Believe me, you don't stop listening to vocaloid, it always comes back. It's like it's haunting you or something
Oh, *oh it is haunting you.* (looks at kikuo)
IT DOES OH MY GOD like I was into it when I was like 10 (I listened to the more standard producers and didnt know that vocaloid is basically a whole bunch of singing robots)
Straight up like I hadn't listened to vocaloid since like 5th grade and all of a sudden I'm listening to it 24/7 again
Exactly, I came back to the fandom and now I’m obsessed again.. I’m also in love with Chinese vocaloids now.. have a evolved backwards?

Honestly, I started getting into Vocaloid a year ago and it makes me upset when all the hype was 11 years ago :(
BIG AGREE!

i started listening to vocaloid like 10 years ago, but i fell out of it
im glad people still enjoy it and it isn’t completely dead

the vocaloid phase never ends. it’ll come back when you least expect it
It really do be like that

I was loving touhou music so much (especially night of nights/knight of nights) that my vocaloid phase was fading away and then I came across ghost rule aaaaaand boom my vocaloid phase is bacc
Sorry for the year later response but yeah lol left for a year or 2 and vocaloid is my life onces again lol

Intermediate Vocaloid Fans: Miku is so overrated ugh I hate her ugh

Vocaloid is always there, it just fades to the background but when you find a new song or nostalgia hits you, you end up listening to the entire internet's worth of Vocaloid songs. Then after a few months it fades to the background once again. Rinse and repeat.
Except for her case it ain't happening. Why? Well I'm used to be a former hardcore Vocaloid fan and a 1 and a half years old Touhou fan (the same occuring to her except she's 3 years old Touhou fan). And in case you wonder how good is Touhou music (only the music, not the entire games), to simplify thing, it's soundtracks relevant of Vocaloid music.
I watched my first video in like. . .2017 and it was Jubyphobic's cover of 'World Is Mine,' I completely forgot about. Until a year later, when it was in my recommended again. Then I forgot about it until 2020, and. . .I got into the Evillous Chronicles. HELP ME
That just happened to me, got out of it but then nostalgia hit me hard
I started by being addicted to MitchieM and older Vocaloid songs, grew out of it for about 3 years, and then rediscovered it recently! I love artists with lore behind certain songs, and while I no longer consider GHOST a Vocaloid producer because they quit/took a break recently, I still enjoy the stories and subject matter! Other honorable mentions are PinocchioP, Kikuo, Circus-P, Neru, and hachi!
PHAHAHA YES

Hey guys, people say stuff like "aw I got into Vocaloid after the hype was already over", but does that really matter? It's not about following trends right? It's about discovering something you like! Apart from Vocaloid, I also like music from the 70s/80s and I don't care that it's 'old' and 'outdated' music because it's still really good! Besides, people might say that the "golden days of Vocaloid" are over, but it's up to us right now to keep Vocaloid going! Fans are the only things Vocaloid needs because literally anyone can make it's music and draw it's pictures.
Another thing: I don't think you don't have to be constantly hyped and excited about something to be a fan. Yeah, sometimes I don't listen to Vocaloid songs that much, but that doesn't mean I feel like I don't count as a fan anymore. It's okay to have multiple interests in music. I say this because sometimes I feel like there is some sort of a pressure on people to keep the label of 'fan': they HAVE to know the latest producers, the newest Vocaloids and all the trending music because if they don't they are 'fake fans' or old fans who no longer care about Vocaloid. This is not true! You can have an 'on and off'-relationship with Vocaloid and still count as a real fan.
You know what's kinda funny? When Sand Planet was mentioned, she was fully out of the Vocaloid fandom, and that song is literally about people leaving the fandom, new people coming in and the same with creators
it was also the song that brought old fans back into the fandom, and even gathered some new ones, so the irony just increased more
I still like vocaloid music, since I was 12. My favourite artist at the moment are 23.exe and keisei
Also I have always loved Pinocchio P, wowaka, maretu, ryo and all the "clasic" vocaloid artists, but I think the new music is super great too, like those who I have already mention and bighead, robo, Kinoshita, etc (sorry for my english)
@@Mintexce Maretu is great

You realize that you had childhood trauma when you remember that you used to watch the Minecraft school animations and vocaloid mmd
Imagine completely quitting Vocaloid
I had a few short fall outs where I’d start listening to something else, Fall Out Boy, Set it Off, and recently Mafumafu to list a few examples. But at some point or another I always get roped back into Vocaloid. After Sand Planet I feel like I just become even more invested in Vocaloid then before and started appreciating some earlier classics I didn’t fully enjoy when I first got into it (but I still listen to new songs too!). Personally it’s really hard to me to totally drop something and to this day I’ve still got Vocaloid music in all of my playlists. Some songs get removed from my playlist I will admit but then I just add newer songs.
I’m not sure where I was going with this
Yeah
Same. I'm recently enjoying so many classic songs that I used to dislike. I feel like a child in a toy store. So many new things to play...
There's just so much in the vocaloid community. Lots of different artists, lots of different programs like utau, cevio, synthV etc. So it's hard to get bored
Honestly I branched out to utaite like mafumafu, amatsuki, soraru, luz, chogakusei, etc. due to vocaloid. 10/10
Fall outs (boy)
Please help
I completely quit vocaloid after my weeb years faded, haven't listened to it since never followed any artist from vocaloid (only metal and rock artist) and never rlly got interested in learning about the other vocaloids. I’ve been a vocaloid fan since 5th grade and honestly I don’t think I’ve ever fell out of it completely lol.
As a kid I’ve seen miku around a couple times and I liked her design, just didn’t know what she was from. I actually did listen to some vocaloid songs before knowing what it was, but the first time I actually found out about it was by watching the iconic world is mine live concert video. It got me interested in miku, but it was kind of a temporary obsession until I ran into vocaloid again. What really got me hooked and wanting to learn more about it was gigap’s remix of electric angel with rin and len and it’s super adorable pv. After watching that I was fascinated, the video was so cute and I wanted to know more. Ever since that I’ve just been discovering more and more songs, watching cool music videos with great art, reading comments on the meanings of the songs. There was something so nice about seeing people’s different takes on a song.
Rin and len became my favorites until now. My favorites now are Kaito and Meiko, but I still love rin and len. It’s hard to pick a favorite song since it keeps changing, but I’ll say I’m glad you’re evil too is my favorite right now. Some producers I’ve been really enjoying are niru kajitsu and Mitchie m
What made vocaloid really special to me was the community that it thrives on. I’m a senior in highschool now and I still love vocaloid, it’s brought me a lot of comfort growing up. It still is a source of comfort for me today! I know that someday I’ll probably move on from it but for now I’m going to enjoy it as much as I can.

Anyone else who was/is into Vocaloid music? If so who were/are your favourite producers? Oh and who's your favourite Vocaloid?
Yuunarii my favorite vocaloid is piko. Odd choice I know but I love him and his voice-
I was a luka kid. As a kid the voice was strangely welcoming to my ears. But I have soft spot for miracle paint
I never really knew vocaloid just a bit of UTAU
Kasane Teto was my favourite tho
used to scour niconicovideo for teto stuff all the time heh
Deco*27 is hands down my favorite producer. There's something about their music that just resonates with me.
Not a Vocaloid per se, but Yowane Haku is my fave of the bunch.
Patrick yessss!! Deco is amazing
The song her vocaloid sang was black butler op 1 xD i recognized it heheh
Thank you so much it sounded so familiar but I just couldn't figure out what it was.
The thing with me is that I never listened to vocaloid for the vocaloids, the songs and lyrics are what trapped me, I follow the composers, so I don't think I will ever quit listening to them as long as there's a badass composer who uses them.
Hearing Miku’s world is mine song gives me flashbacks to my kid weeaboo days. I was in a summer camp program and we had a teacher that would let kids take turns on putting their songs on the speaker while we worked on activities and my dumb weeb ass decided to put that song on. It’s a good song but I cringe when I think about my classmates reactions😭
lmao how did they react?
How did they react though?
React how tho
Oof I can feel that in my B O N E S
I never play my music for anyone cus it's all Vocaloid and mostly Japanese lol
I snorted so hard at this omg I can just feel this
I pretty much only follow the artists of Vocaloids rather than the Vocaloids themselves nowadays and referring back to the song "Sand Planet" pretty much gives the message that most people see the Vocaloids first rather than the artists themselves who are the real OG's making the music, which is ultimately sad but true. The artist I'm currently bopping to right now is PinocchioP as he makes some really good songs that hit me. It's kind of sad to think that 10 years ago, Miku had a huge influence in my life (Albeit really cringe) but as time passes we just move on to pursue other interests.
True, I love pinocchio p and have been on a deco*27 kick rn.
True! I'm still apart of the fandom.. though I'm not a OG I still love the music! I'm into GIGA-P , Mitche M and GIGA
It's not everyday I find people like you. Most others just refer songs to the vocaloids that sing them, without giving credit to the artist that was responsible for making it.
Kairiki Bear is also a good mention
I feel like the only one who likes the song kiwi by atols as my favorite song and I feel like it's forgotten
Its an on off cycle for most people, I remember I listened to vocaloid when I was young but stopped in like 4th grade but got back into it in 6th grade but I feel I'm starting to drift again as I'm starting highschool. Once you're deep in the Fandom (or any fandom for that matter) you never leave, you still come back to visit it and may become obsessed again. I can never leave the friendship I've made with Miku and the gang, and i wouldn't have it any other way.
Miku's last goodbye was heartbreaking when you actually understood the lyrics
@@heyimlithuanian1003 Miku's last goodbye? I'm not sure what you're talking about? The disappearance of Hatsune Miku, perhaps?
This is true, this is basically me in the marble hornet, creepypasta and vocaloid fandom

The little human thing for representing the Vocaloid producer Kikuo is accurate as frick.
I don't know whether this person had a messed up childhood and decided to make it into a song to bring awareness or use it as a coping mechanism or if they are a sucker for cynical and dark topics that not even Neru covered in his songs.
I love Pinocchio-P's music and Wowoka was a classic (god bless his soul)
But Kikuo man. Their songs really get me thinking.
I do know Neru had a reason for those darker songs related to school.
Mostly because Japan schools are strict af and Neru was still in school when Tokyo Teddy Bear, Lost One's Weeping was made.
You can see the change in his music from edgy to depressing but somewhat bearable to watch without thinking "What the hell was going on in these people's minds when making this song?!" Yeah..
When people make comments like this I can't tell if they like Kikuo or not at all

@@bakago4746 the one and only (i said hachi because i listen more to his vocaloid stuff than his personnal songs)
PinochioP..? 23exe..? What have l missed? XD I remember when SeeU and IA were new
@@sombre274 You should definitely check them out. PinochioP has incredible visuals, great music with reaaaally good lyrics (check "I'm glad you're evil too" and "Secret HIMITSU") and 23.exe has really cool chill songs (check telo telo and YY)
You brought back your old art style! I really like it!
The first Vocaloid song I ever listened to was “Dark Woods Circus” and it is still one of my favorites to this day.
my favourites are gumi, neru, teto and miku :)) i love vocaloid still and honestly, i don't think i will stop.
You know I used to have wanted to go to a Hatsune Miku concert, but I've grown up since then and now only want to go to a live splatoon concert I've matured quiet a bit

Funny thing, I was the opposite. I was religiously into Touhou during my teen years but then got bored of it. After a few years of not really being interested in anything, I suddenly fell in love with Vocaloid. Been a fan for nearly two years now and love it deeply. It's a shame that people move on (producers and fans alike), but hey, that's life. Things changes, interests change. I love Vocaloid and hope the community will stay around and continue making content for years to come.
P.S. I kinda look at my Touhou life with cringe now. I don't hate it or anything but a lot of the stuff just seems so silly now. It's weird because some of the "silly" stuff can done by Vocaloids yet I'll still like it. Odd how interests change your bias, yeah?
what do you find "silly" about touhou? specifically. just wanted to know.
@@davidlewis6728 I honestly don't think about it too much so I can't give a straight answer off the top of my head. I feel like it's mostly reverse nostalgia; I lost interest in it and now feel a sense of bewilderment whenever I look at it.
@@touji_01 were you one of those fanatical type of fans? i could totally understand wanting to distance yourself from something for that reason, even if the thing itself is still ok. basically, i am more curious about the specific reasons. if you can't think of any, that's fine, too, of course.
@@davidlewis6728 I suppose the silliness is how much I obsessed over it; like I wished that Touhou would spread to the entire world and everyone knew about it and that Gensoukyo was real and I could meet all the characters and all that. Teenage fantasies, basically. Now that I'm older and know more about how the world works, it all seems silly in retrospect, like reality caused me to lose the magic of the fantasies.
@@touji_01 well, i hope you continue to enjoy the things you still like in your own way. please remember that there is nothing intrinsic to reality that should prevent us from having unrealistic dreams, and that it is ok to use your imagination, even as an adult, as long as it doesn't get in the way of your responsibilities as an adult. :P
*Hi! Uh.... this is my first time here on the channel and... I like it! 😌👍*
Wow, you hit 100k views. Nice I love seeing you grow viewers
Awww thank you!! I'm super happy about it too! Hopefully people will stick around for future videos 😊😊
@@Yuunarii Yea I really enjoy your videos even when I don't know what they're talking about
Ah, I recently wondered what you've been up to and how Fushi is coming along. That explains it. ;w;
Fushi is in a vegetative state, only being kept alive by the two download links to her voicebanks on Jimdo.
I was gonna give her a full VCCV Dutch voicebank at one point but I kinda quit halfway in.
As someone who was into it since 2006, I thought I was over Vocaloid, until we had the first European concerts. I went for nostalgia and loved it so much I cried my little weeb eyes out to Senbonzakura, but experiencing Bring it On live was really what did it. I went this year too, and with the first live performance of Hyper Reality Show I discovered Utsu-P.
I'm not really part of the fandom now, but as a kid I saw vocaloid first. Nowadays it's definitely producer first. I love Miku and what she represents, but so many people didn't appreciate the producers back then!
5:08 I hear her singing Monochrome no Kiss from Black Butler.
"get stick bugged"
Wow,the bug is cute tho xD
"Somehow, all of my future interests originated from Sonic"
I can relate 100% as well.
I've never lost interest in a type of music in my life. Everything i've ever loved, I still love. It just gets added to the pile. It's fun
I used to think that but at this point I've prolly dropped a quarter of my playlist bc it was all nightcore. 😭😭😭
First of all, I've got to say, it's a great video, I've liked it from start to end! It was so interesting, funny, and the editing was very well made!
It's rare nowadays to find youtubers who talk about vocaloid this way, you seem to know a lot about it! And that's what make this video so interesting!
Though, as an english-vocaloid producer/user/listener, I'd recommend you to listen to songs with english vocaloids, (even english vocaloids who were japanese first, like Miku english for example) it's a totally detached and separated world from the japanese vocaloid community/world!
Anyway, you earned a new subscriber today!
I will always have a fondness for Vocaloid music, especially anything by PowapowaP, Wowaka, and Neru. Vocaloid and anime openings definitely opened up an avenue to listening to different Japanese artists in general, which I’m grateful for.
Kikuo SLAPS, I still wait for his new songs to this day, he's a fantastic artist
Me when she said her favourite song is lost one's weeping.
Has fan girl panic attack, Because that's also my favourite.

I appreciate your profile pic! And, quite valid opinion! Squish, squish!
I love ur video and art! It's so FUNNY XD
And uh, sadly I haven't been away from this shackles...hahah
If ur in a bad mood in the future and have a mood to check out some new vocaloid maybe you can check out Deco's new song: Positive parade. It didn't have a sad backstory or amazing animations or anything, but the song is nice
Woooooow. Yes yes yes yes yes yes perfect you need to do more this seriously put the songs on CZcams day is good ;)
Sadly I still love them. I’m like 26 and I still proud to listen to them, but I keep it to myself. I’m excited to go to miku expo when this whole Covid ends. Never got in the cringe area
Disappointed 2020 was canceled, but 'highlight' makes up for it a little
there's no need to cringe about being a Vocaloid fan! It's a valid type of music imo.
I hid away my love for vocaloid, I cant seem to understand the people who go out in the open and show off their love for it, it can be intensly cringy at times to me. Although my love for Odds & Ends by Ryo will always be a special song in my heart
I can't really see myself drifting away from vocaloid mostly because I'm more so invested in the artists that use it and just the music itself. A bop is a bop no matter how old you are!
I actually found you through UTAU videos and stuck around when you started animation.
I'm the one who made UTAU Amino a few years back, I can't remember if I ever saw you on there. I don't moderate it anymore, because I also fell out of the fandom, but I like listening to the occasional song and do vocaloid covers once in a blue moon haha.
Oh yeh yeh I used to be semi active on the UTAU Amino back then. My dead profile is somewhere out there haha
goodness I still watch these videos and listen to the classic vocaloid songs. They make me feel nostalgic
Meanwhile i discovered vocaloid just recently
As someone who's been here since the early days, welcome to the source of 70% of my favorite artists.
@@raccoonchild Thanks for the welcome. Appreciated.
Welcome! If you're smart, you'll learn *a lot* of new things
I've been here for a bit over a year now. It feels like much longer, probably because a lot has changed. I went into quarantine, graduated from high school, and started learning Japanese. I started out listening to music by GHOST and ferry, but eventually started pivot towards masa, pinocchioP, kikuo, and wadatekeaki.
Enjoy the ride, it's really something
1:11 That’s literally trying to wake up my dad with Vocaloid music- I got grounded for a month since I ended up waking up the other neighbours but it was worth it 💅✨
Yasssssss! Lost one’s weeping is my fave as well. Personally, Neru is one of the best vocaloid producer.
You might leave Vocaloid, but Vocaloid will never leave you 😈
Welcome back, Yuu! I miss your glorious animated story time videos and this is certainly one of them with your fluid, cute art style and entertaining stories and storytelling! I also love your Dutch accent and you remind me of a fellow Dutch artist friend of mine. Anyway, I anticipate seeing more content like this and I would like to see more of your bootleg Vocaloid days. 😄
Awww thanks you so much 😊😊 I really appreciate it!!
@@Yuunarii Anytime, always a pleasure! Keep up the great work doing what you do and I anticipate the next video. 👍
@@Yuunarii Thanks for the lesson in Vocaloids too! I like Vocaloid music but I'm not really knowledgeable about it. I know and listen to Touhou and eurobeat in general more.
My playlist back then: World is mine, Two faced lovers, etc.
My playlist now:
You never see it COMING
Yeah, I know the feeling.
Your UTAU still sounds better than my voice in recordings. XD
Oh man, you've gotta get back into it. The last couple of years have been huge for VOCALOID music and this year kept up the pace.
Been into them since I was 12 then suddenly stopped. I'm 19 years old now and I came back to Vocaloid not too long ago.
In comparison, I just recently fell back into the rabbit hole of vocaloid and have no clue how I’m getting back out
My child is completely fine
MA'AM YOUR CHILD'S FAVORITE SONG IS LOST ONE'S WEEPING
I’m not that obsessed with vocaloid but when I first discovered it
we don’t talk about that
“Looking at you neru, and wowaka.”
And kikuo.
“*looks at kikuo* yeah we dont talk about you.”
Oh.
