Total comp is about right, but that's not how it's calculated. 3 times your revenue as salary is the yardstick for the associates and partners with no equity in the firm. Equity partners don't make a salary and aren't W2 employees; they take the profits and get dividends twice a year. A lot of them don't bill like the associates do because their value to the client isn't their legal knowledge (the cost to service ratio for the highest hourlies are not justifiable in most matters) but their sign off. I've used big law firms as a client, and now I am on the other side as an attorney. (Pearson Specter is likely based on Wachtell - single office big hitters in NYC - and their partners make between $8-10MM)
Depends of course on the firm. But their company should display a big law. Profit per partner at the leading big law firms range from 2.5 mn to 10 mn +
If I ever earned over 6 million a year, id maybe work 10 years and retire. Doing work like that is not a job many can do their whole lives. Id rather still have some left to enjoy what I earned.
@@bert5492i don't need or want that much money, I just want enough to live a modest life where I don't need to slog into work every day just to keep the lights on and food on the table. I wanna have the freedom to work because I want to earn some extra cash, and be free to leave if I want to do something else, or pursue a different career path. 20 million is way more then I think I could ever spend in a life time. I could buy a house outright, buy a half decent car, furniture, and coast off the other 18 million for the rest of my life without ever needing to work at all and actually have the freedom to go do anything I want where ever I want.

I hope you one day earn this amount of money on a yearly basis, and so much more. But because of that mindset and attitude, it’s clear you won’t.
