    All time favorite book and film. Christian Bale is amazing in it. So quotable. Masterpiece of a genius mind.

    I've read this book a number of times because it's so entertaining and well written but I think less than zero is his masterpiece, whatever most say

  • @imagineaworldlikethat4081

    He’s very creative & smart. Little did he know when he felt lonely and first wrote it what a spectacular phenomenon it would become.

    at around 1:42 Bret says the word "conformity" in exactly the same way as Christian Bale does in the movie American Psycho. Same intonation, same pitch.

    My writings in their entirety - are triggered by pain, loneliness, bitterness, anger yet also inspiration and influence by the people who've changed my life through art. Literary artists include: James Frey (who changed my life - with "A Million Little Pieces" and "Bright Shiny Morning"), David Benioff, Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, Stephen King and Richard Price.

    @ColdChicago You don't understand the book. It's a critisism about the lifestyle he has seen happening with people at wall street, and with wealthy young yuppies in New York. He couldn't have written it if he hadn't witnessed that kind of people like in the book.

    it is of great interest, and my hope is that you write that novel, memoir, expose... and let the world have a look at those sociopaths... many of whom will wind up in congress if present indicators are any index. watch your back, we wish you well as you track the remorseless beast we know as the system.

    I used to think that BRET EASTON ELEPHANT was a genius until I seen this interview with him explaining that 'I COULD NOT TALK ABOUT IT AT THE TIME, BUT AMERICAN PSYCHO WAS ABOUT ME FEELING ANGRY & LONELY'..................... well i've felt those emotions countless times in my life, but I've never thoought of mutilating women and ripping their genitals off with my teeth............... so if the book is about Bret (like he confessed) then BRET IS INFACT A TRUE BLUE PSYCHOPATH.

    @jshrubz no, sorry. after reading such a piece of crap i gave up on the guy. why would such a great writer do an homage for such a crappy writer anyways?? other than money??? ellis use to be one of the best. now his stuff is watered down just like everybody elses. saddens the shit out of me.

  • @fknbkn
    @fknbkn Před 11 lety

    Thank you, I will need it ( luck). I think the fact it is so entertaining for me is, I went to school and work with the patrick bateman archetype, racist, sadistic, sociopaths who's only two concerns in life where their pocketbooks and genitalia. These people exist, and I find that fact incredibly interesting. The fact that Don Trump or others like him can essentially, get away with murder is about as interesting as it gets. Down right disturbing possibly but, entertaining none the less.

    Just to let you know, you're wrong about us. We detest Trump and Hilton - and suprisingly (knowing the stupidity of most people) not as many people tune in on E! for the Kardashians. It's okay to be pissed off - just don't deliberately piss other people off unless you're making a valid point. In this case, your point is fueled out of ignorance.
