The Rank has Returned with a much-anticipated matchup of chain sub sandwiches. Will a powerhouse like Subway take home the crown? Perhaps Jersey Mike's or Jimmy Johns. Don't forget Firehouse Subs and Panera Bread. There's also Schlotzky's. They did not win.

Why don’t you come clean and admit that you are from Northern Maine? It’s way too obvious that you aren’t from the south. Southerners love sourdough bread and would pick it over every other sandwich on the table. It’s a southern thing, so that tells us that you aren’t southern.

Jimmy John's is now owned by a private equity firm. Be prepared to watch the quality of everything drop off to fill board member's pockets until JJ dies a quiet death.
Jersey Mike's is still community owned Franchises that give back to those communities they live in. Private Equity is coming for them too, so it's important to support business that do more than just generate revenue to the CEO.

I wish Penn Station would expand. Sooo many people are missing out on the most glorious subs of all time. Cold turkey dagwood, with provalone, mayo, lettus, tomato, onions, salt, pepper, banana peppers, oregano, oil & vinegar. You're welcome.

Just visited the other day. Shocked by the authenticity of their cold Italian! A true hoagie worthy of fame.
Really dumb idea for them to sell those fries though...

you do forget that we don't need no stinkin' sauce for our brisket in Texas. That paper is just sopping up grease, and believe me, a fatty brisket has plenty of that for me and the paper.

I was a kid when Subway came to my little rural town. My Dad always made us all get cold cut combos (the cheapest sandwich) with everything (leaving off free toppings was wasting money. I can't even start to count how many of those I ate after little league games, or at family "picnics" (is it really a "picnic" if you just take a sack of luke warm Subway to the park?).
To this day, I'll buy one Subway cold cut combo (with only toppings I actually want) every summer. It tastes like childhood. And Mayo.

I dunno im probably the only person in this comments section that loves subway. Although sub shops are gonna be what you make of them. You have dozens of options, dozens of ingredients. Make it your way. I've never had anything against subway. I just cant see what everyone complains about with them.

By where I live, the best subs are from a small mom & pop donut shop. They serve coffees, donuts, & sandwiches all freshly made in the shop. Ty Matt. I love your ranking vids. 💜👍🏻

My biggest take-away here is how many places screwed up a very simple order. Also, I haven't had Schlotzsky's in years, but I still remember how weird their bread is.

  • @10000spidersinatrenchcoat

You know it’s funny, I never saw a jersey mike’s until I left jersey but saying “fuck it, just make a sandwich” and somehow winning by just making an adequate sandwich is the most jersey thing I’ve seen

My wife fist pumped the air when Matt ranted against pickles. Preach, brother!
What sub does Matt have at Firehouse? Is it the brisket? I bet it's the brisket.
Oh, and our local Firehouse's mural features a fire that the brother of a coworker (accidentally) started, so that's kind of surreal.

Matt don’t diss the Schlotzsky’. They have been around since the. ‘70s and we Texans love it. It’s not artesian vibes. It’s old Austin-based hippie vibes.

I’ll go with Subway anytime. I usually get everything on it I can. I usually end up ordering the veggie sub, tho, with cheese. It’s a bit cheaper, and you really don’t miss the meat.
