- The Smart Pods have many functions and this shows the operation. No special controller needed. The user can program 3 main functions from a list (rotate 90fpm, 120fpm, 175fpm, front flash, rear flash, intersection sweep, rear oscilate and front oscilate). Right alley, left alley, Takedowns/worklights, jog left and jog right have individual activation wires.
Thank you for this demonstration. Such a nice lightbar.
Great video, great view!!
Damn, that is so cool!
My service would never go for something with so many options, they use the KISS Principle. One switch for on/off.
how do you program this
Mike Olexy, The bar has an internal control board that has dip switches to select the functions. The alley and jog wires are dedicated while the others can select options.
@@MsLightbar do you know what switchs are for what and what colors you powrr up?
Mike Olexy not offhand. The board will have 3 switches each labeled A, B and C. those are for the 3 main wire inputs. one of the switches is for td/work light and another is to control 1 or 2 lightheads. just make sure the bar is not powered when flipping the switches.
Where can I get this, so cool
Also can you show off the other parts of it
And does it have the back yellow lights?
It's a Smart Vector, search around to find one for sale. I upgraded to a Vision so I no longer have this to show more.
*me getting LVMPD vibes*
This bar was from a MN car. Did Vegas ever use Smart Vectors? Thought they only used Visions.
Rockport Police Department their lightbar back
?
@@MsLightbar its the same setup as in Need for Speed Most Wanted
@@isakjohansson7134 ah, cool. Have not played that so I didnt get the reference.
คือทั้งชุดนี้ใช้ได้แต่สีขาวอย่างเดียว ถรุ๊ยยยย
coolest modern lightbar ever, screw the LED, seriously your new cars in the states have way too much of them they look a little clown cars,no offense intended but in Europe we run 2 top beacons, one center top spotlight or a bar with threse 3 and very rarely 2 front flashers (usually ambulances and firetrucks) and thats it! you see them from miles, you dont need to look like clown, police cars are meant to look serious :)
Thanks for weighing in. I think the overkill on lighting in the US vs Europe steams from many factors (lawsuits from idiots, use it or lose it budgets, the types/frequency of traffic stops, big business sales pitches, ect). I dont understand why some Police departments put 3 vehicles worth if lighting on one vehicle. The states, counties and cities across the US do not have a lighting or color standard. One area blue is the only color on police vehicles while snow plows run blue in another. As for the Smart Vector shown here... great concept but very limited options (same with the Vision but I still love that for its programability). It gives one of the best off axis warning but the use of special functions reduce the warning power (sweeps or takedowns reduce the rear and 360 warning). I prefer the Code 3 MX7000. It has upper rotators and mirrors for extra and counter rotating flashes. The lower level has intersection sweeps, alley lights, takedown lights, flashers and full rear arrow. As for brightness, I really like the LP6000. No frills bar but bright output from the rotators.
@@MsLightbar my department uses the Federal signal Valor. It blows the Visions and Vectors away.
@@billydefrancesco2376 the Valor is a low profile LED bar while the Vector (bar in this video) and Visions are pod and primary halogen based. Classic case of comparing apples to oranges.
@@MsLightbar So did you ever see NYPD cars? Is that a upgrade Vison or Vector?
@@billydefrancesco2376 I presume you are referring to the SLR (as the NYPD have used several different bars). It still uses a pod setup but the pods are shaped different then the Vector/Vision pods. They still rotate but can be multi colored and have many program options for flashing, sweeping and rotating.
