- Hey guys!! well here she is, cold starting the harley before putting it away for a few days, still working out the bugs and figuring out the best way to start and warm the bike up, hope you guys like it! Video does the bike no justice on the sound

If the engine is cold (and so are the temps), just start and warm the bike up using full choke for one minute, then leaving it on half choke or another 2 minutes or so and ride.
If it's summer temps, she should cold start using only half choke, and leave'er running for one minute, then push the choke in and go ride.

Been riding/chopping big twins for years, and just yesterday, 64 year old me bought me a girls bike after a decade off of riding due to what's called an incomplete spinal cord injury, and thank goodness for these lighter bikes, who were once the soul of HD! Big Twins all used to be the same (1,000/1,200) displacement back in the day, so now do we call 1340 cc rider's bikes girl bikes, like my old '98 Dyna? Lol Girl's bike? FU, and your heated seat, cushy-ass , class A motorhome, bikes of today! Lol

I have the same problem on my , likes to cough on u when its cold.. Harley r known to be cold blooded. They don't like the cold. Only rides great when it's 🔥 hot. It's a normal thing. Love ur bike n ride safe

yeah you would be best served going to a good bike shop and having that carb dialed in. My old sporty did that too. I spent so long reading Mikuni manuals and playing with the screws. But when I took it to someone that did that stuff their whole life it really did run like a brand new fuel injected bike. Just spend the 120 bucks to have it dialed in right and sleep easy. And change the plugs yourself. 10 bucks and 10 minutes.
Sounds a bit rich, but that's a plus off the line. :)

I sold the truck about 6 months ago to get a Camry (gas and reliablilty), but now I'm thinking of getting back into a truck. Keep up the videos.

Is that just the sound a Harley makes or does it have to be straight piped or something
idol needs to be adjusted....
is there a choke for this model? also recently when I start my sportster I hear a pop, not sure if I heard that sound before or im just over reacting, I recently purchased the bike

sometimes the pressure will create one loud pop upon start up. I would say that’s good engine compression, so not a bad thing. If it’s popping when you are decelerating then there is a problem.

There is no such thing as cold natured. That's a womans thinking. Your problem is because you have fuel fouled spark plugs that need to be changed and your idle is too low. At 55 degrees away from the draft, that bike should start with two throttles and not using the choke at all. You just need to turn your idle mixture screw clockwise a bit and change your plugs
