I wanted to build a 29" Jump Bike. I completely took apart and striped and repainted a small 29" mountain bike. I wanted to do something a little different and got out the vinyl cutter to make something special. I also converted the drivetrain to one by with a single speed conversion kit.

Very nice I've been wanting to build a jump bike out of an old mtb. I was honestly going to just select the right size main drive and rear drive and cut the others off to make it single speed but it's good to know there's kits out there. Thanks for the info. And the bike turned out awesome! Basically just took a bike that would of ended up in the dump and made it a +$500 bike! Cheers mate

Wow that looks amazing and I’ll have to think about making one of my own now... only thing I would worry about is the forks/ head tube strength. Have you had any issues regarding damage there, or even wheels bending?
Ive seen a lot of comments on forums stating that when you convert a MTB into a Dirt Jumper, the head tube might snap. It makes sense, geometry and all that. But that would also mean that jumping a regular MTB would result in a loss of teeth, right? I havent been able to find any clear answers to wether or not it would jeg dangerous to make a conversion, but im almost certain i want to try it out. Building one like the one Julian did here, and then trying to snap that head tube, should provide a straight answer 😅👍 or pain, either way i want to know! Haha

Just found this video I have an old saracen xile frame with some old double crown rockshox, can I buy a kit and strip and rebuild those forks? Also can you suggest a reasonably priced crank set with BB, its a really cool old frame I'd love to do a much poorer job of mine than you did with yours🤣👍looks epic mate
Love this video, but one question how come you left the derailleur on when it's now single drive? Is this just for easy release of the rear wheel or are you saving the chain?
It's not a derailleur. It's a chain tensioner. You need it to keep the chain tight because the there's no way to tension the chain with the vertical dropouts.
