Whoa! Listening to all those sounds made me feel like I went back in time to the 80s.
When they still played real music.
Best VR09 demo AND INSTRUCTION!! (and it's not even in English!). Maybe having to watch it close caption was extra helpful because your comments were so precise and you mentioned things I never hear in demos... like how the FX are tied to a patch by default.. and how you find a 12 O'clock setting works well as a starting point for most of them.. so many great nuggets! Oh, and your playing is insane! You are unbelievable on that keyboard. Don't know why I've never seen you in a big and famous band... unbelievable chops! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Katsunori UJIIE can improvise music as easily as we breathe air. Amazing.
Played with this the other day and was blown away - but your breadth of knowledge of different playing styles is astonishing! Wonderful demo!

I buyed one for church use, it is fantastic...(just the drawber sounds are a little different from HAMMOND, but it's very near. the VR-09 sounds more metalic in drawbar use !!!). it is easy to use, I did'nt look for the notice and I did my favorite sounds memorys...

Wish UJIIE would do a demo/review (with English subtitles) of the VR-09'S 2017 software update for the Type I, Type II and Type III rotary speaker effects, which are on the VR-09B and VR-730. Really learn a lot about all electronic keyboards both older and brand new from his excellent well-done videos.

I used to see these in the Sweetwater catalog and thought it looked cheesy. But later got one because I wanted a good organ sound for under 1500 and this sounded best to me, and it is a pleasure to have for covering other things as a second synth. But you need avoid the FX section, in this clip he turns off the reverb and suddenly you hear there are some decent sounds. The user interface is excellent. Not quite enough polyphony to pull off some of the 2 sound layers but I dont layer on this much.

Very good and updated sounds even after many years. The others just try to copy roland VR. the Nord and yamaha YC. they good too. But roland VR series ware first.

Just bought a used vr-09. Thanks for the demos. Liking that I can quickly add flavor to a sound on the fly without planning ahead. Mine does not have the new sounds in this demo. Can I download the new EP sounds from Roland?
Update the firmware, look on the Roland website for it, you will need an empty usb stick. I think you can use the axial website for new sounds.

Was the update on the Roland site a few days ago and then removed? It is no longer there if it was, only 1.02 is available!
What’s the difference between the old VR-09 and the new one? Is it a software upgrade or a new instrument?

Does this have authentic 80s sounds? I'm making some 80s italo disco and synthpop music but the old machines and boards are very expensive
Some. Very limited ability to modify a sound. If you have specific needs, a sound module loaded with 80s sounds would be better. This is certainly not geared for 80s synth music. Theres a sampling from all generations, and as usual, most of the sounds refer to previous roland sound titles but also some encrypted references to songs like Africa and Abacab I think.
can you save sounds in performance or everytime you have to call the sound from the banks??
You can assign a name to your favorite sounds (or combination of sounds), dual/split setting, effect settings etc and store it as a
“registration.” Registrations are organized into banks, with 4 registrations in each bank. There are 25 banks, allowing you to store a total of 100 registrations.
Is this keyboard good for church?
I really like this roland sounds. But and its a big BUT. listen to the drums how it JUMPS evey 4 houses. really dissapointed for a profesional keyboard. That jump at the drums was a bug on most arrengers from ROLAND and KORG from the 90s becous of the weak CPU and little RAM they had.

Roland should forget D-Beam finally, that's not really useable, good for NOTHING...

Dam Roland has some ugly synths now .. what ever happened to the XP30 look that was awesome , these new ones look cheap.
