If they hadn’t broken up we might not have had another legendary band. An American con man hired two groups of musicians to go on tour as the Zombies to “fulfill contractual requirements”. When the scam got busted two members of one of the bands decided to keep playing together and formed Z Z Top.
i guess Im asking randomly but does someone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any help you can offer me.
We had this album. I agree with you. The singing arrangement is so different. And Bloomstone's breathy style, just so great. One of the best bands of that era. They influenced a lot of folks. Still are, like they said.
I saw these guys in concert in the '00s sometime along with some other 60's era bands like Jefferson Airplane, 10 years After, Big Brother and the Holding Company -- a couple more. The Zombies were the best. Just blew me away.
it has gotten to the point where the RR Hall of Fame is meaningless. Zombies had several hit songs in the 60s but nothing close to truly talented and prolific bands like Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys, Mamas and Papas, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, and others. If everyone gets a prize then the prize is meaningless...jus sayn'
The first time I heard this great song , I was 14 and we were driving home from the funeral home after my grandfather died , and it came on the ol' A.M. radio, I loved it , but it was always haunting to me at the same time, reminding me of his death .R.I.P. grandpa .
I would love to see the full version of this interview again; featuring more footage from the festival featured in the first clip of Colin with his solo band. Is there any way to get access to it? It seems to have been deleted completely from the internet.
These guys RULE..& they.always have...hands down. They should've been inducted into the R & R Hall of Fame decades ago!. Why just now? I absolutely love all their hits..they're so creative & talented..not 2 mention cute & hot..& i'm a Gma...close 2 their ages...so I know..that of which I speak 🌝🌝😄😄
The Zombies are playing a worldwide livestream on September 18. veeps.events/TheZombies_YT tickets are only $20. You should see them! They're filming it from Abbey Road Studios in London.Once in a lifetime opportunity!
It's because they are showing some dirty disco version in the background while referencing a classic song A great band can still sound shitty 10 or 15 years later, and if you didn't know any better you'd think they were talking about a completely different song
Love the song (and the group), but the M.O.R. speeded-up lounge-lizard version used for this show is pretty tasteless. But thanks, anyway, for featuring the (only?) song to rival that Pink Floyd one with "b-boom cha-cha", from I think, "Piper At the Gates..." album.
Fuck me is Colin Blunstone a fantastic singer. Odessey and Oracle is one of the greatest albums ever made....check it out...Brief Candles is a masterwork.
Sounds more like out of control egos trying to outdo each other than artists working together to capture the vibe and the magic. It's like they're not even hearing it. Makes me cringe listening to them live.
@@rollingtroll you must've bumped your head and knocked your hearing out of whack...that was some of the worst singing possible especially for a "professional" singer. It was forced -flat- his nasal voice NOT his chest voice...there was nothing musical about his "singing" in that performance as if he were tone deaf. He looked and acted like he was giddy - like he had taken some kind of uppers and was flying pretty high at the moment.
The lead singer's voice is angelic... but he apparently never sings the song the way it is on the recording. Too self indulgent. It's a perfect song on the recording.
The band didn't really had a good name for their kind of music and image in my humble opinion. The Zombies is a band name for something like Death Metal Hardcore or so. Never liked the name The Zombies.
Though in his 70s Colin still sings rings around those half his age.Saw them on the O and O tour a couple of years ago and he blew me away.
The Zombies are one of the few bands that have fans saying "they're so unique" and not being wrong.
Kinda funny the Band broke up BEFORE their biggest hit came out. Giving them life again. No wonder they were called The Zombies.
If they hadn’t broken up we might not have had another legendary band. An American con man hired two groups of musicians to go on tour as the Zombies to “fulfill contractual requirements”. When the scam got busted two members of one of the bands decided to keep playing together and formed Z Z Top.

@Elisha Vincenzo instablaster =)
It`s a pity they quit so early. To me, they were one of the best bands from the sixties.

One of the best vocalists and one of the best keyboard players of all time. And that song is something else!
Always brings me back to 1969, listening on AM radio in my dad's Mustang.
Nowadays, you don't get so many fighter planes with AM radio.
@@Ndlanding .......Because you needed extremely loud and expensive speakers to hear anything......
The Zombies recorded this song in August 1967. Thank you for the story of this classic song.
After so many artists have left us in the ensuing years, it's a treat to hear the creators of this old hit discussing its creation.

April 2020 - His voice nails this song-sexy! Still loving this song
Im a huge fan of Colin anyway but I loved the zombies too, wonderful to know the background to this classic
He’s one of the greatest pop rock singers in the world. The Zombies are the greatest.
The zombies are finally getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

I grew up in Indiana. Every time I hear that song, I hear "what's your name, Hoosier daddy."
I'm rolling!
I'm a Hoosier too ! Evansville ! I also think Hoosier came from who's yer' Daddy ?
The highest praise I can give this song my pick for number one psychedelic song of all time maybe beats out White Rabbit .

Cool song. Great band.
This series is a dream come true
Weird dudes. But one of the best albums of the sixties.
They didn't last long, but produced some really good music.
This is their year! Let's hope that the rock hall gets one right for a change...
is this funky live version available on youtube? I can't find it
Ik ken dit nummer voornamelijk vanwege de film 'Awakenings'. Prachtig begeleidend bij de scene.
Yo.. this disco version is a banger!
You must... YOU MUST... hear the album.

"What's your name, who your daddy, is rich like me." For whatever reason those lyrics crack me up.
Me to but because of the Necro song!
Because you can't remember them all? "Who's" and "he" might help trigger your vague memories.

The Zombies rock!!!!!
I got my ticket to see them in san Francisco this October at palace of fine arts in October
I'm so glad they didn't let him sing that shit version he was doing live at the beginning. The studio version is one of my favorite songs!
Definitely a very unique sound to the song.
But I must admit I really like Brent Bourgeois's cover of the song.
I wonder if they have heard the Necro song lol
What a dreadful version that live mess was
Swings and Roundabouts lord knows what drugs they were on
Sung very well though, just rhythmically very off. Tonally it's spot on, impressively spot on even.
