    Brett's insightful opinion on the election and the Trump presidency is so perfectly worded. That's what we need more of in the media

    The guy on the right looks like Godard. Perhaps he IS Godard.

    Always been a fan of Bret Easton Ellis. Hearing his opinion on Trump, I like him more. A very reasonable position, unlike many of his contemporaries who are quick to label Trump a "Nazi."

      Very reasonable indeed. I agree with most of President Trump's goals, even if a lot of his statements can come off as just silly.

    My interpretation of the character though he would admire Trumps wealth and social status but Trump was from Queens and did not go to Harvard so I think Patrick would look down on him a little. Trump is not a stereotypical yuppie really. The yuppies just like celebrities and name dropping though so that is all a relationship with the family would mean to them. Just another brand name.

      Bateman would've hated Trump. I'm sure he would appreciate all the money he would make from him, but Trump's relations to the poor would have disgusted Bateman, who viewed the working class as pathetic and less than human.

    • @EveForbiddenFruit
      @EveForbiddenFruit Před 6 lety +5

      Yes, but Trump in the 80s wasn't the same man as he is now, as Ellis points out in the interview. Bateman was admiring Trump the businessman, not Trump the politician.

    Patrick Bateman could have voted for Hillary since Hillary is essentially no better than P.B.
