- It's Saturday long ride day! This is how I prep for and fuel my long rides. As someone who used to hate the bike, I'm starting to become a bit more confident and actually enjoying getting out on the roads.

Hey Laura, loving the vids! Love watching fellow triathlete's journeys. 3 little tips for you;
Firstly, until you get all the right cycling kit, just remember that a trisuit/cycling shorts padding are designed to be worn directly against the skin. So when you want to layer up with leggings, rather wear them over whatever padded shorts you're wearing. Don't want any chafe, cos that's not fun
Secondly, as soon as possible, try and get yourself some clip-on aero-bars. Staying in your aero-bars uses different muscles and keeps your running legs more fresh. Getting used to the clip-ons is important though - especially running off the bike and adjusting to how your muscles react. I've just paid for not doing enough run off the bikes in my IM last weekend.
Lastly, you might have been told at your bike fitting, so you might have tried it already. But for your shoes making your toes numb, adjusting the cleat positioning on the bottom can fix that - it did for me!

@@laurabardsley6205 No problem at all! Glad I can help. I don't have any specific bars in mind, I literally just bought the cheapest set of second hand carbon clip-ons I could find
If youre having to pump your tires before eveyride the valves may be faulty. I usualy do once a week at most, usually only lose 5-10psi every 3-4 rides.

Hi Andy!! Thanks so much, really appreciate it. Great to hear from you! She's not doing triathlon anymore but she's my number one supporter, she does all my swims with me. Absolute legend! And has been entering swim events, walks the dogs miles every day and plays golf every week. She doesn't stop haha
