  • More than 20 Lakhey from different places in Lumbini Province participated in the Competition including Palpa Tansen Dheme Baja Khala, Butwal, RuRu Gulmi, and more.
Uncertainly some of the performance was missed by me but I am glad I went to see this historical win.
    Something about Lakhey:
"Lakhey" refers to a mythical creature in Nepalese folklore, particularly in the cultural and religious traditions of the Newar community of Nepal. The Lakhey is often depicted as a demon or a supernatural being with a ferocious appearance. The term "Lakhey" is derived from the Newari language, spoken by the Newar people where "La" means "meat" and "Khey" means "eggs".
The Lakhey is commonly portrayed as a mischievous and powerful character, but the narrative surrounding Lakhey can vary in different cultural contexts and interpretations. The character adds a sense of mystique and excitement to the traditional festivities and reflects the rich cultural tapestry of the Newar community in Nepal.
