Are you actually aware of what he did? He tried to frame an innocent man for somebody's assault and death whilst he was in prison awaiting trial for drug driving and fighting witha cop. He was then caught out and then charged with the death that he tried to frame an innocent man for. Do you think that makes him a good man? Its a massive testament to his character that whilst being tortured in prison his revenge plan was simply to be a good person regardless of what they did to him.

I am sitting here bawling my eyes out. I was incarcerated for 3 years in a pa womens prison and it was the worst experience of my life, I left with PTSD. The fact that this man spent all those years inside, being tortured and tormented and still have a positive attitude, gives me so much hope. I'm so happy he was finally proven innocent and set free physically from that place. I pray that he is one day free from the emotional and mental trauma.

He reminds me of a good friend of mine, his name was Robert and we worked every week 60+ hours so we got to know each other pretty well, he spent 13 years in prison for a wrongful possession and he was the most genuine human I’ve ever met, he committed suicide last November and I still live by all of his things he has taught me, I hope he has finally found peace.

What an amazing story from an amazing man. Someone that has been through it all and seen it all and had stayed positive through the horrible experience that has been his life. The fact that he had kept his great character and faith in his innocence for so long without giving up is incredible. I feel for him. I was a correctional officer for a while and I saw bad things that I didn’t agree with and I believe every word that this man says and I feel his pain. I’m happy to see that he has found freedom and is now able to live the scar that is his past life and teach people how the world really is. People like him are among the strongest people on this planet. I’m happy for you Nick.

Unfortunately, there is so much evil in this world that being kind and good is way harder than just being ruthless, it's a never ending cycle, the people that become rude and evil it's because of things that have happened in the past. I heard this mans story a year or so ago. I can not put into words how much his story affected me. I couldnt get his story out of my head for months. I wish i could meet him in person one day. To let him know how much him sharing his story helped me.
Don't forget the only reason he was accused of the murder in the first place -- because he tried to frame a person he knew to be innocent for the killing so he would have (perjured) testimony to offer the DA in return for a sweet plea deal on the theft and attempted murder charges. He admitted this on the podcast and Joe didn't press him about it. When the guy he falsely accused had an alibi, the police decided he knew an awful lot about the case and began looking at him. In other words, he ended up on Death Row with a false conviction solely because he tried to send someone else to Death Row with a false conviction.

I can and will not claim to have been through prison or anything like that. But after watching this i feel understood. I spent 10 + years addicted to drugs and on the streets. Kidnapped, tortured, some of the same stuff he’s talking about minus prison. The way he talks about things and starts tearing up is almost exactly how i am when i talk about stuff. Through the years i learned to have enormous amounts of compassion for others. There is a turning point where you decide to either hate or love. I have chosen love. “Fuck this i ain’t crying no more”. But we will always cry more. We don’t want anyone to go through the suffering that we have been through. At least that’s how i have come to understand it. I’m now clean for a long time and am a server. I get notes from people everyday about how they appreciated my kindness and the connection i made with them while they were there. It never fails to make me cry when i read them. So different than what life used to be. Haha people probably think I’m high af because my eyes will be all red and puffy from crying 🤷🏻♂️ Did my best to explain. All the best to you my friend 🙏🏼❤️

How about the fact that he was fake whimpering and sobbing throughout most of the whole podcast, but not when he quickly explains his daughter getting smothered, the "villagers" forcing him for flee Europe, and his wife divorcing him in succession. Immediately after he starts focusing on how the documentary "owes him 50k pounds" and how "Canada was prosecuting him" and starts trembling and tearing up and getting emotional again. He was awarded 8 million dollars 10 years ago, but he's broke now and has had 4+ wives since? Daughter mysteriously dies, cops originally suspecting him of stalking and murdering the first woman for a resemblance to his ex girlfriend. He's battled cops multiple times with shots fired, unfazed, and he's escaped prison.

So I know all too well the "darkness" that you speak of. Being confined to bed for all of these years has been most difficult for me. However, lately I've been thinking a bit differently. Instead of focusing on my hardships I began appreciating my blessings. My entire perspective has changed and because of that I am a much happier person now. I sincerely wish you all of the best. There is of course the bureaucracy part of capitalism but it is minuscule compared to the amount of wealth one can achieve in this country. The United States, along with everyone nation on earth has its form of corruption the only difference is how extreme or small such acts are. Acts of corruption here are caught on most of the time due to freedom of the press and even if acts do go on behind closed doors they're soon declassified to the public one way or another.

There are people out there, lots of people, who think it's impossible to convict an innocent person. They have that much faith in law enforcement and prosecuters. They don't believe they would ever lie.
My heart feels shattered for people. As a teenager I always assumes we were humane. It never crossed my mind to check. But life happens and you grow. That illusion was torn apart in my 20s. I hate this is reality, I wish we could help.

I am sitting here bawling my eyes out. I was incarcerated for 3 years in a pa womens prison and it was the worst experience of my life, I left with PTSD. The fact that this man spent all those years inside, being tortured and tormented and still have a positive attitude, gives me so much hope. I'm so happy he was finally proven innocent and set free physically from that place. I pray that he is one day free from the emotional and mental trauma.

He reminds me of a good friend of mine, his name was Robert and we worked every week 60+ hours so we got to know each other pretty well, he spent 13 years in prison for a wrongful possession and he was the most genuine human I’ve ever met, he committed suicide last November and I still live by all of his things he has taught me, I hope he has finally found peace.

The fact that he had kept his great character and faith in his innocence for so long without giving up is incredible. I feel for him. I was a correctional officer for a while and I saw bad things that I didn’t agree with and I believe every word that this man says and I feel his pain. I’m happy to see that he has found freedom and is now able to live the scar that is his past life and teach people how the world really is. People like him are among the strongest people on this planet. I’m happy for you Nick.

I heard this mans story a year or so ago. I can not put into words how much his story affected me. I couldnt get his story out of my head for months. I wish i could meet him in person one day. To let him know how much him sharing his story helped me.
Don't forget the only reason he was accused of the murder in the first place -- because he tried to frame a person he knew to be innocent for the killing so he would have (perjured) testimony to offer the DA in return for a sweet plea deal on the theft and attempted murder charges. He admitted this on the podcast and Joe didn't press him about it. When the guy he falsely accused had an alibi, the police decided he knew an awful lot about the case and began looking at him.
In other words, he ended up on Death Row with a false conviction solely because he tried to send someone else to Death Row with a false conviction.

I can and will not claim to have been through prison or anything like that. But after watching this i feel understood. I spent 10 + years addicted to drugs and on the streets. Kidnapped, tortured, some of the same stuff he’s talking about minus prison.
The way he talks about things and starts tearing up is almost exactly how i am when i talk about stuff.
Through the years i learned to have enormous amounts of compassion for others. There is a turning point where you decide to either hate or love.
I have chosen love. “Fuck this i ain’t crying no more”. But we will always cry more. We don’t want anyone to go through the suffering that we have been through.
At least that’s how i have come to understand it. I’m now clean for a long time and am a server. I get notes from people everyday about how they appreciated my kindness and the connection i made with them while they were there. It never fails to make me cry when i read them. So different than what life used to be. Haha people probably think I’m high af because my eyes will be all red and puffy from crying 🤷🏻♂️

He went through hell. Unfortunately he is also a habitual liar. He claims he was forced to eat other inmates. That's 1 lie and for shock value when the truth was bad enough. I actually feel very sorry for his daughter he abandoned yet lies about how and why he can't see her. He's gotten donations to finance a visit to see her but he never had intentions to see her to begin with. Take what he says with a grain of salt. He's not what he portrays and deserves an Emmy nomination

This absolutely moved me. I’m at work crying because this man is able to speak freely about the pain and hurt he went through just to be found innocent. To learn to speak again, learning love.. I truly appreciate this podcast

You can see by the comments many people don't believe him but it seems he has that problem his whole life. One thing that is true, he was wrongly convicted and nobody believed him then either.

His documentary is absolutely beautiful! He is a fantastic narrator and his story is so unbelievably insane, that it's almost beyond anything you can imagine! It's a must watch!

How about the fact that he was fake whimpering and sobbing throughout most of the whole podcast, but not when he quickly explains his daughter getting smothered, the "villagers" forcing him for flee Europe, and his wife divorcing him in succession. Immediately after he starts focusing on how the documentary "owes him 50k pounds" and how "Canada was prosecuting him" and starts trembling and tearing up and getting emotional again.
He was awarded 8 million dollars 10 years ago, but he's broke now and has had 4+ wives since? Daughter mysteriously dies, cops originally suspecting him of stalking and murdering the first woman for a resemblance to his ex girlfriend. He's battled cops multiple times with shots fired, unfazed, and he's escaped prison.
I hope nick finds the peace no one ever has. Cannot imagine the pain he went through. You're a real man nick yarris.

I got sick at 19 and 6 years later am still physically suffering bed bound in near complete darkness, fighting for my life.

So I know all too well the "darkness" that you speak of. Being confined to bed for all of these years has been most difficult for me. However, lately I've been thinking a bit differently. Instead of focusing on my hardships I began appreciating my blessings. My entire perspective has changed and because of that I am a much happier person now. I sincerely wish you all of the best. Everyday, when I get angry at the world, I’m going to try to remember to rewatch this. I haven’t been through a FRACTION of what this guy has and if he can find the strength to be kind, then I have no excuses!
This man is a saint. this man decided to be nice and kind in the face of the most ruthless people. He has used his intense experiences and instead of using it against people he said no and said I'm going to be a good man I will be kind the fact that he used that to get back at them instead of hate instead of anger is something many cannot do. Thank you for sharing your story.
This man has suffered and survived against the insurmountable odds. His mental strength is far beyond many of ours and that has my ever lasting respect for him as everyone else should.

There is of course the bureaucracy part of capitalism but it is minuscule compared to the amount of wealth one can achieve in this country. The United States, along with everyone nation on earth has its form of corruption the only difference is how extreme or small such acts are. Acts of corruption here are caught on most of the time due to freedom of the press and even if acts do go on behind closed doors they're soon declassified to the public one way or another.

Yea, I do trust it. Do you know how many cases a day happen in the states? The amount of mistakes is incredibly tiny compared to the overall amount of cases, and it’s not like this dude wasn’t on a highway to jail anyways, he’s lucky he got out, but let’s be honest, society didn’t miss his contributions.
To come out the other end still believing good will prevail shows the strength this man carries. What a beautiful human. I am so glad good did prevail in his case and I too believe that.

Can we just appreciate how strong and bright this man is, really. The amount of strength it would take to talk about your past trauma, it’s crazy man I wish peace and reverence onto this man for the rest of his days.
The way this man's breath tremors while he's telling this story tells me he has been through some horrific things that human beings should never go through.
