The level of micromanaging needed eventually causes too much mental strain and perforce suffers.That's the problem playing these heroes for prolong periods of time.

By far the best and scariest snake I've ever seen in tournament. Shogun getting a respectable placing as well. Samsora adapted well, but he could have lost. Great tournament.
His movement with grenades is very good. But ally before he left I would say is the best and scariest snake, of course he is no longer with us and I would say shogun may be better than mvd and Salem.

Shogun improved his Snake tremendously from a year until now. He's incorporated grenades in a way you wouldn't normally think. It's amazing because average Snake players would chuck the grenades out but Shogun plants them at his feet and throw out down tilt not just to pick up the grenades but as defense in case oppenents try to come in. Nikita, up Smash and C4 planting becomes safer with the way he uses this grenades. Snake's meta can go up more thanks to Shogun.
A Snake with no fear of blowing himself up and using the grenades for offense and defense produces this kind of results. Shogun just needs to be less aggressive when he's being pressured and continue to wall in until the oppenents are vulnerable

Shoguns movement is so good and his grenade play is so fast it is really hard to properly cook nades and add in a good nuetral at the same time
For the first few seconds, I couldn't tell if they were button checking, or actually fighting.

Ngl, I'm a little upset that Shogun didn't upset Sam this time. His play with snake is amazing and reminds me of Ally's snake. It seems like the Snake meta game can learn a thing or two.

I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be toxic, but Shogun’s Snake is NOTHING like Ally’s. Shogun zones ALOT, while Ally barely zoned at all with Snake.

No one wants to see our boy lose cause of his controller
Shogun showed instead of just chucking grenades out, he used them to cover himself while using Nikita while in neutral. Not only that he used Snake's Dair to trip and canceled the last hit to grab. He is actively doing mix ups while covering most of Snake's vulnerable spots with grenades. He loves this character that much that he must've dedicated many days or months with just grenade control and another month to see what he can do with it.

I’m not sure if you know what zoning means, but I’m not denying that he has great grenade play. The point of my comment was to say that they play completely different. And you basically agreed by saying how they had different use of nikita and that Shogun was a better Snake player, which is something that I don’t agree with, but we all have our opinions.

samsora got in his head with the comback and he started to mistime his grenades. he was slightly out of it for a few games and couldn’t consistently play his godlike perfect snake. samsora started capilizing on his mistakes and was even punishing him for messed up grenade timing. and samsora movement dodging nikitas perfectly timed grenades and c4 was insane samsora a god
Sam is the amazing. Improvise adapt overcome, alot like mkleo. The snake was a nightmare.

What Ive noticed is playstyles of this speed/technique seems to sacrifice adaptability for outright movement. As you see him adapt it slows down alot more. As for Samsora he just develops his further, Shogun slowly starts to focus his playstyle into a more direct pattern.
Fighting BLucas and seeing Shoguns playstyle brought me to that conclusion, anyway

Most of the people whining about shogun are probably just mad that they got 3 stocked by some shitty elite smash Snake, this is some of the smoothest Snake play I’ve ever seen

Since it never got explained here you go: It’s a shield dropped grenade, but he up smashes before the shield actually comes out. So, to do it, grenade, shield, up smash. Do it fast enough, and you’ll up smash to place a projectile above you, and the timing perfectly cooks grenades
Can we talk about the fact that Shogun won the first two games, meaning if it was a standard Best of 3, he would have straight up beaten Samsora in Top 128?
