- 1979 Honda CB125 S First Ride - a classy classic - my buddy Dave of the Motofellas fame picked this baby up with only few thousand miles on it - a beautiful example owned by Billy Joels friend (apparently) - I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about this bike or these bikes for that matter but it was super fun. Light, nimble with a touch of pep and pickup. Crispy and clean little bike. Thank you to Dave for letting me ride it, and thank you all for watching and all the support. Have you ever ridden a bike like this before, or similar? Some basic stats for you below.

The original general purpose motorcycle. Literally millions of American high school and college kids rode those bikes to school every day. After school the guy's in the neighborhood would go out together and bust some dirt...same bikes. Mr. Honda changed the world. These bikes run for ever. Old Honda motorcycles in Seattle are like VW buses, old bald guys with tie died shirts, flip flops, Bermuda shorts year round, and sporting vestigial pony tails. That is to say, ubiquitous. Well, that turned out a little wordy, now didn't it? Go figure.
I wish I had one of these when I was a kid. Would have been oh so fun to ride to school or what not. Dang.
You meet the nicest people riding Honda... 😎
Fun Dave surprise! 👋 sweet bike too
Always nice to see Dave and his latest toys.
Old bikes are the best to ride you can see the difference in new to old bike great video
You most definitely see how far we have come. For sure.
That's awesome. I rode a very similar Kawasaki back in the day. That sound took me back.
Such a shockingly fun tiny little bike.
Many years ago my wife had a Yamaha AT125 two stroke, so much fun.
That sounds awesome and your wife sounds cool as hell.
Love Dave's Honda CB125S, back in 1979 (41 years ago) I took my motorcycle test on a Honda CG125, now ride a Yamaha FZ6 S2
Oooh, that test must have been cake because these bikes are so nimble :)
They are fun to ride! I have a 1974 CB125. I love that thing.
They sure are a hoot. Pure fun.
I have my grandpa's 1976 Cb125s modified to café racer, and its pretty awesome
Very nice bike!
I've got a 91' Yamaha SR 250, I use it to move around my town, for short rides, errands, etc... It's very cheap (consumption, maintenance, parts) , strong and comfortable.
Thanks for the vid. 👍
You're welcome my friend. I bet it was a perfect little bike to get around. Fun and light. I kind of wish I had a tiny lil bike like that - perhaps electric.
I can for sure clarify to everyone that I have one from 1972 and I call her ol’blue and I can for sure say the excitement in this video is real and it is a fun rider
Hehe yea it's definitely a treat to ride. What a little machine.
@@ducatinyc well it’s kinda similar but mine is a sl125 I didn’t mention a little diffrent from the cb and I don’t have her origional key and ignition but it makes me happy it was a trade hopefully someday I get a title for her so I can ride her more then just public road close by
hell yeah broski!
Shockingly fun.
Love it ♥
Good. i'm glad :)
Sick little bike man!
Great joy and fun indeed.
Excellent video 👍 👌
Thank you so much :)
Как же мне нравится эта Хонда ❤️
Лёгкая, простая. Бери и наслаждайся(:
Immenno! Prosto veselo i vse!
@@ducatinyc do you know Russian bro?
that thing is cool
Super neat.
Good strong machine
It sure was
My favorite bike from late 70s till 1983 ,went every everywhere top speed about 65 till i changed sorocket then about 75
75 on this baby? That must have been something!
So this is what we started our riding careers on during the 1970's , this was basically equipped like the larger Honda CB's , this was a mini CB.
I wish I had this when I was a kid. Man o man.
Отличный выбор! :)
Spasibo bratan.
125's can be fun and cheap to run too, A good 125 for longevity and touring is the Honda Varadero 125 its a big bike too, Its a water cooled V-Twin and ive seen them with over 60 thousand miles on the clock.
I've had two CB125 TWINS but never a Single. Id love one though.
60K on the clock - so like my ducati :) Small bikes are indeed fun as heck.
Ohhh the sky blue color of the gas tank is so sexy
Yea, the whole thing was minty.
That was pretty :-). I hope then there was a barbecue with friends.
I went to another place after, a town about 40 miles away and sure grilled up :)
I had a honda 125cc like that in 1979
Oooh, you bought it new eh?
Hey your buddy has an rx 8 i had a 2008 40th anniversary edition. So much fun till i blew the engine last year
Yes yes he does, its his drift mobile. The child is wild.
Вот это байк крутой)))
Da, on nashol horoshenkiy exempliar.
In Brazil we call "CG Bolinha" 😁
A Ball!? :)
@@ducatinyc The gas tank seems a Little ball... hahaha
All these cabels in the air, is this filmed in Manilla?
No, deep Brooklyn. Fun fact: we use electricity in USA as well :)
;) awsome honda. Im looking for one in Europe after seen your video.@@ducatinyc
I'll get this bike one day if Allah wills, great video!
Thank you! I hope you do!
I have 125 honda 2021 model
Nice, thats a great bike!
many motorcycles of this in the United States?
Yep, alot and plenty.
@@ducatinyc sorry for the question, i'm from brazil and here we have the cg 125 and it is very similar to the cb 125 but we have very little information about the cb 125 I'm glad there were a lot of units launched around the United States
@@ducatinyc one more subscriber
@@wtsp5728 thank you brother
@@ducatinyc my english is bad hahaha I don't know if I spelled it right. I wanted to ask There were many CB 125 hondas there in the united states of the 70s ?
Thanksss
Top speed ?
No idea! Sorry.
Top speed for cb ?
Likely 65 mph if you're small going downhill with a tail wind!
if you want to see a good Honda CB in Indonesia 🇲🇨
Oh I'm sure!
Looks like GTA 🤣
Thats the city for ya.
i live in Pakistan.. and i love this bike so much because it has a OHC engine... but unfortunately i can't buy it because honda is making us fool since 40 years and selling their poor quality bike Cg 125 with a OHV engine...
and those people who have this bike they don't sell they are keeping this beauty as a vintage..
i wish i could import this bike to my country 💔
Yea my friend who bought this bike is WAY too happy about it. He loves it. A classic.
What is wrong with a Honda ohc engine just as good
@@chucky2316 OHC is a good engine
but OHV engine is shit
@@abdulrafaykhan3475 ohv is good just need like every engine regular maintenance. Valves aren't hard to adjust and maintain
@@chucky2316 you can't run an OHV on high rep... pushrods starts making noises...
Not a 79. Last year to have a tach was 1975. 79 only had speedo and only came in red. This is probably a 75.
You are probably right. 79 is just what i was told
Man.. you really do not know how to coldstart an old bike. I feel sorry for the bike. No feeling for it at all.
The owner was next to me and the bike was warmed up. But you are right, i have no idea how to kickstart. I have all the feeling and passion and love for bikes just no experience. Relax, buddy.
This is legit the first old bike i kickstarted. I was actually proud of myself for being able to start it at all so, whatever. Some people just wana bitch and moan. I feel sorry for you for wanting to bitch me out instead of giving me tips
Guys looks unsafe !
Whats unsafe about it?
Honda will last you for the rest of your fucking life, I have a Aprilia that's always in the shop for something.. the parts take forever to come in.. and the maintenance is a arm and a leg, my Honda cb500f.. I can beat the shit out of it,.. and all it needs is gas and oil.
Sure, of course but..... Aprilia is Aprilia and Honda is a Honda :)
@@ducatinyc that's very true ,but in this part of my life,.. I'm looking for reliability and low maintenance.. a perfect marriage.🤣👍
You arnt wearing any protection....
I am, but just pants and boots and helmet for this 5mph 3 min long ride 😂😂😂
anything can happen then you'd need new skin
@@steve00alt70 bro, look at my 1400 vlogs, im always in gear. Here i was legit going 5. No need for shit talking
@@ducatinyc D:
@@steve00alt70 hehe thank u for ur concern though
