I have two Rythmik sealed E15 subs for home 2-channel / home theater - value is really good - down to 14hz in my room with plenty of output, accuracy and cleaned up room modes.
YO KOOL!! I’m running 2 SB3000! Best moved i ever made!
Figured I'd leave a better comment, hopefully or at least share my current experience in particular to subs.
Current setup has 3 subs. 1 is a Mirage PS-12 subwoofer. The second is the entry level HSU STF-1 sub and third is SVS SB-1000.
Unfortunately these are all different subs and further more 2 being vented while one is sealed. This very much goes against what most would suggest but is a very pleasing overall experience after taking time to dial everything in (separately then in conjunction with eachother) in terms of gain, frequency, crossover, placement etc.
The 2 ported subs are in front with the sealed right behind my seating position for a near field experience which the sealed sub does a fine job of.
Its nowhere near top notch but is a surprisingly balanced sound.
I can eliminate the 2 front ported version's and just keep the sealed on for 2 channel duties which still sounds great but obviously comes with the downfalls of using a single sub.
Duel (at least) should always be the answer for those who care.
Kind regards and happy listening!
Kudos to you, and your channel. Thank you for sharing! Your videos are very helpful for people new to A/V - Hifi. You have been doing reviews, and other A/V videos for at least 3 or 4 yrs that I know of. I am a big believer in what subs can do for the acoustics in your listening area. Subwoofers offer so much more than just bass.
Thank you for watching!
I had two slim pioneers under each front seat. They were thumping for sure!
I use one sub in my car. It’s a JL Audio HO112R-W7 with a 1,000 JL amp pushing it.
Didn't know Andrew Robinson was going to be a special guest!
😂 😁 😀 😆 😅 😄 😃
Thanks for the video KPace! 👍
He begged me to be on the video 🤣
Good review 👍🏼 however one thing you didn't discuss was the size of the front speakers. Someone with say, Klipsch rp 280's or bigger might be fine with a Rythmik F18 or a SVS PC4000
Using one 12" BK Electronics sealed sub, the passive radiator version. I was very familiar with ported subwoofers but not sealed, so at first I was questioning if I made a mistake. After some time listening to the sealed sub though, I began to like it just as much as a ported sub, both definitely have different bass characteristics. One thing I don't miss though with ported subs is the chuffing from the cheap subs I once had, lol. Definitely thinking about adding a second sub in the near future, but for now I suspect I could squeeze a better sound from the one sub than what I currently have after calibration. The plan is to use REW + MultEQ-X to get the best result possible, vs just using the built-in AVR calibration process or android app.
I say 2 smaller in different places in your room so you don’t have any nulls and it is even bass
Either way, I bet the answer is 2 😊
Nice channel man, What Subwoofer would you recommend for a home listening turntable ?
Thank you, brother. Kanto speakers are popular. Edifier are most popular. I've reviewed a lot of bookshelf speakers on my "the desk" Playlist
@@Kpaceguy Will check them out cheers
Highly informative!
I have always prefered sealed sub over ported ones, using one sealed at the moment
I'm just wondering if stereo effect is noticeable/applicable on subs the way it is on midrange drivers
Thanks!
The lfe Channel is a mono signal so stereo wouldn’t apply. Marantz and denon does have a directional bass feature but the jury is still out on it.
Sealed subs take a better advantage of room gain. But if a ported sub is tuned low(10hz) then the same would be true. But gsg and jtr are the only manufacturers I know of that makes a tune that low.
Technically 4 subs places in the corner will give you 9 to 12 more db of headroom vs 1 subs. Which is great for eq.
In the bass region, a 6 db increase sounds twice as loud.
@@bigjack79 Thanks for this info!
You can do stereo effect with subs if they have high level inputs and supposedly it is very effective and maybe the best sound
@@Kpaceguy correct, you can with rel and other subs that have a high level input, but that’s not the lfe change.
@@Kpaceguy OK, i see!
Thanks for this info, i appreciate!
Just for clarification
A smaller sub doesn't move faster!. Because the speed at which it moves is exactly the frequency it produces...usually a smaller element is able to stop its movement more easily and thus cause less "distortion" which manifests itself in several different ways
I have a500watt 12 inch Polk sub n I had a 10 inch Polk prob 200watt, but I just replaced the 200 watt with a paradigm sw2200, I was expecting a huge jump in bass but it just made a bunch of dead spots in my room, the bass is deeper, but not louder, I'm kinda disappointed, what should I do?
Get a 2nd
Do you think the skar vxf or your sundown x15 have better sq?
VXF. But the louder and lower notes of the X is much better to the point where you can sacrifice a little Sq for just a better frequency range in general.
@@Kpaceguy wouldn’t the X have better low notes because it’s bigger than the vxf meaning it has lower Fs? I’m trying to decide between two vxfs 15s or one X 15. They both have the same Fs and the vxfs sound get louder so I’m probably gonna go with the vxfs
Thanks for the reply too
@@Handlethatineedtouse yes the x plays much lower and louder
Sound slightly out of sync. Good video.
two 8" equal ?
What exactly is your question?
I have two SVS PB-1000 Pro subs currently. Later I would like to add a third sub. I would like to go bigger sub for the third one. Any suggestions?
If you like your svs now, just go up the line
Can't hear anything brother
Refresh it
@@Kpaceguy: Excellent, watching now. Thanks and take care Kpaceguy 👊
@@carsthatgoboom4854 Thanks for watching!
your audio is out of sync
I don't know how it happened lol but I guess it is what it is 🤦
