What when there are no team-mates to feel secure with? And when the harmers are so many, destroyed your nervous systemfunction and self-confidence, which were shrunk already beforehand? What to do with realistic fear and when one is not able to get the needed help and has been taken the basics of fysical life?.
Ok..so i just stoped the video(by the way ,I love these conversations) so I can say this about empathy: I think that during our liftime ,we will find ourselves many, many times in the situation of not being able to understand the feelings or the experiences other peoples go through, simply because we are limited by our own space and life experience. The most important thing to do is LISTEN, and make questions about the details that seem far from your understanding..1 . the person will realize that what he(she) is sharing is important to you, 2. by making questions about details will surely get you closer to their experience...yeah...I could go on and on about this...but I hope I was able to explain my thoughts.
= why confidence is arguably the most attractive trait to possess but there’s a significant difference between confidence and conceit📝 confidence can be proven & conceit 9/10 can’t 📝🧐
I do uncomfortable things all the time. But I never used to talk to strangers... I was very quiet and shy and had a lot of social anxiety but few years back I started talking to strangers and began talking to new people every day which changed my whole reality and outlook on life. So many opportunities opened up... I even got to hang out on movie sets and meet Keanu Reeves! I never knew how much I was missing out on by constantly living in fear! I am still practicing pushing myself to speak up but it gets easier and more fun the more I practice lol 😂🙋♀️ I step out of my comfort zone and let go of fear every time I post videos on youtube. Over time I am noticing how the actions that were once uncomfortable and anxiety provoking (like posting on social media ) have become things that have helped shape me into a stronger person and when I try to take a day off from some of these positive new habits and I notice changes in my thinking...
"Don't get too high on your successes and not too crushed by your failures! " That is always a challenge in life and one I've become better at in my late 30's: Controlling extreme emotional responses is the key to a sane life, not only in your career but in relationships and political views.
“Optimal” performance over “Peak” performance is the key to sustainable development and growth. Love it! Thank you for sharing! Always a pleasure to watch your videos! Make it a great day! ✨
The part where he talks about being empathetic: 1. It’s very humbling to see someone respond “I don’t know”. 2. Actors are indeed very empathetic but it also takes a bunch of research to put oneself in another’s shoes. That’s why it’s important to read, study, watch relevant media and constantly seek to learn something new...specially people from different walks of life.
Key takeaways: 1) Ask 'What's the better question?" 2) You are not entitled to anything and 3) What you choose to think among the many thoughts that go through your head, you make happen (Law of Attraction), 4) Always focus on what you can control to keep you taking action 5) Think out of the box (so this is how this relates to real life!). Totally agree with innoculating yourself with what you FEAR (no shame in being afraid, it's human! Key is to FACE IT squarely!). Thank you, these are very transformative lessons!
Such a fantastic interview, Lewis👌💥 Rich Diviney has so much to offer. My biggest takeaways: 1. true leaders are followed by their behaviour, 2. empathy & learning to work on that, 3. Self discipline vs discipline, 4. The Dragon & Princess mission, 5. how having a tempered amount of narcissism can be healthy to achieve success, also, 6. his hardest moments of his 20 year career were every time he said goodbye to his family on deployment and how he & his wife & son had to structure their calls, compartmentalizing, etc in order to cope. I could go on, but those are my top five that I could think of. I’ll probably have to watch it again.😉👌❤️
"If you feel you are completely out of controll of a situation... then start pose and answering the question... 'No matter how small, what aspect can I still controll?' and start controlling that thing... Because when you achieve that small thing it will give you a rush of dopamine, which will boost your confidence and the feeling that the whole situation might be controllable after all"
When Rich Diviney described the true definition of the word "cunning" I finally completely understood what Homer meant when he described Odysseus as a cunning man (or polytropos depending on the translation). The Odyssey is an internal journey of perseverance, leadership, and finding the right path. Rich Diviney seems to have experienced this, to understand it, and to be able to share it with clarity. I especially appreciate his specific examples of managing fear and anxiety and how to move past them. I am grateful for your excellent interviews. Thank you.
Brilliant, unexpected wisdom and empathy for the unknown. This made my life pass before my eyes and remember my dead and dying old friends again. Believe in yourself, no one else. Those that support you will ride your, "coat tails." Yes I used remember and again because , I forgot about them for a while.
Man, how he talks about having to leave his kids is real talk. I had to tell my family "good bye" when I went to prison. It hurt the most. Felt like being alive at your own funeral.
Clicked to get a swift kick in the butt by a veteran SEAL, but now only at the 45:00 mark and I've already gotten an unexpectedly dense psychology lesson. Rich, thank you for your service and this immensely useful info; and Lewis, thank you for facilitating these awesome discussions. Keep up the good work!
YES LEWIS FOOKING YES!!! Mr.Diviney is a special kind of man! I applaude him for writing a book that is not a biography,he is methodical and very inteligent man. And let's not mention his background 😅
This video is the wisdom and insight I have been needing for a long time. Thank you both for delivering this message. It motivates me to push my limits and innoculate my fears. It even helped me realize other ways I have been moving in the wrong direction that weren't even mentioned in the podcast. I am going to share it; let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.
Really good podcast! Lewis you always ask the BEST questions but Rich is so good at articulating the message he is getting across to everyone. I can DEF listen to this over and over for a little motivation. Great job guys!
The biggest take away from this video is the misleading title. I understand you need the views but be more honest what the video is about. One question and a 60 second answer covered the title. That aside, your guest was superb and give some deep insights. Fascinating stuff! Thanks.
I like this guy & agree/ believe/ like what he has said. Also he reminded me of some stuff which i love. Aww i totally agree..set goals thsts meaningful to u that builds ur confidence i totally agree 100% that me smile and made me excited again for my goals. And the fear part too! Yes, it's so great to face some fears til ur comfy with them. Growth! Gosh.. So much to love about this vid! Thank you🙂 Love it!
Incredible podcast! Thank both of you for all that you do. I’ve pre-ordered the book and about to take the assessment. “I am” Who I choose to be and the only one who can control and guide it. Time to continue do the hard work 💪. Bless you
This is so good. I have trendous respect for the Navy Seals. The advice is so authentic. At some points, I felt like I was listening to the Bhagawat Gita ! In case you did not know, Bhagawat Gita is a set of poems recited by Lord Sri Krishna, in the battlefields of Kurukshetra. A wartime classic, so to speak. God bless you both for sharing this 🙏
Absolutely great! It's packed with practical wisdom and Aha! moments! I like the way Rich speaks, straightforward, authentic and not salesy. Although, of course, he is selling his book. But you can feel that he is also just willing to share what he knows.
I'm the eldest child of a Ranger and a Green Beret colonel. At one point in his career he was commanding officer of a fort related to the school of Americas outside of the United States. Is I have reflected on growing up in that environment with this man as my father I have come to some awarenesses. One is that sometimes the very qualities and or characteristics that would allow one to be extraordinary really successful and this or perhaps any given career are sometimes the same qualities and characteristics that will not allow you to be successful in interpersonal relationships. Having a father that was gone for long periods of times and usually under very dangerous circumstances such as at War, was not good for the rest of the families mental health, growth and development. While he was protecting others we were left unprotected and vulnerable both physically and emotionally. And often times even financially. Please understand that I love my father with my whole heart! And that he is a hero! He has several bronze Stars and three or four rows of medals on his uniform. It has been challenging to say the least to find civilians that have his level of focus, commitment, dedication and integrity.

I could so relate to the switching contexts taking up energy! Having small children and trying to work in 5 minute increments is exhausting.
Oooh, glad you said that, because I saw something similar in the comments on the Joe Rogan comments...and I was like "Is this for real?"
