Well, 1 or 2 similarities but one of them is a multimillionare charismatic genius. And on the other hand sheldon is a poor anoying genius.
The sales technique was spot on. He knew he couldn’t sell him on the quality of the cigar because he’s not a real enthusiast, so he flipped it to the value of the cigar and status. So he challenged his want to fit in and his ability to afford a cigar of high value.
He played the fomo

Im a salesman with sales lead experience and he would probably fail an interview, the test he was given was incomplete.
He has the confidence and smooth talk, but when you do an interview you also want to test every candidate’s ability to turn a no into a yes. (No matter how good they did on the persuasion part)
Lest say instead of “you got me there” a good sales recruiter would say something like “well it sounds great, ill think about it and give you a call” to see how the candidate does turning that into an instant yes by applying pressure in a friendly way.

Identifying this cigar was quite difficult but i noticed the label is gold but with some bronze and i saw some red too.
Knowing Tristan's taste in cigars a bit, he likes romeo y julieta so my guess is the Romeo y julietta linea de oro hidalgos, celebrating RYJ's 145th anniversary.
Those cost 72€/ piece here (so approx 72$), but he's from romania so prob less there.
Thats already an expensive RYJ, i have smoked a lot of cigars but havent gotten my hands on that one.
My pellet is very wide, i enjoy smooth subtle cigars but on other days i prefer full bodied strong and very peppery or spiced ones too. Depends on the occasion, food, drink etc...
I smoke more new world cigars than cubans, some cubans... Uhum cohiba ... Often ask the full price for an average enjoyable cigar. RYJ, H.upmann, montecristo, hoyo de monterrey etc... Are more reasonable priced cubans.

The power of verbally strong elegantcy, no stutter high class vocabulary love it i wish i could speak so clean and fluid
He's taken alot out of Jordan Belfort's sale strategy (sell me this pen):
- ask questions to assess the customers standing point.
- find out their pain point: use features and benefits of the product to solve the pain point, and justify the higher price tag
If the customers are still reluctant, rely on social proof and urgency to push sales
- social proof: "I have other clients waiting to buy my product"
- urgency: "we are limited on stock and will sell out quickly, as our products are in high demand"
He didnt that's just common knowledge if you want to sell something effectively
Years playing games has made me not fall for these stupid tactics. FOMO actively makes me not buy something if its limited or expensive or fast selling so you could miss out just makes me forget about it. I'm not getting upsold just because idiots feel like they need something to fit in or they miss out.
And all of that would be ineffective because he forgot the core principle of sales which is rapport building.
It’s not Jordon Belforts at all it’s their own principles that they made when they were doing buisness
Why do you think they didnt have rapport? They looked like they did to me, even before the sales pitch.@Daverod
Man, as a former USMC recruiter this would have passed any test. Assuming he didn’t know anything in advance, I kind of want that cigar too. However $350 for a cigar is stupid and I’d rather cough.

It's easy when you only speak bullshit. Try it.
If you tell a potential costumer someone else will buy it if they don't, 10 out of 10 times they will say "okay" and leave. 😂
Well depends what you sell…
Well a lot of times people will hear that and think the salesman thinks they are too inferior to buy the product and therefore must purchase it so they do not feel inferior. At least that’s how I look at it. I’d be with you and just leave though lol.
No, it depends how invested the customer is into the product he wants to buy
Only if the salesman is bad at his job... a good salesman will make you feel like a product will solve all of your problems before saying anything like that. That way even if you do walk away you will walk away with a big fat "what if" looming over you every time you cough on your Cigars.
Then you picked 10 unqualified prospects to sell to. That’s wasn’t the only thing he said to display his cigars value but it was the last thing he said, and meant it!

As a professional B2B Account Executive i have to say the way Tristan did his presentation and the way he picked the pain point wow 🤯🔥
In a real sales experience when he said “well that’s your problem” he would have lost the client there and then, conversation would have been de-railed on why you think he’s got a problem, people’s egos wouldn’t have allowed them to let that go.
Yep 100%
Naw the male ego is fragile. Higher end sales are very different. Salesman isn’t desperate. People prefer to buy from people who aren’t desperate for a sell. Take it or leave it mentality. Some guys would buy just to prove a point.
@@kemshreddyhearing you can't afford it would make me buy it just to prove a point 😂
Whilst that may be true in some contexts where the target market can't afford things ...Selling to higher end people it can be effective when done in a none placating way .Imagine Ferrari begging you to buy their car .If you can't afford it, that's perfectly fine, they aren't desperate and someone else will buy it very soon too.
So it depends on the product and the target audience also
I think they’d just go to another dealership so you the sales person didn’t get the commission tbh not that they wouldn’t still buy it, probably then drive it by the dealership you work at lol
I’m in sales. And he used about every trick “in the book.” Very smooth.
The last thing he did was he used a principle that created urgency to buy something people are afraid to lose. I’m a senior sales agent at my company, and that works very well.

From someone that’s a door to door salesman, Tristan is very good with his pitch. Asking questions to find the right objections, then explains what a real cigar does and why it’s valuable and how higher end makes a huge difference in flavor and quality to build intrigue, then handles the it’s too expensive objection by deflecting with an abundance mindset and building urgency that these cigars won’t stay in the market for too long.
