I wrote Nicolas Bruno to find out why he chose a masonic compass for the back of the Somnia Tarot here is what he said:
Hey Benny,
Thank you so much for supporting my artwork and taking the time to send me this kind message. Regarding the back of the cards: I use the compass as a motif for the exploration of the realm between the conscious and subconscious. In sleep paralysis, your mind becomes trapped in this state of purgatory. Through each dream experience, I metaphorically navigate this uncharted world and attempt to bring glimpses of it to the surface via my artwork. I have found masonic symbolism as a great inspiration for conveying complex ideas through simple means, which has heavily impacted the way that I compose my images. This interest has also brought me into the world of antique emblems, which also use a similar method of using symbolism to express powerful messages. The compass appeared as the perfect symbol for the back of The Somnia Tarot, where each tarot user can use this navigation tool to explore their own subconscious. Hopefully this helps!

I totally agree about the Lubanko. Those two cards make me uncomfortable as well. But wow, what a stunning deck!
I think the purpose of those two cards is to make one look within and see why it bothers us. Very shadowie.

I love your choices and I plan on purchasing some of them. I’m going to order the Fyodor Pavlov today. Also the Medicine Flower Oracle. My favorite “beautiful deck” in my collection is Tarot of Mystical Moments…so far! And I’m in love with decks that have gilded edges!
Your going to love looking at the Fyodor Pavlov deck. The colors he uses I don’t think I’ve seen in another deck, which makes it stand out even more. The Medicine Flower Oracle is just so darn beautiful. I’d love to hear what you think of them when you have them. Thanks for watching. 😊
I love flowers, and before I ventured into Tarot, I started with Oracle decks. My first Oracle decks were... you guess it; floral decks. So, my favorite out of your selection is the Flower Medicine Oracle Deck, I love her artistic style and my second favorite is Sacred Destiny. Although, I don't usually like white borders but with this deck, the white borders gives depth to the art work and draws me into the picture. If only we could all live in a world of peace, surrounded by beautiful nature.
Flower decks are my jam! I cans do plant and flower decks because I don’t know plants at all, but flowers are just so darn beautiful. Thanks for watching. 😊

Wow the same thing happened with me on the Lubanko for the exact same two cards! But the remainder of the deck is so good I decided finally to get the deck and hope those 2 cards don't come up much!! Ha~ Agree the Elizabeth on Earth is also well done! Nice video!

I was not able to find any information on the internet or in the guidebook. So, I emailed him at his website. I’ll let you know what he says if he responds. Good question!😊
