Welcome to Arcade Paradise, the 90’s retro arcade game and light-management sim combo! From cleaning toilets and picking up gum, to doing the laundry; the road to Arcade Paradise isn’t easy, but the reward will be worth the grind!
Take on the role of Ashley and manage the day-to-day tasks of running the family laundromat. Rebel against your father’s wishes and create a games arcade to give the sleepy town of Grindstone something to really get excited about as you wash rags, invest the profits and build your very own Arcade Paradise!
The more arcade cabinets you install, the more players will spend, with over 35 fully playable games to unlock! But remember, you don’t have time to just stand around setting the highest scores… the toilet won’t clean itself and there’s trash to take out!

Thanks Martin, it definitely has a few quirks but nothing too major that they can't, no doubt, iron out
The was a patch late on day one. Which fixed the map issue amongst others
Have this on the wishlist, but will probably wait for that patch to hopefully come.

How does it look in handheld mode?
lmao, this one definitely flew under my radar. I don't hate the idea, but yes, maybe they should try and patch up those visual bugs first. Thanks for the review, I'll keep an eye on it.
I can’t believe the Konami code works lmao. Golden washers/dryers that give you S tier every time.

You will like the game more later on. You make so much money with the arcade that you don't have to do laundry anymore. Can also buy powerups to make the day longer and make the machines break down less.
Appreciate you covering this one. Looks right up my alley. I'll pick it up, and cross my fingers the devs see fit to offer up a patch for the bugs you mentioned.

I personally really enjoy it and now there's a VR version coming out that I wanna play.
@@fondue542 I got totally hooked. In fact, they've released some DLC that I plan to grab, at which point I'll likely just start over from scratch so I can enjoy the whole game again. It's pretty great.

I thought from the trailer that you had to play the games to make money. Is that not the case? I love grindy simulator games. If this really is more about the arcade building and management I think I'd likely really like kt
You can play the games and that upgrades that particular games popularly which will effect how much that game brings in. But at first your main income is the laundromat then you will begin to start making more from the arcade.

Why would you want to spend 1h ingame time to clean toilet? You can do it much quicker. The way you showed is very slow.
Honestly only takes a few seconds to clean, it's a fun mini-game! =)

I did get some curious looks from the wife and she asked why I don't just do the real life equivalent instead - she had that same reaction to powerwash simulator

I like the spirit of this game in practice, but overall the gameplay and graphics aren't very appealing to me
This, thymesia, hobo life, and cult of the lamb all on switch. (Cult of the lamb has trash performance tho)

Just seeing the first person view turning and spinning to go around the floor to perform in-game actions in this video made me nauseous from motion sickness.... 🤢🤢
Yeah, it’s not going to be a good one for those with motion sickness, it’s a constant flow of moving around quick, spinning and looking up and down
I never heard of this game until I saw this review. Am I the only one who finds the whole thing utterly unappealing? As others have said, it's a freakkin' chore simulator! What makes this even worse are the logical inconsistencies Alex mentioned (thus breaking immersion), topped off by all those wonderful game mechanics-breaking bugs, too.
All this has going for it are some well done retro aesthetics and parodic pop references.
The backlog remains safely unscathed... this time. This an easy pass for me.
As someone who puts way too many hours into these kind of chore simulators, I can say that I'm not the only one who finds them really relaxing to play. They are definitely for a niche audience but you'd be surprised at how many people like these kinds of games. One man's chore simulator is another man's treasure 😂
He didn't beat the game, eventually you make so much money with the arcade that you don't have to do any laundry or cleaning.

Not your fault. They also purposely kept it ambiguous. The father does confirm Lesley as the sister. I just think it’s a nice feature in this day and age. Besides, you mentioned family issues in the beginning- I hope all is well.
Most reviewers obviously haven’t finished the game before rushing out to be the first to post (which I feel is unfair to the devs and their audience). I appreciate the fact that you’re going to give it a real review when you have more time.
Appreciate that Ames, I like to be transparent when I haven’t beaten something, I review when finished. Only exception is things like racers or sports with no real end game outside a career mode potentially
