That's why you should never pre-order games or buy them on launch lol. Honestly i only did that once in last 7 years and it was PS4 Sekiro Collector's Edition ;)

the CPU usage still sucks. 5800X3D shouldn't be like 60% loaded. That will still make 5600X be like 90% utilized and potentionally bottleneck mid range GPUs.
@@roastinpeace2320 um i just tried it on my 4080 with 12400 and at 1440p max setting i'm not seeing any bottleneck got 100% utilisation my GPU and like 75-80% on CPU. I do have bottleneck in spider-man remastered though and it's craaazy GPU sits at like 60% tops it will be my next upgrade to 13500 or 13700. But the Last Of Us is perfectly fine at least in prologue i haven't checked any further game areas.
not really actually the cpu usage is still skyrocketing. they fixed the vram tho
3:11 "J" marked on the horses stands for "Jackson" which is some kind of city full of survivors (it's where Joel's brother lives and it's where Joel and Ellie will live in PART 2 of the game)
I guess they did that so if they ever find a horse out in the wild they can tell if it's one of theirs, cool attention to detail

Yeah, it's pretty great that a 70 euros game is playable 6 weeks after launch. Almost 2 months of being unplayable.
Chris Redfield Actually better than most pc releases nowadays, games like Jedi Survivor and Redfall will take at least a year to be playable.
Btw Texture Streaming Rate set to "Normal" will reduce the vram usage by a lot if you want to play at 1080p Ultra
Yeah, I am surprised he didn't mess around with that option, I tested it and not seeing any texture popins personally, game looks the same while performing a lot better.

I already finish it a couple of months ago, with the same graphics card. I nice to know they improved the game, I played 1440p dlss mid-settings high texture, and was really nice.

In the meantime I avoided all the drama about the ending. And got a perfect ending. BUT ONLY AFTER BEING FORCED TO CHEAT MY WAY THROUGH "GALAXY POINTS"!!! Isn't that fun?

I have the 6700 (non XT) paired with a Ryzen 5600 (non X) and 16GB of DDR4 3600. Smart Access Memory enabled.
Ran a test at 1080p high settings preset. Test done in the area near the beginning where Tess, Ellie and Joel are together. FPS was hanging out in the mid 70s, 61FPS low.
What’ weird is that my RAM and VRAM usage were wildly different compared to the 3060ti. My VRAM usage stayed around 9.5GB but never used the full 10GB. My RAM usage stayed around 12.5GB, lower than their 15GB. Both my system and the system in the video were using about 22GB combined RAM\VRAM but in different ratios. Even in the Settings screen where it showed expected VRAM use was different. It showed 6777MB in this video while mine showed 8032MB.
My CPU usage was close to theirs at 70% usage on average with a 91% usage high. Which is also weird considering my 5600 is drastically weaker than their 5800X3D.
Alrighty, looks like I can consider the game purchasable now! My 5700XT didn't have a prayer at launch, but now 1440o seems achievable!
Is there any improvement in the quality of low and medium textures ? If yes, then how much ? I can't do high because 4GB VRAM.
Apparently the low textures are the previous medium textures. Still looks like crap and it consumes 5.5gb...
But at least it's an improvement. Gonna check it out on a 4gb card next

I may be mistaken, but I believe it utilises 7.8GB instead of the projected 7.2GB because the game reserved 10% of the VRAM for shader cache iirc
Running this game on the high preset and with DSR 1.78 (1440p) and then with DLSS balanced. Looks amazing still and basically always around 70 fps. Try these settings out

That's great news! I stopped playing The Last of Us to wait for patches. Now I can resume my game. This is proof that buying AAA games at launch on PC is a bad deal in 2023.

this card has PS5 like performance. On PS5 you can unlock the fps in the 60fps mode using VRR and you get around 65-90fps at native 1440p.

While its great to see the noticeable improvement in game stability / fps / vram usage 🥰👍etc …. This should’ve been delayed a few weeks later after proper beta testing👍💪. Also, it appears that the shaders are still having issues with the 8gb vram buffer 🤦♀🤦🤦♂🙈as the system ram is still being utilised for new textures / shaders etc and not being removed from vram causing eventual system crashes due to running out of system ram 😇🤔

What is the most powerful gpu for i5-9400f? Without cpu bottleneck
I tested 1080p on high with ultra textures.. worked really well with small stutters when loading in new areas. However, Would rather play with high on 1440p
With 1440P High I was having issues it going under 50 fps so i just turned 1440P HIGH DLSS and locked it to 60 fps and it runned quite well.
@@NinjaX2009 aight, I don't mind some stutters/frame drops for 2-3seconds when new areas are loading, but if it's while playing the game in combat for example, it's not very nice. I think 1440p high with dlss is the way to go, or use optimised settings perhaps.

@@Shyrsick Not going to lie most games like last of us, God of war and most single player titles are enjoyed on a tv while relaxing on a couch and multiplayer games are enjoyed on monitor due to quick actions but sadly I don't got an 4K tv (it's just 1080P)
it seems to be area by area on what fps you get. im on a 6700xt, just got in the city and making my way through the first area with clickers. i get 60 with fsr high 1440p. without fsr i dont get much lower. game is still a mess.

yes, even 6gbs are good; 6gbs for Nvidia and 8gbs for AMD are enough for 1080p (intended use) once UE5 games start launching (3-4 years) it will probably fall short.
At last, the performance is now decent but it's still using way too much CPU power to run. RAM usage is still also really high because of the VRAM usage.
I hope Sony will now gets its PC port with decent to good optimization.

There is no tearing when watching a video, the frame sync automatically to the source same way as FreeSync monitor does but without the need of a special monitor.
I'm using a capture card, which captures the actual screen. If I see tearing, you see tearing

i dont understand when i get to populated Areas the FPS drops to 55 and below, i even have NPC density on Very Low, but in unpopulated areas it stays around 60+FPS.

1660ti vs 1070ti
If it were me, I'd probably choose the 1070 ti. The 1660 ti is only a tiny bit faster than the 1070 non Ti, where the 1070 Ti is closer to the 1080. However, there is a difference in power draw. The 1660 Ti has a TDP of 120W, while the 1070 Ti has a TDP of 180W. Almost forgot. The 1660 Ti has only 6GB of vram, while the 1070 Ti has 8GB. So the 1070 Ti should last you longer before running out of vram. Edit: other considerations. The 1070 Ti is older, so it may run out of official driver support sooner. Also, assuming you are buying used, it's entirely possible the 1070 Ti has been run longer than the more recent 1660 Ti, so parts of the older card may wear out faster(fans, solder, capacitors, etc). If you can(assuming you haven't already), I'd try to find out how long each has been in use and what kind of workload they've been exposed to(occasional gaming, full time mining, a mix of both perhaps).

I have r5 5600 x and rx 6700xt .....i had some terrible drops in slums and cargo area,fps was going down from 80 to 27 and staying like that 4-5 mins at least,which was annoying,and guess what..SAM is problem..since i turned off that,in bios....that gone,game works fine now after latest patch..crazy,SAM is usually amazing thing,but in this game,its problem :)
