See what I find most interesting about this BYR is that the chocolate-oriented ones are all like super bad.
Cause now granted i'm only 24, but I remember when I was in elementary, and mom needed a babysitter for me while she went to work.
But anyways, I've had things like cocoa pebbles, the 3 chocolate types of pop tarts and cocoa puffs.
The pebbles taste wise I preferred over the fruity pebbles, just too many flavors at once in my opinion.
Cocoa puffs were always okay if you needed something, but I prefer Reese Puffs cereal tbh.
As for the pop tarts, chocolate was always my favorite, especially with a nice glass of milk, the cookies and cream always reminded me of like the off brand Oreos, they weren't bad but they weren't "good" either.
And the Sundae based flavor was more or less disappointing, like it wasn't "terrible", but it wasn't like top 5 for me.
Top 5 for me is like Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Chocolate Fudge, Blueberry, Cherry, Strawberry, with like the Cookies n Cream being like an "honorable mention".
But I definitely understand that disconnect of, I want breakfast, not sweet sweets when I first wake up, but I never found Poptart's that sweet in general compared to most candies n stuff.
Pop Tarts are a part of a complete breakfast. It’s not complete until you have 9! I laugh so hard I started coughing or maybe that the pollen getting to me. 😂🤣
I usually agree with your ranking but not this go. S'mores are the best hands down!
Looks like you've dropped a few pounds Matt.
@@EK--ry3lr They're a solid 5 of 10 for me tbh. They're decent at "emulating" the flavor, but i've had better flavors.
but they are better than the sundae flavor
Just looked on the Pop Tart website and there are 9 other frosted flavors that you didn't get the pleasure of reviewing. I think we need an episode 2.
Agreed.
I agree, just adding two that could be top two - - -Banana Bread and Strawberry Milkshake....
Let's start a petition
Holy fuck, there are GRAPE flavored Pop-Tarts now?! AND WHY ARE THEY IN THE "FAVOURITES"?! I have literally never even HEARD of GRAPE flavored Pop-Tarts... Am I in the wrong timeline?
And what happened to Chocolate Banana Split?!
Friends don't let friends microwave a pop tart!
Agreed
Yup
Never.
Who in they're right mind microwaves a Pop tart?!
I like them that way
Matt absolutely hating the chocolate ones was something I never expected. Hot Fudge Sunday, Chocolate Fudge, and S'mores are literally my favorite flavors 😂
Ironic he can't trust chocolate Pop-Tart enjoyers, I can't trust him for putting Cherry so high wtf
Chocolate fudge is my favorite.
@@skip3619I like the cherry one a lot and also the smores.
I used to like hot fudge but either my taste buds changed or they changed the recipe
@@dizzyhorsestoo sweet for me.
As the “Rat Update” happened, a Disney ad with Mickey Mouse started playing. 😂. Couldn’t have happened at a better time.

Road trip tip…the space age wrapper doubles as a heat blanket on the car’s dash. Leave it on the dash when you run into the store and it’s as hot as your toaster in 5 minutes. You’re welcome.
That would work pretty good in Florida! Dashboard Pop Tarts!
We also learned last year that a pop tart wrapper will set off the metal detector in an airport.
So the kid friendly version of baking cookies on the dash or a lasagna in the Mail box or egg on the pavement.
It’s getting hotter than when I was a kid
Brilliant!
“Children just be barkin and flippin-“ Daycare teacher here, 100% can confirm
THE HOT FUDGE SUNDAE IS MY FAVORITE

Oh God bless you. 😂 Your house must be an endless unpredictable maze if they’re out here moving furniture around! 😂
@rlmesek I see you out here 🤣🫡 We’re surviving! 🤣
And now I need to see Matt rank Lunchables.
Criteria:
1. Taste
2. Does it fill you up?
3. Drink and dessert quality (my brothers and I used to choose our lunchables based solely upon these)
4. Does it have micro plastics in them?
@@nathanfrazier8525 hope so, it's the micro favorings that make it

"Children be barkin' and flipping. " So true, Matt.
Perfect description of kids if you ask me
I've always said that toddlers are basically puppies/kittens. They play until they passout asleep. You have to constantly check to see what they put in their moths. They're super cute and sweet, but they always have an odd smell.
this is easy. brown sugar and cinnamon slightly warmed done. takes home the top spot on my book
I am right there with you!
Speaking the truth.
with butter
I am *soooo* torn between Brown Sugar and Frosted Cherry. Both tops in my book.
@@LorisWhirled Absolutely. With a good pat of butter on top.
You have got to be my favorite comedian. It's a southern thing just isn't the same without you. This was a great video. Thank you for keeping the laughs going. Looking forward to the next video. Have a great one.
I'm telling you, unfrosted is better. I swear to you, get an unfrosted poptart, toast it, and then spread butter on it.
It is better than any frosting you have ever had. It is the best way to consume a poptart by far.
I’ve been a crazy person my whole life and spread butter on top of frosted cherry. It’s amazing.
100% Especially the BSC. The frosting is just too sweet.
I agree to unfrosted and buttered but honestly rarely eat them anymore.
Today I learned that people butter their Pop-Tarts
@@yetinother tellin ya, don't knock it till you try it. I picked it up from an ex's grandmother lol
I’m old enough to remember the pre frosted days when you get fancy when mom put butter on them.
That sounds awsome.😅
Butter really made pop tarts even better no doubt...but last thing I needed was more calories on my dense calorie item lol
You didn't need that hard frosting because the fruit filling was plentiful and delicious.
Yes amen it tastes like butter flake pie. Ppl are missing out for that crunchy sugar on top that is flavorless hahah
Yeah unfrosted strawberry, hot, with butter is objectively the best pop tart
This is the kind of quality content I subscribed for.
Same here.
Me too 😁🤣
Wrong? I mean cookies and cream being ranked next to last? Seriously?
@@skillcoiler 😂😂😂😂 he hurt you, huh?
@@skillcoiler the cookies and cream pop tarts are 💯💯💯
The "salad" comment killed me 😂😂😂😂
"With a hint of lice..." 😂😂😂 Thank you for your sacrifice, Matt! 👍
As a kid we never got frosted pop tarts because my stepdad only likes the unfrosted blueberry and strawberry.
So I toasted them and smeared peanut butter on top, and that was soooo good.
For me, the key is to toast the frosted ones until it starts to caramelize, but then they have to cool or it will burn your mouth worse than a 90’s Pizza Hut pan pizza!
Speaking of 90’s, that wild berry pop tart looks like a 90’s skating rink.
Unfrosted strawberry with peanut butter? Thanks for the pro tip! 🤯
Love yo profile pic
I saw the title and was like “if doesn’t do both room temp and toaster temp… this is not valid.”
Matt does both, reason #eleventybillion why Matt is the best ranker.
Also worth ranking them frozen.
Fun fact- one Pop Tart is considered a serving. I’m guessing they put 2 in a package because of two slots on the toaster, but if you are watching your weight, be aware. And I normally consider them a dessert instead of a breakfast item.
It's a quick breakfast for me for Sunday morning, but I only end up eating one. Mostly because of the serving size.
Well according to Stoffers and their lasagna I'm a family of 4.
One with the morning meds, one with the evening!
@@andrewstoll4548 yo same

Matt's reaction to the pop tart popping was awesome 😂
How dare you diss the chocolate fudge one! That's the MVP right there
Yeah... slightly overcooked with butter on top 😘👌✨
Totally agree - Absolutely my favorite
I ate two chocolate pop tarts for breakfast virtually every day for the first 18-20 years of my life.

All of the potheads and 90s kids are going to come for you, you bad bad man.
4:49 True... Fun fact: The name was also a play on the term "Pop Art", which was still a relatively new art movement when they were introduced in 1964.
“Please don’t be chocolate” proceeds to pull out the worst pop tart ever 😂
Cherry is the GOAT! The last three are really more dessert pop tarts. Granted, all of them are more fitting as dessert than breakfast.
Glad I’ve found my people who appreciate Cherry. My favorite by far. I’d take an unfrosted cherry Poptart over a frosted strawberry Poptart all day.
When Toaster Struedel hit the scene, that was the End of the Pop-Tart era for me.
And then Toaster Strudel, at least in my area, stopped being a thing altogether. I can now only find the gross strawberry flavored Toaster Strudel.
I recently got the raspberry toaster streusel and I have to say, it was just ok. I was sad
@privacyvalued4134 that's no Bueno! If they don't have the cream cheese with the fruit flavor, I don't want it!
They have gone down the drain! Tried them again recently and was so sad - bland, not much filling, disappointing.
The ones with bacon and egg beat those out in my opinion
My entire childhood of having my favorite pop-tart be cherry has just been backed by bless your rank. Couldn't be happier.
You got more and more unhinged as you got more sugar in you! 😂
Also, you had a bit of Wreck It Ralph energy with your "I hate chocolate" vibes haha!
the smore flavor is one of my favorites along with the cinnimon one
Need a part 2 with the other frosted Pop Tarts (Grape, Raspberry, Confetti Cupcake, Chocolate Chip, Boston Creme Donut, Apple Cinnamon Apple Jacks, Banana Bread, Chocolatey Chip Pancake, and Strawberry Milkshake)
Hold up. Where do you live? I’ve never heard or seen some of the flavors you listed and of the ones I call basic are hard to find anymore
Surely there’s a seasonal pumpkin spice too. But boy those sound gross…
Even as a child I couldn't stand the chocolate flavored Pop-tarts, but cherry was, and still is, my favorite. Wonderful ranking Matt!
Strawberry here. And agreed. The butyric acid taste is stroooong in that chocolate!
you figuring out the reason for the name was hilarious. I've always been a fan of the blueberry frosted poptart. simple and classic.
Brown sugar cinnamon has ALWAYS been my favorite! For some reason the ones that come in certain MRE menus taste even better 🤤 it's like they're injected with extra freedom
You have to mean extra meth, right? /jj
If you actually toast your pop tarts, you probably have your life together and that means we can’t be friends because I thrive in chaos.
Truth.
100%.
I want my pop tarts with ice cream stacked between the two
@@breakingbacon658 New snack unlocked...... Question is, which ice cream?
I don't think any PopTart expires....EVER! Pop tarts live forever!
Inventor of the PopTart was William "Bill" Post. He died in February 2024 @ age 96.
PopTart "debuted" in 1964.
Oh, they do! The pastry starts to disintegrate - ask me how I know. 🤢
I can tell you that they do expire. When you open the wrapper you’re greeted with a smell like play dough. It’s terrible
Strawberry pop tarts fresh out of the toaster with BUTTER are divine!
And I I love the hot fudge sundae! So yummy!
I don't know if I can trust your other ranks because Cookies and Cream is delicious.
Agreed! When they first came out, they were called Oreo...until their partnership with them ended and they changed the name to Cookies and Cream...my all-time favorite whether warm or room temp and even better straight from the freezer!!
RIP Matt's will to live with Pop Tarts.
a little butter on the back of a toasted pop tart is divine!!!! mango pop tarts are my fave but pretty sure they are discontinued!
Matt should do an episode where he tries foods that people argue over whether or not the colors/flavors taste different! Like Froot Loops, Veggie Straws, etc.
Also he should do a goldfish and/or cheez it flavors ranking!
My favorite is Chocolate fudge: tastes like a fudge brownie, and you don't have to eat the whole pan! Best heated, but right out of the pack is good too. My other two favorites are unfrosted blueberry, and unfrosted strawberry, also toasted. Maybe a tiny bit of butter melted on top.
Try putting the chocolate fudge in the freezer. Game changer.
@@ChickumBurtango OK!

Chocolate fudge and unfrosted blueberry are my favs too!
@@user-ph6yh4hs9z HUH?
Cherry pop tarts are my favorite. But I love cherry pie, cherry cobbler, cherries in general. 🤷♀️
The absolute swing in emotion from the trash sundae to the cherry nostalgia euphoria was fun to watch!
Pop-tarts need to bring back Apple Cinnamon! It was my favorite then they discontinued it! 😡
Yes. I miss those too.
Even as a kid, my favorite was always the unfrosted cherry. I don't think they make it anymore so the unfrosted strawberry and the frosted cherry were my backup.
They also used to have unfrosted Grape!
A pop tart without frosting is like a burger without cheese. Just doesn't hit the same.
@@jxchamb not true at all. It just isn't as overly saturated with sweetness.
@@shadowkissed2370 But it's naked. It feels...naughty.
I miss the unfrosted cherry too!
I am one of the odd people who have never liked their frosting. I much prefer their unfrosted variety. The best was some non-frosted store brand that had a sprinkling of coarse sugar on top at it was perfect!
@fuzzyizmit I'm right there with you about the unfrosted Pop Tarts. I much prefer them, though they can be hard to find in the stores. Currently they offer only 3 flavors unfrosted: Blueberry, Brown Sugar Cinnamon, and Strawberry.
Do a part 2 with microwaved and frozen pop tarts to see if it changes the order of preference.
Great video as always!!
IDK… My favorite is Unfrosted Blueberry.
Hard to find, mostly on the bottom shelf of the display.
Best part is putting butter to melt on it.
Some people put it on top, for the holey side, but the best is on the underside, flat with ZigZag design, great for licking the melted butter off before taking a bite! 😋

Omg I remember the kaybee toys! And I think you are pretty spot on with the flavors. When I was a kid, we had the chocolate ones, but brown sugar cinnamon is always my go to. Poptart has gone crazy with flavors over the years. Remember growing up how there were only a couple of flavors?
As a fellow 37 yr old man. One of the best and most accurate Bless Your Rank. That order is perfect.
I'm sure I will be toasted here, but I am a non-frosted strawberry fan and have been for ages. For me they are the best ever.
Those are my fave, as well.
This is the way...
Non frosted pop tarts rule because - BUTTER!!!
I'm old enough to remember when they first came out. For some reason my mom, who refused to buy sugared cereals decided we could have pop tarts for breakfast once a week.
Our toaster was one of their wedding gifts from the 50's. It was slow and every piece had the same pattern of burned spots and barely browned areas. Mama found it faster and easier to slap those pop tarts on a cookie sheet, slather those babies in butter then put them under the oven broiler just till that butter melted and oozed into the crust. I think Mama did pop tarts on whatever day she just wasn't up to par. But, nevertheless, it was my favorite breakfast treat.
Usually Mama made us the stereotypical southern breakfasts. Pancakes, waffles, eggs and bacon etc. I think us kids in school in the 60's were transitional because that farm breakfast was expected but we didn't have a farm, or before school work chores. We just went to school. And those big breakfasts made you sleepy and bloated the first hour or so sitting in school. Pop Tarts made it so much better. Sure, the sugar buzz probably helped.
God bless Pop Tarts. I probably gave my kids too many in the 80's and 90's. But it was because they were such a treat for me as a kid and I only got them once a week. So, wanting better for my kids, they got them A LOT.
I like every single one of these. It's important to note that some are just good as snacks (ie, the Chocolate flavors). A hot Smores Pop Tart with a cool glass of milk is incredible.
I bought that shirt for myself and my husband went nuts over it. I had to tell him multiple times that the store was called The Gettin' Place because he thought I was being funny. 😂
An episode I didn’t know I needed but extremely happy to have!!!
When he pulled up the Oreo pop tart! I am dying!
I sometimes add a little butter to the hot pop-tart and cut it so the butter melts and combines with the pastry
Ah! You missed my favorite, raspberry pop-tarts. Those are the best!
Yeah, raspberry is amazing. Still love the brown sugar ones though
I read that artificial raspberry flavor comes from an animal gland so guess those aren't vegan.
Oh man I bet those smell amazing. Bet I also couldn't eat them at all!
Matt got a unicorn cherry flavor. Not because it was good. But because the frosting covered basically the entire Pop-Tart. Kellogg has gotten REALLY stingy with the frosting on Pop-Tarts. I've had some recently that may as well have been unfrosted because it looks like the tart accidentally got splashed with some frosting as the conveyer belt shot it down the line.
Our local store often has discounts on 2 boxes - Cherry and Brown Sugar Cinnamon is my go-to pair.
I love the smell of burnt pop tarts in the morning. Smells like breakfast.
you nailed it my dude, brown sugar and cinnamon is my fav one, second is cherry, and third is strawberry. the only three i buy, but mostly brown sugar and cinnamon
You need some Rainier cherries.. theyll change your mind about how cherries are actually really good
Personally I think the Rainier variety is too sweet (and expensive...even in Washington state). I prefer the fresh Bing cherries or just regular dark cherries.
Hey Matt, don't knock the unfrosted Strawberry poptarts till you try them. The unfrosted Strawberry is truly the best, no lie. It has nothing to do with trying to diet. You get much more of the inner Strawberry goodness and you aren't overloaded by the sugar.
Put a little butter on that puppy just out of the toaster. Yum
Funny thing about unfrosted vs. frosted poptarts. The nutritional part is about the same. You get a little more sugar with the frosted, but they make the breading layer on top thicker on the unfrosted to make up for the missing icing layer. Not really much difference health-wise.
I’m a blueberry or strawberry girl. I am old enough to remember them before the frosting appeared. Way better back then ☺️
Blueberry is great.
Best pop tart ever: the chocolate filled with the graham cracker crust. They made those during a short period when I was in high school (probably 1990 or 91) and I have missed them ever since. Hands down the best pop tart I have ever had.
The s'mores flavor sounds closest to that.
There was a chocolate chip one i remember having in the early 2000's that sounds close to that. was brown with little chocolate pockmarked holes.
@@pharrigan-hikesthey still make that one. My kids like it
@@butwhytho4858 oh nice! Good to know. Our local stores haven't carried it for a while.
Frosted chocolate and Smore Pop-tarts, both warmed up, are probably my 2 favorites.
Fun video, looking forward to Pop-tart reviews part 2!
Toasted s’mores will always be the best. But I do not like artificial fruit flavors, so those berry flavors are a no-go for me. 😂
But that you had to try it at the end? Woof.
Amen. I'm right there with you. S'mores for the win.
Toasted or not, the s'mores pop tarts will always be my fav!
I have an old boss that had never heard of fixing a pop tart in a toaster. She thought I was crazy when she saw me doing it. She, and her kids, have always eaten them straight out of the box.
I feel like there is a Bless Your Rank breakfast cereal episode that should happen in the future. All chocolate of course!
Now I'm looking fwd to Ranking Salad dressings.
Matt Mitchell, tasting and ranking things so we don't have to...also tasting things we didn't know needed tasting and ranking!
Yeah, you need to watch that toaster. That frosting is flammable.
I always need to watch these rankings when I am home alone. You are too funny. Coincidentally, I ate a little piece of a Pop Tart today after many many many years - still not great. lol 😁
20 years ago I bought my daughter a toaster for college that had a pop tart setting on it…I’m still using it.
Bless your heart! I can feel your sweat from here! Thank you for doing this for us, and I hope your hospital stay is not too long!
I love all of these flavors and I will not apologize for it.
Personal favorite is Wildberry. Brown Sugar Cinnamon is also improved if you keep heating it until the frosting begins to melt and caramelize.
Loved this! Breakfast isnt complete until you have 9 of them!! Frosted strawberry is the best!!
When my brothers & I were growing up, we thought that the multi-colored sprinkles on the Strawberry Pop-Tarts looked like Christmas lights, so we called them Christmas Pop-Tarts.
They used to have a flavor called Frosted Vanilla Cream that I really liked. I hate that they discontinued that flavor. They were better than the Cookies & Creme flavor.
This needs to be a multi part episode👏 look forward to this content
Crumbled blueberry pop tart with vanilla ice cream (Bluebell!) is amazing.
My favorite is the blueberry! 🫐
I found out yesterday on another video that Kellogg's didn't come up with the idea for Pop Tarts. Post came up with ones called Country Squares. Oddly enough, the man who created the Kellogg's version was William Post. The name Pop Tarts is a take on Pop Art, which was big at the time.
I have never been as much in agreement with Matt's ranking as this episode. Ride or die for Cherry and Brown Sugar Cinnamon. Everything else can be left on the shelf.
Well then he is not the only objectively wrong person.

My favorite used to be the nowhere-to-be-found-now unfrosted cherry. But I gave up a lot of sugary stuff recently so I definitely feel Matt’s pain for eating so many in a row. That’s a bad evening in the making😂
Phenergan here I come
Untrusted cherry is every where in Ohio, but Ohio doesn't exist either.
In our toaster oven we can lay them flat. I very lightly toast an unfrosted Strawberry Pop Tart, smother it with peanut butter then reloads it. Pop Tart Heaven.
When I was a senior in high school the school store sold the hot fudge sundae pop tarts and I loved them. I'd buy a pack of them and a Banana Colada Fuze (RIP) and eat them in my next class. Recently I was looking for them at the store because I had a craving for them but couldn't find them. Watching this video, it's probably for the best 🤣
