We just come bk yesterday from rome i really love the place 👍🇮🇹yes its many torist but its good we r safe even its many torist around we go wd the flow👍🇮🇹we love the coloseum and trivi fountain👍
I was there 1 week ago you need to wake up early if you want to explore Rome without tourists 😂 but Rome is so beautiful also I went to Naples and Florence same a lot of tourism
Word to the wise. Buy tickets to ALL attractions online. We went to London and I was amazed at people lined up to buy tickets. What a waste of time! I’ve don’t the same for Italy this year. Pisa, Florence and Rome. All tickets are available online.
When I went to Florence in 1986 it was extremely quiet not even locals around. Not many Americans weren't travelling at the time were travelling a they were scared off of the IRA bombings in the UK several months beforehand. Didn't put us Australians, Canadians and New Zealanders though. 😊
I was in Rome for 4 days 2nd week of April, it was crowded everywhere we go from Pantheon, Trevi, Colosseum there were long lines ! One thing for sure, the weather was perfect cool in the mornings and evening, perfect for long walks. Rome is full of history and memorable.
Trevi fountain is so beautiful. But, there are so many people, it is hard to enjoy. Sad. Wow the Spanish steps are crowded also. I enjoyed them early morning. So gorgeous. The Pantheon is so lovely inside. When i was at Piazza Narvona, there were mimes. It was so cool. I had never seen one before. Thank you so much for a beautiful video.❤🥰
Recall one lovely early morning had my espresso and cornetto in the piazza. Walked across to deserted Pantheon.Just myself and a few priests for half an hour. Bliss. Those days are gone.
And it’s not even in season! I don’t get it as it should take less than five minutes to see per site but yet looks like people are there for a concert sitting ! No thanks ! Fantastic video thanks.
It usually doesnt get crowded in February/March or August/September. Other than that, it's pack all the time especially summer time (school is out, summer break for everyone). I just left Rome in 20-Apr-2024 and I had a weeks blasts of fun. Grazie Italia 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Can't blame people for wanting to see and experience art, history, and culture...and one of the most fascinating places on earth✨️ More people travel now. It's really the locals that have to deal with the negative side of tourism.
Omg hold your horses. OP really needed to clarify that it was Liberation Day, a very BIG holiday in Italy where everyone is off of school and work and probably on holiday here for the day.
We were there last week. Trevi Fountain and the narrow streets around it were packed solid during the early afternoon, you literally took a step, then had to stop and wait for the mob to move forward before taking another step. We arrived at St Peters Basiica at 0715 on Friday morning and still had to queue for around 80 minutes before getting through security. Glad we went once, but wouldn't go back just because it was so busy.
I guarantee there are teams of pickpockets working that crowd. Please. Be super careful. Carry bags that LOCK and be aware of your surroundings. No cell phones out where they can be snatched in an instant. Do not let your guard down. This advice comes from experience.
The overwhelming crowds are the reason I keep kicking Rome to the back of my travel list when considering vacation spots. As others have mentioned I've had success at places in the very early mornings.
I'm so glad I went in 1986. There weren't lots of tourists. Not many American tourists as they were scared off by bombings in the UK several months beforehand. There's a lot more nationalities that can afford to travel now . When I went there were only a few people at the Trevi Fountain. My husband and I are hoping to go to the UK and Europe but I'm put off by the crowds. Come to Australia instead, a land of natural history and unique fauna and flora. You won't see hordes of tourists unless you're silly enough to go to Bondi Beach. 😊
I just got back last Saturday. There really isn't a shoulder season any longer, maddening crowds pretty much everywhere. If I were ever to go again, it would have to be the winter. We hit the main spots, all super busy, and only can be enjoyed early early.
I borseggiatori sono ovunque anche anche a Parigi e in tutte le grandi città, basta non essere sprovveduti e stare attenti alle borse, altrimenti se vivi con la paura meglio se stai a casa
I would remember to the usual people who will write "too crowd", that in Italy 25 April is a public holiday, this means that many Italians were also there (even some Romans for sure); anyway, pay attention to the times, use alternative streets and even in the most popular spots there will be less crowd. That said, if you really don't want to see anyone, Rome is not for you, better a desert island. 🍺
I have been regularly watching and Rome has been consistently crowded for some time and seems to becoming worse as is Florence and Venice .January to February are quiet months but weather could be not so good However, there are in Rome , some interesting , less visited spots , that have been previously shown by " amazing walking tours "
We were in Rome April 21 to April 26th, yes, crowds are so missive everywhere but the place where you can go without ever having a crowd or hardly anyone os all beautiful Catholic churches. We saw all the major sites with massive crowds everywhere. The people are friendly and the sites are awesome. The Vatican tours need to be done in a better way.
Tourism is a statement of belief. We adore our heritage of Jerusalem, Athens, Roma. Let the people come and affirm their beliefs, because Dark forces threaten us today.
been there at Trevi two weeks ago, same, same, the first time I was there is 55 years ago, watched some black and white photos from back then, nobody, we were nearly alone
Not sure if it's the right niche but if anyone's interested in the hardcore history of the City of Rome throughout the ages I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's playlist for tourists of the Urbs
Been to Italy many times and seems to be getting worse and worse. Used to be a Venice thing but now it seems the whole country is ruined by mobs at high season. Shame, my favorite place.
@@judyrossignuolo6985 Well, my father was born there outside Parma and I have dual citizenship. And when i do go I don't sit on the Spanish Steps or jump in Trevi like many other ugly mostly Americans. And moat of all i don't march around in hoard tour groups cutting in front of people amd blocking access like the Chinese do. There is some etiquette to travel seemingky lost is the point.
Ci sono tantissime città minori molto belle da Vedere, tanti luoghi belli e vivibilissimi, territori di colline e montagne da godere in Italia Perché tutti andate a Roma , Venezia e Firenze? Queste città sono congestionate dal turismo di massa
Is it this crowded because schools for the most part are out for the summer? I was in Rome very briefly in November '75 but not as a tourist. I had very limited time and saw the Colosseum from afar and was at a beautiful large temple monument. The only other person there was an elderly lady dressed in black and feeding spaghetti to dozens of stray cats. I was told that during WWII many had to eat the cats to survive and that they were paying them back by feeding them. I was at the main university and around the city in general and no big crowds but that was during the school year. I wonder too if this is an Italian or European holiday of some kind. It's nice nowadays people have more time to enjoy and explore the world but wow it's too much for me! I spent Christmas that year in Florence and went to famous places but not busy at all. I remember a Santa going around in a small buggy giving rides and his little cassette player playing Christmas songs. I went to midnight mass in the big duomo cathedral and a beautiful choir sang. I prayed and lit a candle among a huge bank of candles for everyone back home. Really though, nothing was crowded. I love Italy and Europe, such a fascinating place!!! I have to laugh though as everyone is loving it to pieces! I remember when I was in Times Square NYC and crowds like this and some comical guy with the masses there started baying like a sheep as we were all making our way ha! Thanks for all the work to create this!
robert New York City!?!?I live 2hrs. from NYC and wouldn't go to NYC anymore even if you paid me.Do you notice how women with children and married couples feel safe in Rome?Take close notice and you won't see any surveillance cameras in Rome. There's a small church in Rome that has 2 Caravaggio paintings worth millions and there's no surveillance cameras watching the paintings.
@@frank1fm634 Of course, I know that Italy and Spain, including Rome, are much better places to live than the United States. I was just talking about the crowd level.
Never understood why people sit at the trevi fountain instead of just admiring and going about their day. Going to rome for the first time next month. Hopefully not too busy
Tourism is worse now as people spend longer in the prime standing locations at the hotspots to get their perfect instagram photo. I find these people insufferable. Respect the beauty, enjoy what you see and by all means take a photo if you like but don’t think for a second you’re special and deserve 15 minutes at the trevi fountain taking 600 photos

We went to Rome early March. Weather was perfect no crowds. Always got up early...
7am. Going back next year. 👍
Even in summer, if you go at 7 o'clock, can you see it without it being so crowded?
Everyone wants to enjoy this beautiful place. Who can blame them
It was Italian liberation day that day, everyone was off of work in school and enjoying the city
In October 1976 I was there ...no comparison, I even walked through the Colosseum at night all alone
not like that now, many muslims there

Was there last May, it was busy as usual, but this looks more crowded😮. Rome was amazing!! Don't forget to see the altar of peace. Ara Pacis Agustae.

We’re there in July. We’ll take bad photos and buy postcards!
