First 10 years roughly of the Simpson's is top notch. I think early Simpson's is much better then early South Park, but Simpisons fell off and South Park only got better and is still going strong.
South Park is such an achievement. Even after a quarter of a century and over 300 episodes each season will still have 4-5 episodes that will make me cry with laughter. No show has ever been so funny for so long.
The funny thing about the South Park movie is, the studio refused the first draft of the script because they thought it was too much. So, they sent it back to Trey and Matt for a rewrite, and Trey and Matt just kept making it worse and worse until the studio loved it.
