I am a big fan of bluey and with season 3 airing in Australia, I thought I would do a breakdown of every episode with a small review, some spoilers, and any bluey theories that might pop up. Bluey season 1 and 2 hit disney plus two months after airing in Australia so hopefully, all of season 3 will be out for everyone soon!

I think Dusty's ear is folded because like a lot of dog breeds whose ears stand up like Kelpies, when they're puppies their ears start out folded and start to stand up as they grow. I guess it just shows that she's still more of a puppy than Rusty and we might get to see her ear stand up as she gets older - or it stays folded as sometimes they won't stand up properly. It'll be fun to see which route they take :)

I sort of want to see Rusty tagging along with Digger to Tiny's house. Given Rusty's destiny in Cricket interacting with people from the Sub-Continent could be fun given he's going to grow up to be one of their countries sporting rivals.

my favorite character is rusty, he is very kind and loving with his friends and i really like the fact that games like "mums and dad" or "take care of the baby (polly)" don't bother him, and based on those interactions i think that he would be a great father! :))
i would love to see dusty interacting with characters like muffin, socks and bingo considering they are similar in age.
I know I like how he has a typical masculine side and a typical more feminine side he's the perfect character

This show really warms my heart. Part of me wishes I could have kids but I know that would pushing me too far so I find that happiness in Bluey. Maybe someday my mental health will be managed enough for me to be able to add kids to my life and responsibilities but for I’ll just watch Bluey

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it but I like that I can draw a parallel between Dusty’s name and her dad’s army background because Rusty mentioned “Dust offs” a lot in the episode Army.
So I have another theory about what Rusty's mom could be doing for work , that is in line with Rusty's belief that women don't work. She could actually be doing daycare work. Without seeing either parent picking up Rusty with Dusty (like we see Jack's dad picking him up with Lulu)we should not assume that a parent can pick up Rusty while having Dusty.
I though Digger might be from the red Kelpies might be known for digging holes?
I'm hanging for more Tiny. The one thing that really haven't explored that much is Australia's ethnic diversity and Tiny had a sub-continental accent. That and I loved that his snout marking reflected the Zinc Cream some cricketers wear across the bridge of his nose. So something with Digger, Tiny, Captain & Mia in it again could be fun.
i love rusty and i honestly hope this show goes on forever haha i want them to grow up and eventually all have kids and relationships of their own, but for now i LOOOVVEEE the grown up sequences i love flashbacks and flash forwards in shows and i think it would be so cool for my little siblings to grow up with these characters.
I think it's entirely plausible that Rusty's Mum is now going (back?) to work because Dusty's a little older and Digger might be getting old enough to help look after her a little more. (And if she stopped working temporarily to take care of Baby Dusty, Rusty might not have been old enough to remember her ever having a job outside of the house in Season One.)
I think rusty centric episodes have so many possibilities
A video about fear over not being able to see his dad full time or even fear of his dad dieing while on part roll
A kids perspective on a parent comeing home with PTSD
Maybe a flashback episode where rusty tells his freinds how we got used to not haveing his dad around all the time
I'm gonna stop you right there these ideas would never work don't feel too bad the show has come up with so much it makes it trifficult to come up with new ideas.
I think I want a spinoff of rusty and his family like it's much much more siblings then bluey and bingo.
I know this is common but I’m in middle school going into 8th grade and I’m just saying, when I first heard of Bluey I thought I didn’t think I’d like it but after 44 episodes of season one *I can say it’s absolutely worth your time*

aussie girl margie, to tell the truth if any of the other kids would get their own show, I think most likely be rusty because he was originally supposed to be the main character.

@@aussiegirlmargie @099flutterfly - I have a theory that gels with clues they have given us. Rusty's dad is of course in the army and there are Military bases in North Queensland notably in Cairns, Townsville & Shoalwater Bay and in the letter to the family Rusty's dad specifically mentions to Digger about how he thought it was warm up North. So since it's been stated they are from the Bush and Rusty's voice actor has a more country accent I think there's a real chance that Rusty's dad was previously stationed at one of those North Queensland locations and was probably moved south when Rusty was maybe around Bingo's age. That would explain why Rusty's dad mentions the heat specifically to Digger as perhaps he's the kid old enough to really remember well exactly how hot it was where they lived previously but also not so long ago that Rusty has lost his accent. Of course maybe Digger and his Dad just went North on a road trip at some stage too but Rusty's dad being stationed in North Queensland previously just gels pretty well with the limited info we've been given.

I love this so much! Rusty's are some of my favorite characters so I enjoyed this video a lot. Love your videos as usual! I really am hoping we get to see a lot more of the family in the upcoming seasons. Also, Digger as of now is my favorite.

Dusty's name is a reference to the 1946 novel by Australian novelist Frank Dalby Davidson. Dusty is the story of a dingo/kelpie cross that works herding sheep but is conflicted and led astray by its dingo genetics.
Ok but what if rustys mom is auntie mary or her daughter.. She resembles chillis mum ALOT and its deffiently possible auntie mary was actually chillis mum's sister and not chris's sister. Though it was confirmed that bluey and rusty arent canonically cousins anymore and rustys mom is atleast partly a kelp it could deffiently be that they are still far relatives & maybe his mom is partly red heeler
That is absurd no way the heeler family has relatives with Rusty family your saying as a theory not a true fact.

i would love to see a digger/mia/captain centric episode maybe told like a narrative and one of them is telling bluey/makenzie/rusty abt whatever is happening

Dont forget Tiny ... it was great to see a little bit of ethnic diversity with him being from the Sub-continent. The one thing Bluey doesn't reflect that often is the diversity of ethnic backgrounds that is very common in Australia especially the cities. I grew up with Italian, Greek, Lebanese, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Aboriginal, Vietnamese, Polish, Samoan, Tongan, British etc etc kids in my classes and I think a little bit more of that would be nice. I loved that Tiny clapped when Rusty hit him for 4 and also that his nose marking mimicked the Zinc that some Cricketers especially bowlers wear on their nose in high summer to avoid bad sunburn.
I think your suggestion of an episode with Bluey or one of the other kids her age interacting with the older early teenage kids in some way is a great idea because I think that sort of interaction is inherently different to kids with adults

THIS IS TOTALLY UNRELATED BUT I WANT U TO SEE THIS: Another piece of evidence to back up the theory on Bingo being sick: in Yoga Ball, whenever someone is too rough with her, Bingo either grabs her stomach or lays down, which is not a normal sign of being uncomfortable. And the parents, especially Bandit, seem really concerned, almost like they know something Is wrong with her. And Bingo and Blues are the ones to dismiss it as her just being younger, not the parents. So maybe she has a condition that makes her tired and easily hurt, which is why Bingo is usually the less active and quiet one out of the pair.
Well I think nobody expected digger! But it is great to have him as a new character!
We don't know if Rusty's mom is actually a work from home mom or a mom that just works in between the kids time part time during school.
Rusty is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE CHARACTER ❤❤ his family is so cute and I love his dad as well as his little sister❤❤❤

Tiny was super interesting as much for the ethnic diversity as anything. His accent is Sub-Continental but I cant be sure which country - at a push India. Seeing an episode where the concept of different cultures being explored would be super fun. Maybe something with Rusty tagging along with Digger to Tiny's place and experiencing something like Indian food for the first time would be the sort of thing that could work in a 7 minute episode? The fact that India is also a Cricket powerhouse would gel in with Rusty's destiny too.
Dont know if you noticed but Tiny's white snout marking mirror the Zinc cream some Cricketers wear across the bridge of their nose to protect from Sunburn. I thought that was an awesome subtle design choice. That whole episode was amazingly packed with stuff.
Can you do a theory if chattermax is aware/alive? in sticky gecko he cries in pain and flinches his eyes when chilly hits his head against the ceiling, in the short lollipop, when chili shuts the music off and the kids get sad he starts playing lollipop song right after. idk. its just a thought

Rusty has a special place in my heart, I had a black and tan kelpie dog growing up and she was my best friend, my first sister and everything to me. Growing up i didnt see very many kelpies in any shows, tv they were a uncommon breed to me but it made me love her more and then i found out bluey had a kelpie family in the show and it made my heart melt and i see them in so much more than i did growing up, they are loyal family dogs and i would love to have one again in the future

I hope that they can age the cast up over time while keeping the charm and appeal of the show. It would be nice to see the bunch grow up. That way, we can always see Bluey and her family and friends and have the same voice actors at the same time.

I have a personal head-canon theory of mine where Rusty is still related to Bluey, but he’s her 2nd cousin (instead of 1st cousin) through their connection with Rusty’s mom being a cousin of both Chili and Brandy (Since I feel bad that Chili doesn’t really have a lot of family members on her side compared to Bandit’s side).
I wish there was an episode of a huge family party consisting of the Heelers, the Cattles, and Rusty’s family so: Bluey, Bingo, Chili, Bandit, Muffin, Socks, Trixie, Stripe, Rad, Frisky, Bob, Chris, Mort, Brandy, Rusty, Dusty, Digger, Rusty’s mom, and Rusty’s dad. I kind of even wish/want Chili’s mom to be alive as well so there would be an equal party of 20 people x)

Digger's chest patch is also kind of shaped like a type of fighter jet in the US airforce.
There might be a chance bluey takes place in the past because the uniform Rusty’s dad wears is a more outdated uniform as the modern Australian defence force wears a Multicam uniform
How far into the past? Because if it is only a few years since the uniform changed, that makes sense. But if it is ten or twenty years, then, given the technology seen in the show, it would not make sense, and would be an error on the creator’s part.

One interesting thought for why Rusty would say "moms dont work, they stay at home with the kids" in season 1 if his mom is a working mom, maybe he said that because thats what he wishes for himself. Maybe having his dad away in the army for long periods and then his mom working alot, maybe he's lonely and longing for his parents and he wishes his mom stayed home with him all day like she used to or like he sees on TV.

I will say though like... I don't remember seeing the car? At Rusty's house? It might be there, I feel like it is? But if it isn't, maybe Rusty's Mum doesn't have a car of her own, especially if Rusty's family is poor. What if the blue car we see actually belongs to a neighbour of Rusty's family, which his Mum borrowed? Maybe the family car is usually at the military base with Rusty's Dad? That might explain why she has no job but can't pick Rusty up- she has no car. I've only managed to see the episode "Cricket" once though.
