This was Cory Barlog's scariest moment. Keep in mind, the Sony higher ups that played the prototype builds were very disappointed with it. They couldn't fathom the thought of their brutal flagship mascot doing minute things like picking flowers. They almost canned the entire project, but decided to take the risk and gave Cory and Santa Monica a chance. Hearing the audience scream like they did throughout the whole presentation brought so much relief and goosebumps to him. 😂
God of War was my best friend’s favorite game as a kid. Knew all the lore, and played each game over and over again on the PlayStation 2. Bonded over it as elementary school kids. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2017, and never got to see the return of the series. I played my way through the games as best I could, and honestly it was nice because while I was paving my own glorious adventures, it felt like he was still there with me enjoying the game all the same. So when that first announcement trailer was dropped, I just recall how bittersweet it was for me at the time.
I remember when that reveal was done. There were so many videos. And predictions of what this game's gonna be like. I'm still hoping for an Egyptian God of war.
Kratos becoming a dad (again) was perfect. We were all now becoming father’s or already were. We grew up with him and like he were battling the world during the first set of games. Now flash forward and when this dropped we older gamers understood; protect our son at all cost! Beautiful game
