  • My wife is a bit allergic to mosquito bites. The bites swell up huge when they bite her. So for her birthday this year, I bit the bullet and forked out mucho dinero and got her the Mosquito Magnet. Full disclosure, it's an investment, not a repeating purchase. So on the minus, they're a few hundred dollars. On the plus, less Off and DEET products (by the way, look for Icadrin repellents. Works just as good as DEET and smells like candy, not chemical hell).
    As you can tell, it murdered a whole mosquito population!! Very happy with this purchase!
    Update 2022/07/18: Year 3: It's been another horrible year for mosquitos (aka: very wet year). You basically can't stand outside without repellent. The city is spraying for mosquitos. But our little one acre oasis stands firm thanks to the Mosquito Magnet. Just like year 1, the basket is filled again this year, but you can walk around our living area (about 1 acre) with few mosquito attacks. Walk outside that area though, and get bombarded. Unbelievable how good this works.

    If i was the mayor or governor of a city/state i would propose a bill to have a huge mosquito magnet tank made for each city/county, like the size of a county water tank. with emphasis near parks, rivers, and canals. This would eradicate huge populations of mosquitoes. With todays technology you could even fly mosquito magnet drones throughout the community. I don't think taxpayers would complain about this bill being passed through congress. Vote yes by giving this comment a like. Let's help make America great again.

    • @Xean45
      @Xean45  Před 3 lety +1

      Not sure on gnats. It attracts mosquitos by belching out hot CO2. There's also a mosquito attractant you put in with every propane tank refill. It then sucks them in using a fan, where they become dehydrated in the catching bin.

    • @Xean45
      @Xean45  Před 2 lety +3

      The thing is that you do need to buy the attractant strips to go along with the unit sitting there, belching out CO2. The strips make a BIG difference. I change mine with every tank fill (about two a summer).

      @@Xean45 In the timeframe since I sent that, I did an A/B test against a large fan. The fan did better than the Mosquito Magnet. And considering the cost... I was paying 50 cents per mosquito with the Patriot Plus. Because it really is the attractant that does the most work. Not the CO2.
