t even a top 30 schedule. They would probably need to go undefeated or lose 1 close one to a playoff team to make it in.
