Take good care of him, I think that equipment was the last one he restored before he died of COVID.
Teddy truly is a master of restoration.
Who else is missing Teddy's videos? Every now and then i check to se if i just missed a notification, sadly there arent any~

Thank you for your compliments!
Hi, Gabe. I will reply email, as you said I received too many requesting emails and could not handle them all together. I need a time to work out step by step.
Another genius restoration teddy, don't forget to keep me on your list teddy, when u get an opening. God bless
Got a m70 here in switzerland. Ive been looking for someone who could repair the cassette mechanism & replace the belts but now after probably 2 years of searching & watching these videos i finally feel motivated enough to do this myself!
Wish me luck!
How it was going? Were you able to fix it?. I have got a m70 here in Hungary, I start to repair last week. I have a brocken parts in the fast forward/backward clutch mechanism, to glue together is not an option so i printed with 3d printer. God bless the inventor of the 3d printer :D
I hope Teddy is doing great. this last videos is 3yrs old. Thanks for all the great videos Teddy!
Ojala se encuentre bien, la verdad no se por que dejo de subir videos

Never seen anyone repair faders before!!
Good job!!
Thank you for your compliments on my work! It was a good experience for me to repair the faders.
Wow! Just wow!
I don't think I've seen one single person who takes the time and care to clean almost everything that can be cleaned!
Your repair of the faders was EPIC.
I have an M70 that needs some T.L.C. and I only wish that someone in Toronto could do such a thorough restoration like you always do. I doubt I'll find someone even close.
I was so glad to hear your voice as well.
Hats off to you.... I just subscribed!
Teddy... you ARE the master of the ghetto blaster!
Wow great job!
Sat here for nearly 3 hours watching the whole video and enjoyed every minute of it. Excellent.
Nice to hear your voice Teddy. After restoring 3 of these, I know all of the frustrations you felt during every part. Four things I knew for sure before watching. He's going to need to repair the tone board potentiometers, replace deck belts, repair the soft eject system and repair the antennas. :-) It's a typical M70 but what a machine. The only thing that got me was the screw they have hidden in the middle on the stop eject board. That'll keep someone who's never work on these guessing for a bit. Nice work.
Thank you for your compliments on my work! So you have done the job and we have a common idea how to restore it. Good to know you are out there!
Thank you so much for this video, despite its length, its very, very good. I have an M70 sat on my shelf waiting for me to have the courage to face it. This video has given me the reference I need. Out of interest, i didn't hear / catch in the video what great you put in the soft eject system after you fixed it.
Keep the videos coming.
Teddy is dam smart
Thank you for your compliments on my work!
Such an epic machine. It’s not the biggest but it’s certainly one of the most iconic. Great job 👏🏻
Thank you very much for this amazing job, I am in the process of restoring a JVC RM-70 and it has helped me tremendously!

Hi Teddy, Thanks for an informative video. I used to restore old computers and the method is very similar, of course, one gets better with experience and critical thinking. I learned from another youtube channel, that regular dishwasher contains salt that will corrode metalized surfaces, one good alternative is to use car shampoo. Of course, the toothbrush is a must-have, as is the soft sponge. Best regards

It was like watching a operation...amazing m machine...wish I could afford one lol
Amazing as always, Teddy. Thanks for u doing!
Hi Teddy you are the greatest !!!!
Looks great I had one one of these when I was 17(40yrs ago). I paid about $525 Canadian dollars for it. It was my
pride and joy, I even bought a JVC LA-21 turntable for it too. I noticed when you were playing the cassette at the end you didn't use the MMS which senses the blank space between tracks, does it still work too?
Thank You for the upload! :)
Teddy is the best!
You are the first and the best on CZcams!!!!
Teddy, you do such a great and complete job! We haven't heard or seen anything recent from you, I hope you and your loved ones are ok. I have a Conion C-100FF that I would like restored, how can I find out more info on your services? Thank you Teddy, keep up the awesome work!
Congratulations!
2:14:00 what brand of high viscosity grease you use for the tape door damper?
I see that you tried to apply grease few times, as it wasn't opening slow enough...
300000 type grease is the one they use in automotive shops?
Thank you Teddy for sharing this great restoration !
i need a power cord for mine, any help?
Fantastic work and videos! I sent you an e-mail yesterday with the hopes of getting your service to help fix my Sanyo M9935K( no power from power cord). I am not sure if you still fix those, but I would love to speak to you either way. TY

I have been searching all you videos and the internet for an answer, how do I add LED strips to my boombox. I have found one for this model, but don't know if I can add it to my Panasonic RX-5050. I would like to do this myself, and have some solder experience. Please let me know! Thanks

I have JVC RC-M70, and the right speaker and does not work. I took it to a n electronic repair shop, but the person said the main power supply unit was weak and going out. He cleaned the control switch and it plays a little better. Do you service/restore these radios for the public? I am looking for a complete overhaul. My cassette deck still works and all the radio functions. Thanks--Raoul
very very good

That is really sad to hear. How did this sad news reach you? My condolences to his beloved ones.
@@santioriginal by numerous attempts with no response. before the pandemic we have talked about him doing a restoration job on a couple of things for me. this has been his last video since the pandemic
@@ellasfella1205 thank you. Again, sad news.
I have one that needs a good overhaul, do you offer this service? I am interested, everything works but need cleaning and any upgrade that can be done. Let me know.
Thank you
My player has a bad cassette drive because if my MC cassettes turn a little harder then playback doesn't switch off and the drive therefore empties the entire tape
TEDDY DIED FROM COVID, my deepest condolences to his family. Like in support of them
Hi Teddy! what's the name of that gel that you used on those dusty grills?
i have that exact radio and it's in dire need of much work.
Hello, thanks for the amazing video, I learned a lot with it. I have an old JVC RC-M70 that needs to be refresh. I have some questions :
- can you give me the reference of the belt, the largest one you used seems to be more that the 3mm large original one. I tried to find it on amazon or the web sites, but unsuccessfully...
- I'd like to know also what kind of product you use to clean and oil the different axles and the metallic wheel. Alcohol and oil for little mechanics systems ?
- You use a pre-recorded cassette to change motor speed in order to have 440Hz. Is this kind of cassette available on Internet ?
Thank in advance for your answers (and excuse me if my English isn't perfect !)
I just brought a JVC MC70 boom box in need of a service overhaul. Everything is working but been getting cassette feedback noise
Great video. I just picked up an M70 and I have been digging into it. I replaced the main belt, cleaned all the switches, sliders etc.... Everything seems to be working apart from the power switch that acts up every now and then, but the main issue is the speed of the tape playback. It is playing back slower than it should. Is there a way to adjust the speed of the motor?
Teddy, can you provide detailed instructions or video for bluetooth mod circuit? What parts #'s are needed and where they can be purchased?
I still have a problem with the vu meter. What should I check? when the radio is on and the battery is turned off, the tuning shows normal..when I switch to cassette and set the stereo level, the knob doesn't even move...it makes me angry..thanks for the advice.
Surely someone active on one of the American Boombox forums can ask if Teddy is OK?
I have a 1965 JVC RC 8#8 JWE in parts for sale on Ebay and Reverb. All parts and screws. If you think you can put it together there's money to be made.

Hello Teddy!

please answer me and tell me how we can talk in private for a tape recorder
I have the same one but I had to replace the potentiometer with one that is not the original. By the way it's Ray Conniff?.
Gracias por las imagenes
Thank you for your comment!
Hello, i hope everything is all right. You are being missed!
I've got one of these, and suddenly the right channel got really quiet. It's fine on mono mode, but quiet on stereo. I've cleaned all the switches, sliders and pots but I'm not sure what's next, have you ever run across this issue? Thanks!
Fixed it! If anybody else runs into this, there's some resistors on the front-facing side of the main mother board / amplifier board that are raised up from the board for some reason, in my case just to the right of the main input selector switch. One of mine was shorting out against a header pin on the board causing attenuation.
Great to hear that you were able to fix the problem. I will check the board where you pointed out and write a memo for the future work! Thanks again!
Come back Teddy!
Died of COVID
@@jkashai Wait! What? That's so unfortunate and sad. Is that 100% confirmed, though? How did you find out?
@@stuffcompiler2121 Yes friend lost the battle against COVID. confirmed. Another subscriber confirmed it. We lost a talented friend. Fly High Teddy...
Shark boombox GF-767 I have a problem see if you got help me out. When I switch bands AM FM OR Show wave Tape Deck. It's stays the same just static. I'm going to make it Bluetooth upgrade with a car audio amplifier and speakers. But I don't want to touch the guts. What you think it is the band switch. Or something inside burned out. Let me know if you can.
First, you want to clean the band switch as well as all sliders, switches with contact cleaner to see how it change the sound quality. Most likely the statics noise came from bad switch connection and most likely you can fix it with contact cleaner.
Hi Teddy! excellent video tutorial!
what is the name of the lubricant for the damper 2:13:50
